Only, the entire endeavor took way too long, meanwhile, the house is a mess while you're gallivanting the aisles. Enter Clark Devon Hardware. As soon as you walk in, you are greeted and offered assistance. Even if you are just browsing, others will ask you along the way. If you do ask for help, you will either be taken to the item or shown to a person who can help (as in, 'ask this person right over here,' who sees and waves). The team at Clark Devon is knowledgeable, kind, and no nonsense. They know you have things to do and places to be. They will be happy to help you and send you on your merry way. Clark Devon may not be the prettiest hardware store, and perhaps the big boxes may even have slightly cheaper prices (this is unconfirmed). However, it is my go-to for all hardware and home improvement needs, not only out of a desire to support a locally owned business, but because customer service counts for something too. If I am to offer one smidgen of feedback, it's that I wish they were open until later in the evening. For sometimes you come back from work and discover the closet rod has snapped in two, and you need parts to replace and fix.

I requested that they come out to hang 5 curtain rods and to replace a toilet. I was very clear with them that the toilet needed to be hauled away for disposal. I had an appointment set for a Thursday at 8:30am. I confirmed that appointment again two days before they were due here. The night before, they told me they had another job to go to at 7am and said they would be here between 10-11am. They finally showed up at around 1:45-2pm. Because of the way the building is constructed, they had some trouble finding where to drill holes to hang the curtain rods. So in one of my rooms, I have holes in my walls that they drilled and were supposed to fix before they left. They did not. They also did not remove the toilet. So, I was stuck with a toilet sitting in my office. They were supposed to come back today, a week later, to remove it, fix the wall, and finish some other small projects. I emailed them over the weekend to confirm but didn't receive a response. They finally confirmed at 5:30am today that they would be here at 8:30. No one showed up. So I called. Goes straight to a messaging service. Left a message. Emailed them to let them know they have to be here by 8:45 so I can let them in and show them what needs to be done because I will be tied up after that. No response. Someone finally showed up at 9:30. But I had already emailed them a second time at 8:55am to say don't bother coming back. I will go to task rabbit to find someone reliable to do this work. Fortunately, in anticipation of this happening based on what happened last week, I had already gotten a junk hauler to get the toilet out of my office on Saturday.

We initially came…read morein contact with Chicago Reno when our shower was leaking down into our neighbor's unit, Rene came out within the week to diagnose the leak and patch up our neighbor's ceiling. Then when it was time to start the full renovation, we worked mainly with Rene and Ivan and they were wonderful. They executed our vision completely perfectly and we couldn't be more obsessed with our new bathroom!!! They did incredible handiwork with installing tile, heated floors, wallpaper, trim, and paint. They were always on time, trustworthy, and professional with great communication before and during the renovations. We will definitely have them work on other projects in our condo in the future and would recommend them to anyone and everyone!! Truly 10/10, nothing but amazing things to say!
