I needed to move apartments and had a last minute move in date that required me to find movers a week in advance. They were able to get me the time slot and day I wanted no problem! The day of the move, they showed up 20 min early which was great to get a head start. I was thinking it would take them most of the morning but they were able to move all my furniture out and into my new apartment right at 2 hours. They were also extremely pleasant and had great attitudes about the whole move. I felt bad as I didn't reserve the loading dock early enough for the move but they were able to adapt and did not even complain. I would absolutely use JAM moving again. They were right on time (15 min early) and incredibly efficient. I had a one bedroom apartment but a lot of boxes and they had to go up a flight of stairs (no elevator) and still did it quickly. Those stairs are no joke either. They only had 2 people but got all my stuff moved into my new house (20 min drive over) in 2 hours exactly. And it was only $295. I was shocked at how affordable it was. One of my little metal tables did get damaged in the move (just a small side bent out of place) but it's not a huge deal and is barely noticeable. I chose Jam Moving because of their reviews on Yelp, but they turned out to be completely unprofessional. I told Jason, the owner, at the very start that the place was a filthy mess and even suggested they wear masks, because the man who was supposed to clean it while I was in the hospital stole nearly everything of value and left it that way. I hadn't lived in the place for two years and had sold the house as is, so I needed my remaining possessions moved quickly before the closing date later that week. Instead of wearing masks, Jason took pictures of the mess & posted them on his company website under my name after damaging my furniture as a way to get back at me for leaving a bad review. They wrapped up the cheap furniture and left the expensive vintage piece unprotected, taking out the drawers & slamming them on top of it, chipping the veneer in the process. After they left I discovered a huge piece of veneer from the side had been pulled completely away as well. They also knocked off one of the legs on my kitchen pantry when bringing it into the house, which I pointed out to them at the time & the other mover said he noticed as well. But when the moving was over and I pointed these things out to Jason, he flew into a huff & insisted the furniture had been like that to begin with & he had pictures to prove it. I knew that couldn't be true, so I asked to see them. He flashed his phone at me, then jerked it away immediately and raged "Keep your damn money then!" and drove off in a huff. We hadn't even discussed money yet, but they had completed the job within the 2-hour allotted time frame. Also, Jason had asked if I wanted a large garden seat as we were getting ready to leave, and I told him that he was welcome to have it. For someone who posted on his website that my possessions were all filthy junk, I notice he didn't mind keeping it. Then when I initially left a 3-star review on Yelp, Jason posted pictures of my filthy old house on his website prominently displayed with my name, as if they didn't need to do a good job if the customer's place wasn't up to his standards. Obviously he just wanted to get back at me for the bad review. He also made the nasty online comment to the effect that all my stuff was junk and I had obviously lived with it in squalor. I guess you don't have to be an adult to advertise your business in Yelp. Any petulant 5-year-old with relatives to give him some favorable reviews can open a moving business. This guy is obviously one of those. So I amended my previous review to one star. I turned right around and hired Scrawny Wimp Movers for the next two days to finish moving my books and bookcases. Their quote was higher, but they were hardworking and respectful, and didn't tell me "Reading is bad for you" like Jason did. I was very glad to give them 5-star reviews for their honest hard work. I strongly recommend you keep your money and possessions far away from Jam Moving, save yourself some aggravation, and choose a company who cares about its customers. No force on earth could convince me to use them again. ZERO STARS FROM ME IF I COULD. JAM MOVING IS MOST DEFINITELY NOT RECOMMENDED!!! read more

I had no problems scheduling a time with them a few weeks in advance of my move. The day of, they were prompt (arrived 5 minutes early) and took the time to assess all my furniture and boxes in the apartment before taking stuff to load. JAM moving responded to my request for a mover promptly. And more importantly, Jam responded with a reasonable quote. Another moving company submitted a quote that stated that their hourly rate started when their truck left their office, and continued until the truck returned to their office! On what planet did they think that offer would be acceptable! The JAM team arrived on time, and worked at a pace that showed that they were there to get the job done, and respected my time as well as theirs. The men were so kind! But they were rough with my furniture and chipped a lot of things. There were only two of them but they didn't work together. Instead one person would take for example my huge dresser by themselves down to the truck, then leave it for the other man to get it in all by himself. My couch was bumped around the elevator and walls alot. The price was really cheap compared to others. They also completed my entire apartment in under an hour. So if you are looking for a really quick at a good price, this is great. But beware of nice items you're asking to transport. read more

I hate giving any small business a bad review, since I know that it can be the make or break factor in deciding if a provider is right for you, but unfortunately my interaction with the owner of this company was worthy of a review. I had booked this company weeks in advance to do a home to storage move. The owner had explained to me the pricing and that if we were to go over the time, there would be an extra hourly fee, a la flexibility in the ending time. When I contacted them before the move, to let them know that the storage facility could not let us in until a certain time, and asked if there was any way they could come an hour later, still get the move done within 30 minutes of the approx time we were given, and offered to still pay them more money, I was told I needed to "get my end together" and he "couldn't move me because he is booked". Not being able to accommodate a request is something I can respect, but when you start talking down to a person who asked a simple question because something out of their control happened, that's where my issue lies. read more

They damaged the cabinets in my boyfriend's apartment, then acted like they didn't do it. The old guy( might be the owner) was complaining the entire time about moving two 1 bedroom apartments. I had 2 Alex drawers damaged as well, I definitely would recommend going with a different company. *** you must have us confused we had no boxes and you we talked to your employee who said you did damaged the cabinet and you denied it while he tried to fix it right in front of us. None of your examples applied to us. It was just a bad move and y'all damaged our furniture and the cabinets at my boyfriends old apartment. These gentlemen were as advertised. 1. Showed up right on time and ready to start. They begin working immediately and hardly slowed down except to take an occasional drink of water or cold Gatorade. 2. Worked their tails off and never seemed to get tired. They did not waste any time and worked quickly always. 3. Always took great care of our items: Blankets over items, blankets on flooring where needed, blankets on banisters where needed. 4. Were polite and courteous. 5. Good problem solvers: no challenging maneuver took them long to figure out or complete. They communicated very well when moving large objects. We used a reputable mover last year who quoted us a 4-man crew, then sent 5 -- and charged us for the 5th without asking us. In the long run, the move seemed efficient enough, but the bill almost gave us a heart attack. However, THIS time, we took a chance on JAM, and are glad we did. My wife and I still can't pinpoint exactly why, but JAM's 2-man crew moved us FASTER than the five we had just a few months ago--and for 1/3 the cost. Sooooooo much happier. I will say that JAM was more urgent with the move, which could be a detriment, but we had no issues. They wrapped our furniture, and were not careless with our possessions. Still, I'd make sure your things are securely packed, because they are fast. Nice guys, personable but not chatty, and proud of their work. read more

I chose him based on the quote he gave, which was significantly less than others in the KC Area. Often enough movers really price gauge and take advantage of movers in a vulnerable situation, but I felt his rates were totally fair and honest. For the record, it was not the least expensive quote I received, but I was confident that his fair price did not include hidden fees that the super-low rates typically do. Jason was also patient when I asked follow-up questions regarding the quote. This move was last-minute and the result of a terrible situation at my apartment complex (review coming soon), but Jason and Darrell 's efficiency and kindness put us at ease after an extremely stressful few days.
