I called and asked to have them pack and move as I am a current cancer shut in. I started with one lady who gave me a quote, to which I added $500 for anything I'd forgotten. When I called back to let them know about the chair lift, the man who had apparently taken over said the original quote didn't include packing and updated the quote. I.have paid two deposits now mind you. I found at least 4 empty boxes taped and moved. They charge by the box count and those folks got a nice tip. If only I had paid more attention. Closet and medicine cabinet that we asked specifically to be packed were left untouched, items were put on the floor and left on a book shelf that spanned 2 walls. The movers did not move everything because they didn't pack the truck right. We've made several trips to complete the move. They left hinges off of doors and lost screws to a dresser mirror. They hooked up the washer but left the connection loose to the point of leaking and didn't bother to hook up the dryer at nor did they mention that fact. They also put a recliner back together incorrectly, so it is now a piece of junk. Again these guys got a nice tip. Everyone was friendly enough, just not very thorough. When I called to mention these things he automatically jumped to I was accusing them of stealing and was not very empathetic to my situation and apparently didn't really listen to me and offered nothing to rectify the issue. I'm writing this about this company's claim process. I moved at the end of October, 2022. The movers dropped my leather couch on concrete steps, luckily it did not get ripped but there were scratches all over it. The guys doing the move never mentioned the damage but I noticed it after they left and called in to report it immediately. I filed a claim within a week, after a month I heard nothing when I called they said they had it but now they would start to process it, 2 weeks later I called again and they said they needed pictures of the damage. That was a Friday so on Monday I text over 8 picture and confirmed that they git then. 9 days later I called again and was told it had been processed when I asked when they said the day before. I voiced my anger that I felt they had been stalling paying the claim for 2 months. I was told to have a nice day and hung up on. please avoid this company they will not make good on damages.! read more

The move was okay. The guys were pretty impatient both over the phone and in person. I needed a little bit more time to pack my things because I didn't realize they were going to show up at like 8 AM. I will say they were friendly and they got right to work. They were a young crew of three. They were very friendly to my mom. I was moving out of my mom's place. They gave my mom some recommendations on moving companies which I think might have helped her. Well so the guys went back to their truck for a few minutes but they said they were going to charge me by the minute. They said my move was light and easy. I was literally only moving a few miles away to a one bedroom apartment. Anyways later they just barged in and started moving stuff without my permission. I was almost done packing my things I don't know why they couldn't wait. But I had left everything out including my personal belongings which I shouldn't have done. Later I met them at the new place. They had already started moving my stuff up the steps. So I unlocked the door for them. They asked me where I wanted everything. Well so when they were done he calculated the hours which it was only 2 hours. They wanted $20 tip for each of them which is $60 total. That was added on to the around $640 total. So almost $700 for a quick easy move that took only a couple hours. Then I also noticed that the guy had stole $40 out of my wallet when I had left it out earlier. I realized this when I wanted to tip them. So overall the move was good but they were massively overpriced. Probably would not use them again. EDIT: Hmm so far no charge to my card. Called and talked to Clay (my estimator) & Chris (the owner) to inform them I was missing my most expensive golf club from my set. The movers were not told to move the garage, they had to go to the very back to grab my clubs. They were to take only the crates and the bikes in the front of the garage. Neither Clay nor Chris ever called me back after they said they would. Also, the guaranteed price is only a guarantee if the rate goes up even though Clay informed me that they would make any adjustments the day of the move. They had no problem charging me more for having more boxes but when I found out I was being charged for 2 trips and the move only consisted of one trip they were not willing to fix the guaranteed price although eventually after a lengthy conversation Clay graciously reduced our move by $100.00 read more

These guys were very nice and were more than willing to move all my heavy stuff. My only complaint is that EVERY SINGLE PIECE of wood furniture I have that they moved was badly dinged from either them hitting them on corners or from the drive. I have dark colored wood furniture, so it's very noticeable, especially with as big as the scratches and dings are. A few pieces were dinged so badly it removed chunks of wood larger than a quarter on the most visible sides of the furniture. The lack of care and interest in preserving my belongings was veery disappointing. Now everything is moved, but it's ALL damaged. read more

Do NOT use Metrowide Movers. Unprofessional staff and did NOT complete our move. The staff was very slow and not efficient, taking breaks during their work, therefore the move was NOT completed in the scheduled timeframe(hourly rate). They showed up exhausted from a previous move, complaining about their work load. They scraped our wood floors with their dollies, fingerprints on the walls and broke 2 kitchen bowls. They left 1/3 of the furniture in our old home and NEVER completed the job. We ended up moving the items ourselves. I spent 57 minutes on the phone with the owner, who took ZERO accountability for his team members and like he specifically said: "I am comfortable with the fact that my staff DID NOT complete the job and got paid for it". They were short staffed and the owner, Chris, admitted they were having challenges staffing it, yet accepted the job. UNETHICAL and UNPROFESSIONAL to receive money for a service not completed. I used Metro Wide Movers recently, and these guys actually made moving fun. I have moved quite a few times over the years and have never been so impressed as I was with them. They send out Jesse, Cody, and Isaiah. They called me to give me a heads up they were on the way which I appreciated not having to wait around. They introduced themselves and started moving right away. They had my place loaded up in a quick 2 hours. I had a challenging piece to move (weight set) and they knocked it out quickly. Their goal was 100% satisfaction from the beginning and they met it by the end. The guys were awesome movers but they also had great personalities with their quick humor. I enjoyed dealing with Heather in the office as I had to reschedule twice due to closing issues. She made the adjustments and handled everything professionally. Thanks for the great work! read more

PAY UP FOR A BETTER MOVING COMPANY!! The move was a disaster from the beginning. I should have told them to stop after the first 30 minutes. They damaged 3 doors in the process. Tilted an 1800's buffet on it's side and scuffed it up. Fell with a tool box. They did not use moving blankets and scraped and scuffed up the entire lid of a freezer. Did not use moving blankets to protect the other pieces of furniture even though they had a whole stack of blankets in the truck. One employee (Tyler) out right said he didn't give a F*&# about his job. Real professional (add dripping sarcasm). They were complaining about the company and their manager. On one piece of furniture being moved, Tyler wanted to take it down the stairs. The other employee then said to take it out the back to not scratch the walls and Tyler shrugged his shoulders (like saying "so"). After they were done and in their truck about to leave, Tyler had the audacity to come back to my front door and solicit a tip and complain to me about not giving them a tip. I called the manager and the owner and "they will have a talk with their employees". No, what I want and other people want is their belongings to not be damaged because some things are irreplaceable. The owner wasn't at all concerned about anything until my husband asked him "what kind of idiot puts an antique buffet table on its end while moving it?" At that point, Chris wants to deflect by saying his guys work hard and he is offended by someone saying they're an idiot. Good job, Chris. Way to take responsibility for the substandard job (that he admitted to on the phone). I am filing claims but I could give a crap less about the $.60 per pound if something is damaged. The owner's (Chris) M.O. is to fall back on his liability contracts, etc. Not to mention they charged me more than what was quoted. I will be reporting them to the Better Business Bureau. There is so much stuff that did not make it to my house it's not funny. I kept thinking that I misplaced things, but it is IMPOSSIBLE to have lost or misplaced all of the missing items. Easy move, low price, honest service. These guys took care of a move for my aging parents 2 months ago. I booked it with Carrie who was great in coordinating everything. The crew that came over was very professional and respectful. My mother can be very particular about how this and that should be organized and where it should go and Jessie (I think he was the lead mover of the crew) was always courteous and respectful. The entire crew was diligent and well tasked. All went quicker than expected too. I'm very suspect of the negative reviews. I personally have moved 4 times in the past 10 years and am very familiar with what can be an arduous and overwhelming affair, so I took on the task for my parents. This group gives you a professional and drama free move. I suspect there are competitors posting negative reviews - notice the posters that only have 1-2 reviews and no photos and the fact that no reviewers name actual employees of the company. I wish I didn't have to give 1 star. This company is incredibly unprofessional and has the worst customer service I've ever dealt with. I will try to summarize (there's a lot!): 1. I was expecting well-groomed, professional movers. The two boys that showed up were not in uniforms and had unprofessional street clothes on. They were stand-offish, refused to explain the contract to my husband, and ended up banging up over 50% of our furniture. 2. My husband and I stayed and supervised while they loaded up the truck. We had to constantly remind them that they were forgetting a bunch of stuff. Towards the end, my husband left for the new house while I supervised. At one point, the movers never came back. Our front door was wide open, many things were left, and I saw them drive away. 3. At the new house, they scattered everything messily around the house with no rhyme or reason. We told them where everything was supposed to go, the boxes were even labeled, but they didn't care. We confronted them and said they weren't doing what we were asking and they told us it would cost EXTRA for them to put stuff in the correct rooms. They blocked doorways with furniture and mattresses. We couldn't even access some rooms. They put a dresser up against a wall with the drawers facing the wall....that's how lazy and unprofessional they were. They also stacked heavy boxes on top of light/fragile boxes that were labeled FRAGILE. 4. Once we inspected the furniture, we noticed gashes, scratches, and scuffs on over 50% of our furniture. Not to mention our mattress and boxsprings were filthy when they promised to protect them and that they wouldn't get dirty. We called Clay who works in the Operations department. The first call he was very nice and understanding and told us how to proceed with a claim. We filed the claim with pictures and everything. 2 weeks went by and we had heard nothing. We called Clay, left messages, emailed, and got no response. I then emailed Kelli (move coordinator) and she gave no apology or consideration for our time, just redirected us to Clay. 5. Finally, today (7/23 - move date was 7/2 and claim was filed 7/5) we got ahold of Clay. He was beyond rude and told us they would not be compensating us and that it was our fault anything got damaged and my husband "signed something that said there was previous damage" ????? NONE of our furniture was damaged before this move. He didn't sign anything of the sort. They then said my husband offered their men a job so they will be filing a claim against us. WHAT. That's a load of crap. My husband gave them his card with his contact information on it in case they couldn't find the house because they were driving separately. Huge difference. Clay was looking for any story to keep from helping us. Do NOT use this company! I hope this helps you stay miles away from using them. Very impressed with this company although I didn't end up moving with them. There was a misunderstanding between myself and the person I spoke with and I was so beyond frustrated that I left a poor review. The owner reached out to me directly and we talked through it. There was error of both sides of the fence and he really genuinely cared to fix the issue and make sure that everyone was on the same page. That conversation makes me wish I had chosen them for my move. I take 1/4 responsibility for my having to leave such a negative review, (1) I waited till the last minute and SECURE MOVING AND STORAGE was booked because they have employees that are honest and gentle with your belongings. (2) Metrowide Movers as that the company ask that you do is search the truck/employees for any of your belongings that may have been "left behind". This I did not do because I want to believe that people are genuinely good. (3) Let the truck follow you to the destination (I went ahead, because I genuinely think people are good) so I guess its some of my fault that things that was loaded unto to the truck from one destination did not make it to the second destination. If you get a gentleman by the nickname "DM" Dolly Master run he will tear up your property, he knocked my ceiling fan loose when moving my mattresses and my boxes did not look the same when they left one property and most of them arrived at the second property. When they want your money and business the emails will not stop coming and once they get it and you have concerns you will not get any answers for emails or returned phone calls... So I paid this company to move and keep some of my belongings. I hope they have fun with them I wish I could be there when karma comes around!!!! read more

There were multiple problems with my move using Metro Wide Movers. As part of our move I paid MWMs to move a refrigerator from the basement in our new house to the first floor kitchen. The movers used the excuse that they did not know how to remove the refrigerator doors and therefore would have to leave the refrigerator in the basement. The company refused to send Movers who could do the job, and I had to end up paying another moving company $175.00 to move the refrigerator. When I informed MWM about the cost incurred to pay another company to do a job I had paid them to do, I was offered $20.00. Also, furniture was damaged. BTW, I contacted the Better Business Bureau for assistance in obtaining a more satisfactory outcome, and that was useless. Do not trust the BBB designation. My husband and I have extensive experience moving. We've moved multiple times in the past several years. We are familiar with several area moving companies and know exactly what is needed, how many movers are required, and approximately how long it takes to move our things. When we bought our new house our moving date was scheduled very quickly and we didn't have much time to schedule movers in advance. We only had two weeks to schedule movers. I was worried because the moving companies that we love and have used in the past were all booked and couldn't fit us into their full schedules (a sign of how great and popular they are). Desperate, I began searching for a moving company that could schedule us on such short notice. Metro Wide was the only company that was available to move us on the date/time we needed. I didn't have any other options so we used them. I first requested a 3 man crew, but they told me I would only need 2, even though I knew we had several pieces that would need 3 men and the move would go much faster with 3. The movers that showed up and seemed inexperienced and young. We did a walk through of what needed to be moved and where everything would go. We had everything clearly labeled, professionally packed, and color coded. It took them almost three hours to load what took past mover only 1 1/2 hours. They struggled with the large pieces and didn't seem to have any sense of urgency with getting the move done in an efficient manner. When we arrived at the new house (only 5 minutes from our old house), they started complaining about all the stairs, how difficult it was to move our large pieces up and down the stairs, and that our furniture was "a b****" to move. All of our boxes were put in the wrong rooms even though they were clearly labeled, making unpacking a nightmare. Our "fragile" boxes were stacked below heavy boxes, even though they had "fragile glass" labels on them, causing several things to break. And we had severe wall damage in our hallways from the crew being so careless with our larger furniture. Theses weren't just small scratches, but huge holes and long lines of scraped paint, some longer than 12 inches long. One of the movers made light of the damage saying " don't worry we have a wall repairman that will come out next week and fix it". The wall repairman never called or came to fix the damage. We allowed 2 weeks and had to contact the company to see when we could expect the damages to be repaired. They told us they weren't aware of the damage. They just acted as if I was being a nuance. They only thing they did do was email me a claim form that I have to complete and send back to them in certified mail. We've received no follow up and their lack of customer service is very disappointing. Needless to say, I will never use this company again and I wouldn't recommend them. read more

They arrived with a quote much higher than what was given over the phone and in email which they refused to honor. In addition to that, the movers were going to charge me per box (which was never conveyed to me they charged per box). Kevin was very crass in his customer service approach when I refused to pay for each box after being told that the total amount should not exceed what was sent to me in email. I actually made a call to Fox4 Problem Solvers on the way to my new location just in case the movers/ company tried to swindle me out of more cash. My experience with Metro Wide was very positive. Chris handled me well on the phone and helped me with determining the household inventory (which I hated doing but understand why it is necessary). We had a few follow up emails to adjust the quote. They called me the day before the move to ensure all was well and to tell me when the movers would be there. The supervising mover called me a half hour before they arrived. We went on a quick tour and they loaded a 2 bed/2 bath apartment in 75 minutes. They beat us to the new address and unloaded in about as much time. All three guys were great and I tipped them accordingly. I hope I never move again, but if I do, I'm calling these folks. Let me start off by saying that three gentlemen who actually came to our house and moved us were outstanding. They were respectful, quick and efficient. Unfortunately they were onsite to deal with an issue I had with Hunter (Sales) and Chris (Owner). Even when I lost my temper they stayed engaged and offered solutions. I would re-hire the moving crew any day of the week. Unfortunately, they work for a company that has lost my business forever. All of my issues, as previously stated, are with the front office at Metrowide Movers. I initially started obtaining bids for our move a month ahead of our move date. We were closing and moving on the same day so it was imperative that we had a reliable crew onsite to help us get things done quickly. When I obtained a quote from Metrowide, I informed them that we would take possession of the new house at 5pm on the day of our closing and would need to be out of our current house no later than 8pm. My sales contact, Hunter, asked if there was any possibility of taking possession earlier in the day to prevent the crew from having too much downtime. I let him know that we would try, but as it stood we could move in at 5pm that night. All was A-ok and he just asked that we let him know if that changed. He told us that our crew would arrive to start loading between 12 - 4pm and we put down a deposit. The morning of the move I received a call from Hunter asking how the early possession was going. I let him know that we still hadn't been given permission to move in early but that we would follow up at closing. Again, "no problem, just let us know". At 10am I received another call from Metrowide saying that our crew was getting done with their first move early and would be arriving at our house around 11am instead of the window of 12 - 4pm. I told them that we still weren't cleared to move in early so they might want to tell the guys to hold off a while (no warning here either). When our moving crew arrived on site at 11:30 the first thing they let me know was that they might not be able to move us unless we could get into the house early. This was obviously something I would have wanted to know on the first two calls that day or even when we first obtained quotes for the move. They said I had a few options: 1) allow them to move us in early, 2) they could come back later in the week or 3) they could load us up and hold our belongings in their warehouse. I lost my temper at that point and let them know that Hunter had never told me this was going to be an option, that he knew we took possession at 5pm for a month now. They informed me I should call the owner, Chris to talk to him. Once I talked to Chris he let me know that the crew could not move us in at 5pm and we would need to take possession earlier in the day. He then pulled Hunter into his office where I was basically called a liar who knew this would happen. Hunter had the nerve to say, "I told you that we would not be able to move you in this late". Not once did anyone take ownership of the poor communication and they actually blamed me. Fortunately we were able to work a deal with our sellers to get in early and the three guys on site made it work. But a lot of this could have been avoided and the day could have gone much better if Hunter had properly identified any potential issues and Chris would have taken responsibility or even acknowledged the mistake. I tried to call Chris back twice to reiterate my frustration and never received a call back. My advice, find a company who will proactively give you all the information you need to choose a moving company. Also- for the three guys who moved us, thank you! This was my first time using Metro Wide Movers and I can honestly say I am very impressed!!! On June 30, 2016 Ty (38), Isaiah (39), and Ike (319) showed up on time and they worked hard and got all my stuff from my apartment loaded, then they went and loaded my boyfriend's stuff (which lived in a different apartment a few miles away) and moved us to our new apartment together. I want to be clear, my issue is not with the moving crew, it is the office. We had been quoted a 2 man crew at $75/hour via Thumbtack, and when the crew leader showed up with 3 men, he called the office and changed my quote to $110 an hour. Needless to say my husband and I were pissed off. We felt that we had no choice but to accept that quote, because movers were already beginning to put things in the truck while he was calling the office and changing the quote on the paperwork. I understand that the crew leader was just doing his job, but it's not my fault that I was quoted a 2 man crew and they showed up with 3. I don't understand how a company can give me a quote on paper and then increase the quote by day of due to their mistake. Don't use this company! Their customer service and management is in huge problem, not responsive, not responsible. I gave the full list of inventory and items needed to be moved. However, they don't have that professional skills for the right estimation. They sent a small truck and three guys for my whole house moving. Even it took nine hours charge, only less than 70% of inventory items were packed in that small truck and was full. My king bed headboard was scratched and left a hole. I did not argue with them (i am probably too nice). Then they told me they needed to come on a second trip to complete the inventory and charge me again. WHAT?? It supposed to be completed by using a bigger truck within a half day. it is ridiculous and awful!! So stay away from this company! They gave you a low price quote at the beginning, then rob you later on. read more
