Beef n berley soup
Jon B.

Recently went to Metro bis for the fixed menu dinner. No complaints there, it is a beautiful place, with good service and an adult vibe. Food was great as usual. The beef soup was outstanding and my wife and I had 2 different main dishes, the person risotto and the beef tenderloin. Both were excellent, although I wish my risotto was hotter, it was just warm. For dessert we had the brookie, which you can't go wrong. Each meal is about $60 and includes 3 courses. It could get expensive with drinks and appetizers but is worth it if you want to have a nice dinner.

Braised short rib with creamed spinach and Parmesan polenta

The food was phenomenal. The braised short ribs and the chicken and vegetable soup were the highlights. All the servers were attentive and friendly. Three atmosphere was warm and inviting. They took your coats for you in the beginning.

Came here for a celebration dinner with a large group and we had a great time. We sat on their lovely patio. Our service was a good speed and professional. The wine list was a great selection and we got a delicious frogs leap bottle. The apps were fresh. We got salads and spring rolls. The portion of the salad was very small but it wasn't a main course. The entrees were fantastic! Super flavorful and fresh. The salmon and steak were cooked perfectly to our preferences. No one had a bad meal. The desserts were delicious- the pistachio puff was by far the best. The gelato and coconut chia were refreshing on a warm summer night Love this spot and will continue to return

My dinner here, with a number of good friends, was an enjoyable experience. The atmosphere is "upscale homey," perhaps similar to dining at the home of a wealthy friend. The food is well prepared, and the service is impeccable. The prix fixe dinner for $60 includes 3 courses. Drinks (cocktails are also interesting and well prepared) and appetizers are separately priced. I believe there are 5 options per course. All the items for each course will all come out at the same time (of course). You are not rushed when dining here. I do feel that for the amount of food you receive, the price you pay is slightly above average, however when you take everything else into consideration, it is worth it. This is not a place I would necessarily dine regularly, but it is indeed a restaurant I would visit occasionally or definitely for a special occasion.

We were here to celebrate our anniversary. Chose to sit outside which was very nice. Great ambiance, cuisine and service in a beautiful setting.

Went on Friday night. Set three course meal with lots of great options -$60/pp. I had the Braised Short Rib with Polenta, mixed green salad with feta & walnuts and a chocolate mousse for dessert. Had a Basil Fizz for a drink (yummy). Ambience is beautiful-very well decorated. Staff was nice enough and food was amazing! Upper scale dining experience.

What a fabulous find!! We always go to the same place when we're in this area but tried something new and we're blown away! Now, they don't have a normal menu, only a pre fixe 3 course for $60, so know that ahead of time. If the chicken pate is a choice, GET IT!! Amazing. We had the pork loin and hanger steak, both delish. Dessert was average but the pate made up for it!!

Delicious farm-to-table restaurant inside of a renovated house. Have both tasting and a-la-carts menus. I got the tasting menu and it had delicious food. Additionally, everyone at the table got a very small complimentary appetizer because I got the tasting menu as well My first critique is that it honestly did not look like the ingredients were high quality which made the dishes look less appetizing. I think this might have to do with the "farm to table" aspect however. Additionally, my second critique is that the price of the dishes are higher than you might expect Creative and delicious drinks as well 8/10

We dined here yesterday evening to celebrate my husband's birthday. We had never been and made…read morereservations to sit on the bridge. Pretty area but I was honestly thinking it was going to be more quaint and romantic. It was not. The area is somewhat narrow which makes tables spaced close together and it's really not that private. But the space is nicely decorated and if you sit on the right side (which we did), you're right in front of the waterfall. I would try the dining room next time just to compare. Our server Anthony was professional, kind of and accommodating. We started with cocktails - I had a creative gin drink called Dot Dot Dot. My husband loved his Old Fashioned - he meant to ask what type of bourbon they used because he thought it was very good. With the tasting menu - many of the options apparently change regularly though based off other reviews it appears there may be similar options from time to time. We started with their Johnny Cakes which the waiter said the restaurant is known for. Another reviewer ranked them a 7.5/10 and I couldn't disagree more. They were one of the tastiest bites I've eaten in a while. Crispy, buttery and divine. I thought they were to die for. Served with creamy honey sesame butter which was also delicious. My husband doesn't eat fish so for his amuse bouche he had a little puff served with cheese, that was amazing. For his first course - he had the Ricotta Raviolis. They were as beautiful as they were delicious. My amuse bouche was a tuna tartare that was a perfectly balanced bite. I had the Tapioca custard as my first course. The bacon was a bit too smokey for my taste and overpowered the dish in my opinion. It could have used a bit more liquid but it was a unique few bites. For our mains, my husband's porcini risotto was rich, creamy, and full of earthy flavor. I had the bass with cauliflowerini, golden raisin-caper gremolata, Marcona almonds, and a cauliflower purée--thoughtfully composed and very flavorful. The final savory course was a crispy duck breast with port-poached pear, port reduction, and sweet potato purée, which was beautifully executed. Dessert was a pomegranate pavlova--crisp on the outside with that perfect soft, marshmallowy center. A delightful finish to the meal. Overall, the dishes were not only delicious but also thoughtfully composed and visually striking. It made for a memorable experience, and we're already looking forward to coming back--maybe in a different season to see how the menu evolves.

The quinoa salad side dish was just okay, and my husband wished they took a temp for order on the salmon.. also the coconut tequila drink could benefit from a garnish, it was a little blah looking. Other than that the chocolate turtle cake was excellent, as were the carrots, service was really attentive, enjoyable evening.

Our usual gang of 5 stopped here for our monthly breakfast after attending a morning Carholic Mass…read more We alternate among 20 or so towns in northern CT, western MA. Benny's came highly recommended and lived up to its plaudits. My four friends all had the hungry man special....two eggs, a choice of meat, and either two pancakes, two French toast, or a waffle. I don't follow the crowd, and opted for a CYO (create your own) 3 egg omelet (with a choice of 3 fillings...I chose sausage, spinach, and feta). My omelet also came w toast (rye for me) and either home fries or shredded potatoes. Our server, Victoria, was great. Attentive, capable, affable. She kept us caffeinated and seemed to have roller skates on and octopus arms (that's a good thing). Everyone's food looked great, but I really need to describe mine. The omelet was light and fluffy, and soooo delicious. The right amount of ingredients. The potatoes were actually like a potato pancake - crunchy on the outside, light inside. It rivaled those made in a place like Rein's in Vernon. Even the rye toast was perfect. A substantial crust and that subtle caraway taste. You know when you have a bunch of really good food on your plate and you can't decide what to end on. That's how it was for me.. tough choice between the omelet and potato pancake. One quibble - coffee a bit pricey at $3.35 a cup. But unlimited refills. I polled the other 4. Three said 5 stars (even Demanding Dan). Regardless of what they say, for me it was 5 stars!
