We chose to use Cartwright International based on a friends recommendation of his most recent relocation and positive dealings with this company. I personally dealt with Forrest Schaefer (fcschaefer@cartwrighttrans.com) for the duration of the process. He was professional, knowledgeable, courteous and very accessible throughout the long process of packing, loading, shipping and then processing things as they arrived in the Middle East. Their choice in sub-contractors was also very top notch. Mr. Schaefer maintained his position as liaison long after his company had been paid, which is much more than I can say with other dealings we have had with other shipment Companies. We shipped our entire household and one vehicle with Cartwright. Their fees were quoted accurately and their were no additional hidden fees. Everything was quoted professionally and fully disclosed. We were given a better price with another vehicle shipping company, Schumacher Cargo Logistics, Inc. and used them. This turned out be a huge mistake. Upon arrival through an outsourced company, we were charged excessive fees and then held our vehicle until we paid their excessive fees in full. The original shipping company refused to respond. (See other review for Schumacher Cargo Logistics, Inc) This made for Cartwright's original price to be far better and honest from the beginning. Our mistake and lesson learned. I can't recommend their services more.

From the start, I had to chase them down to schedule anything, as they never reached out. I made several calls asking for updates, but was met with either no response or very vague ones. When my delivery date was approaching, they finally admitted they didn't know where my items were. I spent five hours tracking everything down myself, only for them to try and gaslight me about the situation. It wasn't until I had the companies actuall holding my items send emails to Cartwright they finally acknowledged my things were located. As if that wasn't frustrating enough, I didn't even receive a call informing me the transport across the country would be delayed by another week -- already two weeks past the required delivery date. To top it off, they denied my claim for a broken flower pot, which their movers had dropped, because it was discarded after being damaged. Am I really supposed to pack up a broken, potentially hazardous item? Lastly, they're saying a much smaller less expensive desk is "comparable" to the one they broke. Extremely unprofessional from start to finish.

We have had company moves, overseas moves, and sometimes moved ourselves in a U-Haul. The most efficient way in our vast experience, is not to load the truck until all items are checked off and sitting on the driveway, which was the way Mayflower did things decades ago. Apparently this crew was trained to take items straight into the truck and fit them in as best they could, so they had to partially unload and reload the truck because their packing space was quite limited compared to what their boss allotted for. Poor communication and planning, inefficiency all caused by the owner PLUS lack of coordination topped off by shouting rudeness and maltreatment in the end by the owner... it all adds up to a "never-again" pledge for this senior citizen. I paid 30% higher than I expected from the original quote and they left me frazzled.

That was a week ago. I never heard back. I called the person who is supposed to organize this, but he didn't answer his phone, and we still don't have an estimate. The funny thing is that we hired another two guys (Alec and Trevor) to move furniture for us, and they did a great job. It seems like there's a serious disconnect somewhere.

They said I qualified for a free in person estimate and could have them come out the following Friday. The estimate went smoothly and the gentleman left and said he would email the estimate to us and we could secure it with a deposit through their portal and the info would be in the email. The email I did receive had the estimate for 5 movers for 6 hours but no portal access or way to secure it so I immediately called that same day and waited on hold for an hour before they told me they would have someone from the local office call me. No one called and because of the holiday weekend no one was in the office until the following Tuesday. I called first thing Tuesday morning and they again said someone from the local office would call me. No one did. I waited on hold for another hour and explained everything again and they put me on hold while they contacted the owner Matt directly. When they came back they said they were sorry and something had fallen through and they wouldn't be able to help me with the move anymore. This leaves me with an immediate upcoming move and scrambling to find help. This whole process could have been handled way better and this company was a referral from someone else. I took pictures of all the damaged property hole in my wall. And said why would you not tell me about this? He denied everything. The only thing you can expect to get out of the owner is a shallow. I'm sorry. He did not follow through with our agreement after we had several conversations and did FaceTime so he knew exactly what I had to move. There's excuses for everything with him. He was supposed to have brought two trucks. He brought one and it was a U-Haul truck. It wasn't even a company truck. This is a warning to the public. I would never want anyone else to experience what I've experienced. Now I have hired another company to come in and clean up the mess. I will forgive this company for what they've done to my life. But I will do my part to make the public aware. I don't want this to happen to anyone else.

I had a few heavy big items and they handled them like pros. I was quoted 3 movers and a 2 hour time, 3 movers arrived and were done within that time. My final payment was exactly what I had been quoted.
