Chalking it up to "summer = bugs" I didn't think much of it until a couple of weeks ago, when I noticed them flying in and out of a crevice between my patio and alongside the outside wall near that entryway. I hate bugs. Nothing personal, I get that they serve all kinds of important functions but I get grossed out. Bad. Flying bugs are the worst for me. Fluttering wings of who knows what (attached to something I'm going to always assume has the ability to sting/bite/slime/infect me) making their way towards me doesn't make my personal list of "Top 10 Ways To Spend Free Time" but to each their own. After checking out pricing on the larger national chain service providers for a one-time visit, I turned to Yelp and found Rob with Cloverleaf Pest Control. I'm always impressed with a quick turnaround time, and Rob came through multiple times on that front. My first call was answered quickly, and we had a conversation about what I needed and how he could help. After getting the estimate (which compared favorably to those bigger companies), and talking to Rob I felt confident about moving forward. It's worth noting that I called in the afternoon, and was able to set an appointment for the following day. When that Cloverleaf vehicle pulled up to my house for my appointment, Rob greeted me and made an inspection of the area. Rob verified for me that I was dealing with yellow jackets, and walked through their process to resolve the issue. Very quickly Rob was suited up, and making my problem disappear. It's been a day since my appointment, and I'm seeing zero yellow jackets! The process was simple and smooth from start to finish, and if the need arises again in the future I won't hesitate to call on Cloverleaf Pest Control again.

In our experience the customer service folks and technicians have been courteous and professional. The first couple of applications seemed to go well. They said that the inside of the garage would be treated but they never did. I even asked for them to make sure they treated it on future visits but to no avail. After four treatments they still have yet to set foot in my garage. Most of the bugs seemed to be taken care of by the treatments however not the spiders. In fact, our home now seems to be a beacon for spiders. We get new cobwebs and spider activity even shortly after treatments. Our house looks like it is ready for Halloween with the amount of spiderwebs on the exterior of the house. None of our neighbors homes, and we are in a tight subdivision, have any spiderwebs at all. We had a new, strange but start to show up inside the house. I called for them to come and re-treat for it. They did so, and in a timely manner. That being said, the service technician placed small glue traps about the house. The kind you use for mice. Why they did this for bugs I am not clear on. Recently we have had vegetation around our house dying after the most recent treatment. Not sure if it is related but odd coincidence. The customer service person said that is the first they have heard of something like that happening. I called to cancel our contract and did not have any issues. Again the customer service person on the phone was professional, polite and did ask why we were cancelling. If the spiders could have been taken care of like the rest of the bugs and they completed all of the service (garage) that was promised we would stay with them. Now looking for another pest control service.

Started with sales person saying I had 3 days to…read morecancel and then scheduled initial service for 3 days after contract was signed - zero opportunity to cancel without penalty. Next, nice tech but starts telling me all the things they won't do, like no more bait stations in the pole barn where they are most needed. Bait stations consistently underfilled and running out before next service. Inconsistent spraying treatment depending on the tech who comes - some were good, some not so much. Substandard value for price paid. When I finally called to cancel, CSR immediately starts quoting the contract instead of helping me. Terminating as soon as I can.

Note the UP TO. Now in spring, planning repairs and wanted to try to ensure the rodent problem was over. Signed up for a 2nd look. Squirrel environment drastically changed since first service, two wooded lots now have homes, neighbors have done some heavy tree trimming. Same 5 days of monitoring. Camera set up late afternoon on Monday, expecting monitoring until Friday, or Saturday with late Monday start. Got couple of email notes, no activity on camera. Tuesday was rain day, squirrels were staying home. Valor was out at 8 am Thursday and pulled the camera and noted they found nothing, ending service in an email. Only 2 1/2 days of service. There was no call or contact with us saying they were cutting service prior to Friday / Saturday afternoon - 5 days. Called Valor to ask why pulled early. Said they saw nothing, pulled it early. First service squirrels were caught on 3rd and 5th days. Asked if we'd get a pro rated refund for the 2 days not serviced. They said no. They BOOKED BILL like auto shops or plumbers/electricians - set price no matter how fast they complete the job. They got their full payment and make extra money by moving on to next job early. But with those other folks, their work is completed. Valor said they knew it was done. Guess they talked with the squirrels and got a written agreement. Major takeaway is Valor's determination of end of service when they think so, not any kind of duration of service. They claim the 5 days is an UP TO approximation, they really determine the end, and in our experience, with no prior contact with the customer. Only an email saying they pulled the equipment. We will never use them again, nor would we recommend their services with that kind of business / customer service. We'll just go national next time.

    We hired Wildlife Management Services (WMS) to address a mouse issue in our attic. While their…read morerodenticide treatment initially appeared effective, it ultimately created a much larger and more costly problem. WMS uses bait stations but does not return to remove the dead rodents or the bait itself. As a result, the rodents left behind in our attic became a food source for carpet beetle larvae. This led to a carpet beetle infestation that has since spread into our home. A reputable pest control company confirmed this outcome, noting that it can take up to two years to surface, which aligns with our experience. After multiple treatments, we've been advised that the only way to fully resolve the issue is to eliminate the larvae source by completely removing and replacing the attic insulation--an extremely expensive solution. When I contacted WMS to share this outcome so they could be aware and potentially adjust their practices, the manager dismissed the concern and was unwilling to engage in a constructive conversation. When she asked what I expected them to do and I suggested they educate themselves on this risk, she ended the call. I called back, assuming we had been disconnected, but she hung up again. Based on both the service outcome and the lack of accountability and professionalism, I would not recommend this company.

He was upfront and honest about the reasons they canceled: Covid-19 and a crew accident left them short-handed, and he also confirmed there were safety concerns with North Minneapolis (interesting their staff was on their way when they canceled...seems those safety concerns were more the issue than being short handed). I offered to reschedule so the chaos could cool off and he said he would only reschedule if I agreed to take down my reviews - I told him I'd absolutely modify my reviews if he assured me that the blatant lying of his employee was addressed. I have not heard back in over a week. Do with this what you will, but I will not be working with them in the future. Please note that I was fully refunded.* I do not recommend - this company red zones areas they don't want to work in, then will lie to your face about it and hang up on you if you express your opinion on their behavior. Don't support them; take your business to a company that respects the community they serve and has more than a modicum of ethics. BEAST Wildlife Solutions canceled an appointment for attic inspection that had been paid for and on the books for a month. I received the cancelation call after getting a call from their inspector, and within 30 minutes of the inspector's supposed arrival time. They offered two excuses. The first was that "we've been considering a policy for several months to not do work in your zip code, as the homes are too old and require too much work to address wildlife issues." The second was "we didn't realize where you were located when we made the appointment." Both of these are at very best partial truths, if not flat out lies. They knew exactly where I was located when they scheduled the appointment AND when they took my credit card information for payment - they even looked up work they'd done for my neighbor (and told me exactly how much my neighbor had spent on their services..which seemed questionable at the time). This is blatant zip code discrimination, likely due to the tragedies experienced in my community over the last week associated with the George Floyd protests. Let me clarify: I don't believe they've done anything illegal. But, they absolutely are willing to lie to you and will do it with a smile on their face. In my opinion, businesses that discriminate blatantly do not belong in our city. Hopefully this review pushes a few paying customers (all would be awesome!) to more ethical, responsible, and worthwhile options.
