Great customer service! Came here for my first laser appointment last Thursday. I accidentally overpaid and they were very helpful in getting me my refund. I hadn't gotten it in a few days so I had to call the credit card company, but they wanted me to keep them updated and were super helpful in sending me the refund receipt to make my claim. No update on laser results but hoping to see some after a couple of appointments! read more

This place is a scam. The level of professionalism exhibited does not align with the price and the service you receive. I received the worst facial of my life here and I want to make sure that no one ever comes here. I already wasn't expecting much because of the location, it's in a shopping center near a Mexican grill. Then they demanded I pay before receiving the service which was weird but ok. I had called prior to coming in to make sure that they knew how to perform extractions well and was told yes. This was a lie because the person that was doing my facial had about 5 months of experience and didn't perform full extractions which was so frustrating, especially after this was the primary reason for said facial. No cooling globe, no steam - nothing about this place warrants a $175 medical facial, nothing about the facial was medical grade. Upon asking for a partial refund she didn't have the cash I just gave her was extra weird so they had ti put the refund on my card. Do yourself a favor and make the drive to Wisconsin Ave, Chevy chase, Alexandria or silver spring for a reputable place for a facial. read more

Metropolitan Med Spa - After Facial with no extractions !!! Just don't go - Laser Hair Removal Near Me - Lorton, Virginia

Came in for laser hair removal, and Sonia was pretty nice and explaining the overall process and the booking was relatively easy if you choose a weekday. It did seem that they were in a bit of a rush initially when booking because they called me a couple times asking if I could come in a bit earlier. I did wait a little bit when I arrived at my appointment time, but it was only by 10 minutes and the overall visit was pretty speedy. read more

Just got home from my very first laser treatment appointment. It was an excellent experience and I left feeling very satisfied. My technician Sadie was great and very knowledgeable. I had my shoulders, back, butt and a little more taken care of and Sadie was outstanding. I went with their Gold package and will be back for the rest of the treatments and I am looking forward to the ending results. For a guy with a lot of tattoos, Sadie did a great job going around them and making sure my first experience went well. Out of a pain level from 1 - 10 most of it was around a 2 or less, there were a few little zap spots that surely got my attention but those were very few. Thank you very much Sadie. read more

If you're looking for a place that does laser hair removal, then you've come to the right place. It's hard finding a place that does laser for certain skin tones. Customer service and prices are great. They have great monthly deals also. I've gotten great results with their laser. I haven't tried their other services, but look forward to trying the facial soon. read more

I've been going here since July of 2021. The entire staff I've encountered has been nothing but exceptional from day one to present (2023). Maria (technician) has been extremely professional and able to put me at ease dealing with some more sensitive areas. Sonya (front desk) has always been polite, friendly and very helpful. I've recommended this place to multiple friends and will continue to do so. They are EXCEPTIONAL! read more

Sadie did all of my treatments and from the first day I felt very comfortable around her. She used the best technology that would not burn my skin and made sure to record my pain tolerance in between sessions. She would make sure I was satisfied after each session. Highly recommend this place! Alongside the ambiance , scheduling staff is very convenient as well. read more

Had treatments before with barely any results. recently went for another treatment and seen the most results from my other treatments. i do wish the technicians should do some sort of drawing on your legs to ensure they get every spot since the growth i get now is very spotty. in the past, the machines they had were always having technical difficulties but now they have upgraded and are not malfunctioning as much. definitely seen major improvements and im here for it! read more

My mom and I have been coming to Metropolitan Med Spa for years and Sonya, the business owner, has been so amazing to us and taking care of us for years. She is always kind and welcomes us with a warm smile. She has been more than accommodating to us for years and always able to work with our schedules and has even come in on days off and holidays to work with us which I am forever grateful for. Maria and Marjan are both amazing techs and very passionate about their work. They make sure to not harm our skin and go over all the work they do extremely carefully. If you want to go somewhere where the staff takes care of you and also does excellent work, come to Metropolitan Med Spa! read more

Avoid this place like the plague! I had a really bad experience here not with the staff or technicians themselves but the actual laser service! I came here during the time that they had a special going on I bought two full body packages which consisted of 12 1-hour sessions. I was sure that with 12 sessions I would see great results and thought that I wouldn't need the full 12 because everyone in my family has done laser (at a different place) and only needed 6-8 treatments total. I was seeing great results as I kept up with my sessions but once I was done, I started getting hair growth again and it's as if I didn't even do 12 sessions. I was told that I was a great candidate because I had light skin and dark hairs (like the rest of the girls in my family). My sister did laser and it's been over 4 years and she rarely has any hair growth and she only got 6 sessions done at another laser place. Me on the other hand, just after a couple of months my hair started growing back. And no, i'm not some hairy monkey that needs 50 sessions lol. Long story short, after the 12 sessions the guy at the desk casually asked me if i wanted to purchase 6 more sessions. That's 18 total and completely ridiculous! Now that I think about it I feel like he asked me to buy another package to A) make more money off of me and B) because he knew damn well that this laser place sucks and I wouldn't see results. It was a complete waste of time, money, and pain! I am doing laser treatments elsewhere and they were shocked that I did 12 sessions because she said that her clients usually don't need to come back after 6 and that in her many years of owning and doing laser, she never had to do 12 for anyone but it seems like at metropolitan med spa its the norm. My cousin was also doing laser treatments at the same time that i was at Metropolitan med spa she did 10 sessions and is having the same issue that I am. Save your money and go somewhere else it isn't worth it to throw money down the drain for something that doesn't work. Their prices are cheap for a reason -- because it doesn't work. Stay Away! read more

I started out getting laser hair removal on just my face and over the last year has basically progressed to my entire body, lol. Maria is incredible. Her "bed side manner" is fabulous. She shoots it strait and her attention to detail is the best in the business. I wouldn't think of going anywhere else! read more

I've always wanted to get laser but was always super scared because I've heard it can go wrong if you have a darker complexion, but coming here that fear went away!! If you are getting laser, I definitely recommend this place because they are so sweet, professional and make the whole process enjoyable! read more

DO NOT GO HERE...SAVE YOURSELF. If you value customer service, DO NOT GO HERE!!!! They are completely unprofessional and unaccommodating. I purchased a Groupon package, like I have been for this company for the past 10 years. I called to make my appointment and was told they changed their policy and you could only use the Groupon if you were a New Client. I explained that this was new to me and the info wasn't on the Groupon I purchased. The owner, with her unprofessional attitude, starts yelling at me through the phone that it says it under the Fine Print and how she lost so much money previously with Groupon that they had to change it. I literally read her what the Groupon Fine Print said from my purchase and she starts rattling off about what she sees online today. Well, I bought my package months ago, so it clearly has changed. This is not the first time I've had a problem with these cretans but it most certainly will be the last. And to think, I literally just added their business to my ladies coalition referral list. This was a wake-up call, I guess, because there's no reason I should still be coming back to the same place for the same area for 10 WHOLE YEARS, and they're turn over rate is less than desirable. There's a new tech every other month, so you never get the same results. read more

I bought a 5 session laser hair removal package for my lower legs through Groupon and wanted to wait until I finished all 5 to accurately assess this business. In terms of the laser treatment itself: I guess I have very resilient hair follicles because it literally took 15+ sessions at 3 different clinics to even begin to get my armpit bushes under control when I used to get treatments for that area. So for my legs, even though I am still getting some moderate hair growth, I can't completely blame this clinic, and I have seen at least a notable reduction of hair which is great. However, they did seem to go back and forth between lasers for me depending on the technician, and there was one that was used on me was extremely painful during a session that I had to reschedule. The main reason why I'm giving this 3 stars is because of the condescending manner I was treated by the technician named Maria. The first time I came into the clinic she was brash and if I didn't answer questions the way she wanted to hear them, I was stared at as if I was stupid. I didn't know there were other technicians I could have gone to, so I just planned to suck it up and keep going with my sessions even though I did not look forward to my next appointment. After I realized there were other technicians, service was like night and day. The others were pleasant and listened to my concerns. One questioned the type of laser that I should have been given based on my reaction to my previous sessions and showed me a booklet with laser guidelines based on skin type/complexion saying that I was given the wrong laser therapy. My second to last session, I was unfortunately scheduled with Maria at the last minute. She angrily asked why the previous technician changed the laser as if it were my fault. She also kept repeatedly asking if I had tanned when my legs literally had not seen the sun for the past few months. Every time I told her no, she rolled her eyes and condescendingly looked up and down my legs to imply she didn't believe it. I was upset but just wanted the session to be over. She had the audacity to sarcastically ask if I was having a good day when I got quiet, to which I told her that I was not happy that she was basically calling me a liar and that I just wanted her to do her job so I could leave. She didn't have the respect to look me in the eye at the end of the appointment; just turned her back to me to tell the receptionist to schedule my next appointment and I was ignored. My examples are pretty lengthy but tl;dr: laser therapy is just ok, the clinic needs to work on customer service if they want returning clients. read more

I must say that I am very pleased with my experience here. The representative was extremely friendly and answered all of my tedious questions. They also had amazing deals and made me aware of them when they saw that I was buying too many little packages. They just went ahead and offered me a better package deal and I ended up saving more than $200! When I finally did come into my procedure it was very pleasant and very painless! I definitely recommend this to my friends and will be returning here for any of my laser hair removal needs! read more

I got the 6 session package for my underarms. Each of my treatments only last like 10 minutes so it fits well with my busy schedule. I started noticing that my hairs grew back less and less after the 2nd and 3rd session. Right now I just finished my 5th one and I notice that there's only a few stragglers here and there that grow back. They're super thin though and don't grow that long. Hopefully, after my last session they'll get everything. The only negative is that the clinic is kind of tucked away to the side of the hotel. The first time I went, it took me some time to find it. It's honestly a hidden treasure though. The clinic is clean, bright, and all the employees are so so nice! Would I recommend this place? Yes!! I originally thought it would be super sketch because of the low price and weird location, but the technicians are friendly, knowledgeable, professional, and answer any questions/concerns I had. Everyone's skin and hair is different so some people said it didn't work for them, but it's been going smoothly for me (I have light asian skin and dark, thin hair). For the price, I think this is definitely a steal! I'll probably come back to update and complete my review after the last treatment and seeing how the results turn out! UPDATE 04/9/18 So I ended up buying an extra 3 treatments which puts me at a total of 9 sessions overall. I have recently finished my last one and I'm pretty happy with the results. Am I completely hairless? No. But I'm pretty damn near close to it. Because my hair thinned out so much, it became harder and harder to zap those last few stragglers. So even if I still have a couple hairs, they're honestly so so thin and light that you would only notice them if you came within 5 inches of my pits lol. Overall, I recommend coming here, but don't come into it with set expectations. I've said before that everyone's skin and hair is different and will react to the laser differently. For sure though, you will notice a huge reduction in hair growth and thickness. So yea, give it a shot and take advantage of all the good deals they have going on! read more

Just started but so far: Excellent service, best bang for the buck, and the hair has lessened. I'm also having my boyfriend get laser and he's super thrilled. Coralee (sp?) no longer works here. She was thorough and personable. This can not be said for all the other employees / laser techs working here. The last time I came here I was informed that Coralee no longer works and a woman - something with an 'E' (Elaine/Ellen?) was going to perform my laser session. She 'zapped' me approx. 8 times (on a 'large area'), and then tried to get me to purchase another package. The motive now is poor quality 1/2 a$$ work to get you come back and buy more sessions. I've been here 11 times and on my last visit (12th) I'm done with this place! Find Coralee!! read more

Definitely strange how they are located inside of a dental office in a small strip mall. If you blink, you will not see it. Of course, I am trying them due to a Groupon deal I purchased. I am currently receiving laser hair removal on multiple areas of my body, but wanted to get my upper lip done for a very reasonable price as I am not that hairy. The laser they use is one I have not experienced. It sends a shot of something (smells like rubbing alcohol) onto your skin when you are zapped. You can smell burnt hair as well which I am not use to. It is not that painful compared to most lasers and would suggest them if the price is a factor. I am being treated in my other areas which are more sensitive with a different type of laser which causes almost no pain. The other facility I am going to is a lot more expensive than Metro Med Spa. Staff was friendly as well! I initially had issues with booking my first appointment and then I rescheduled due to a schedule conflict. When I tried to do this, they did not have my appointment on the books. Strange, but it worked out. I pre-booked my future appointments and had no issues. They also call to confirm your appointment the day before. Give them a try if you are interested in hair removal. If you are wanting to do a brazilian, I would suggest you use another facility with the new laser which does not hurt as much. Any other areas, I would suggest them. read more

Love coming here, best laser spot in VA! Very professional, clean and always satisfied!

I got the 6 full body sessions but I still have hair growing everywhere. They told me every one gets different results depending on the skin and hair type and that some people might need more session than others. To be honest I expected that I would have better results after 6 sessions. Other than that the staff are really nice and friendly. read more

"Hold your butt cheek" If these words ever need be said to you- this is the place you would want it. I jumped in the deep end and went for the Brazilian. Even though I was mortified that this kind and sweet woman was taking to my bare nether regions- I felt totally comfortable because of her bedside manor. They were great about going over exactly what would happen and how it would feel. My pain threshold wasn't as good as I thought and they accommodated accordingly. They keep the place nice and cool and clean. I was in and out and had my next appointment scheduled and am looking forward to the finished product. I even went ahead and bought the full body because I was so happy with the results thus far! Highly recommend as it came highly recommended to me! read more

Don't go here! First, they run their business out of a dentists office. Weird. My biggest problem was that they only have 2 technicians, which means very limited appointments. I had an appointment scheduled, but because of medical reasons had to reschedule. But when I called they said they had no openings, AT ALL, for 8 weeks, and even then the time they had was very inconvenient. They have clearly taken on too many patients, or just don't care enough about the ones they have. I've been told with laser hair removal you need to get treatments based on the growth cycle (about every 6 weeks), but if they don't even have openings for 8 weeks how will treatments be effective? Horrible. I've done 5 treatments and am ready to just move on and be done with it. The only reason I gave them 2 stars is because the 2 technicians they do have there are very friendly and knowledgeable. read more

This place is by far the worst place to deal with. I purchased a couple living social specials with this merchant a few months ago and ever since then, getting a hold of them is extremely difficult. They never answer their calls. The hours on the website are completely false. They claim to stay open during the hours they have on their website and when you call, most of the time they are closed or never answer calls so you have to leaver a message. When I finally got a hold of them the first time, they told me there was no availability for over a month so I waited. I called again and again to get a hold of them and they told me i had to wait another two months! I now have waited about 4 months and not one appointment. Rude staff (whomever answers calls), does not communicate well at all. I am paying for the services and they keep turning me away to wait for months. I highly doubt they can't fit me in anytime. I immediately got my money refunded and all I have to say is save the headache from this shady place... go else where. read more

I bought their laser hair package off Living Social. Just had my first appointment after having to wait over a month to get an appoinment. The place is in a small strip mall, in the same office as a dental practice. It is so weird. You are getting laser treatment with the sounds of suctioning in the background, not necessarily relaxing. Silver lining was the laser tech, I'm not sure of her name. She was very friendly, attentive and knowledgeable about what she was doing. Also, the laser machine spits the cold liquid with each buzz, which I prefer to other machines that do not offer that option, its somewhat soothing. I will definitely be back to at least finish my package deal. If you can get over the odd location and the long wait to get an appointment, it is worth the treatment. read more
