Wow. Just wow. These guys just knocked it out of the park. They just put in a new paver patio in my backyard around my swimming pool, and there was absolutely no hang-ups in regards to communication, workmanship, or cleanliness at the end of each day. Nathan, the project manager came each day to touch base with me to ask if I had any concerns or questions. The workers were prompt, showing up every day at 9AM, and worked quickly, taking only 4 days from demolition to finishing touches. My only regret is that I didn't know about this company when I had my front yard pavers done. The workmanship doesn't compare. read more

Our plumber had to trench through about 150 feet of existing pavers to replace our old PVC water mains with copper, which left a lot to be repaired. We reached out to other contractors, but their prices and suggestions felt wrong. One even implied that our job was too small for him to bother with when we asked him to quote a minor change. Rick was different. When he came to survey our project, he made measurements, drew a detailed diagram, and utterly shocked us by providing quotes that included various options on the spot. We really liked that he didn't expect his people to work weekends or holidays unless there's a very specific reason, and that he showed up every day to make sure things were going as planned. So we said yes and the job started when promised, paused over the 4th of July 4-day weekend, and resumed the next Monday. Rick and his guys were super-nice and the project was done beautifully. If I said my experience with Method Paving went smoothly, I would be lying. There were many problems along the way, like having to reschedule my installation date over 6 times for the two jobs (artificial turf and paving a courtyard) and the time it took to get back to me with a quote and a time table for the work to begin. Despite all the problems, Method Paving compensated me for the issues above and they were a pleasure to work with - especially the people who did the installation. We had 3 estimates for pavers for our back patio, walkway along side our driveway, and walkway from street to sidewalk. Two were big name companies with Method Paving being a family owned business. Rick's estimate was competitive but lower than the others, so we went with Method Paving. Rick and his crew were amazing. We had a design we had worked out but Rick improved on it and the results were great. The crew showed their artistic skills and excellent craftmanship in the way square corners were placed and curves made. The crew stayed with the job until completed (about 3-4 days) - not bouncing back and forth between several jobs at once. I do not write reviews very often, but when a contractor's work is of excellent quality and even surpasses expectations, I take the time to write a review. I received a few estimates from several contractors before I decided to have Method Paving remove the old, uneven and badly cracked concrete patio (left after the termite-infested deck had been removed) and install a new concrete patio and steps. Rick Pestana was easy to work with, listened to my concerns, and designed a lovely, functional patio with attractive curved, safe steps leading from the sliding glass doors at the house. I now feel safe walking down the steps and am pleased to have a patio that is far more esthetically pleasing that it ever was before! The only critic I might make is that I was not always sure in advance when workmen were coming to the house, sometimes they just suddenly showed up without any prior notice or even a knock at the door to let me know they were present. Perhaps, due to weather and postponed jobs and a pandemic, scheduling was particularly difficult for the company. Overall, I am very pleased with the work done and would recommend Rick Pestana and Method Paving without any hesitation! read more

Wow! What a great job with installing a 500 square foot patio. The detail in cutting to accent corners and edging is impressive. They integrated the patio with existing retaining walls and other paths to a cohesive design. Attention was paid to slope and to allow for drainage The crew is very hard working, finished the job completely and on time. Rick checked in and was present every day. We were so pleased we had them work on another path in need of repair and to correct a drainage issue in another patio area. We hired Method Paving to put in a new brick pathway (from the sidewalk to the front door). Our current pathway had seen its day and was crumbling before our very eyes. Nathan from Method Paving came to our home and gave us a quote. He showed us various designs we could choose in the brickwork. We contacted Method Paving in April, 2013 after 17 years of living with an ugly aggregate concrete slab back patio which was uneven from tree roots and cracking. The misses had done tons of homework and knew what she wanted. His various crews worked diligently and the attention to detail really shows in our step down and in the leveling of the pavers. Rick came by to seal the stone himself in the end. Previously, I had this company rip out my concrete patio and put in natural stone pavers. The grout between the pavers seemed to have washed out or settled down, leaving gaps. And some of the pavers were chipped and needed to be replaced. Method Paving honored their warranty and spent 5 hours fixing the issue. Apparently, the issue came up because they couldn't use a machine to pack in the grout as it would break my natural stone surface. Good work. At the outset let me say that this is a rave review. I cannot say enough how pleased I am with the work that Nathan and his crew did. The project was a complicated one: We wanted to replace a tired aggregate deck around a swimming pool, take out a built in spa and prep the pool for an automatic pool cover. All the pool plumbing was replaced, the pool skimmer was moved and a pool auto filler was added. The paver work had added complications in that it had to integrate with existing pavers which did not align exactly true to the house, i.e., the corners of the house are not at exact 90 degrees. Results were artistic as well as sound. Great communication. This probably was not the cheapest firm available but given the absolutely superior results I have no complaints. Bottom Line? I will use Method the next time I have a paving job. read more

We used Method Paving to enlarge and pave our driveway. We had an existing asphalt driveway that was narrow and had 10 feet of useless bushes on the side. We got three bids for a new driveway and Method was our pick because the price was competitive and Rick's personal commitment to detail sealed the deal. Rick (the owner) personally came out and spent a couple of hours walking us through his recommendation for the driveway. He gave us a lot of good advice (from his years in the business) and a drawing that detailed exactly what work would be done. He then sent us photos of previous work and a list of driveways that he had done. We drove to all of the properties and they looked gorgeous. We met three of the owners who all praised Method's work. All had glowing reviews and nothing negative. His crew has been with him for years, which also gave us confidence. We soon realized that our porch would look a lot better if it was also upgraded during the paving. Rick also gave us a bid for stone paving that would match our existing walkway. He had a crew of experienced stone layers that was able to interweave the new stone into the existing walkway so that it looked very natural. It is very hard to tell that the walkway had been installed 10 years before the new porch. The crew came out and did the entire job in exactly the time frame that was given us. Our BIGGEST mistake was saying "no" to the sealant. We just thought it was an add-on that we probably didn't need. WRONG !!! By the third day on our beautiful new driveway, there were tire tracks everywhere. I called Rick in a panic and he quickly scheduled the sealant. I personally scrubbed the tire tracks off the driveway. Don't make the same mistake we did! Say "yes" to the sealant. It looked AMAZING after it was done and we have not seen tire tracks on the stone after that. The walkway also turned out great. We had a couple of concerns and Rick personally came out to address them. He had his crew return to remove some spots and it looked great after that. It's the personal care that stands out with Method Paving. Neighbors have commented on how gorgeous it all turned out. We are very pleased. read more

Method Paving was top-notch, would highly recommend. Nathan was outstanding to work with. Man of his word and see's the job through from design to completion. Our job was tricky. We had pavers in place, est. 10-12 years old I assume. We were looking to remove a large raised garden bed and widen a few sections of our yard so our kids could have a larger play area. For our original plans, we initially had three quotes. First company had no idea what our current pavers were, threw a catalog at us and said "you pick." Second company had a fair price but it was more than we wanted to spend. Third company, Method, was great from the get-go. Nathan identified our current type of pavers right away. We were informed they were still produced but the texture was a little different. Nathan sat and contemplated the job with care for well over an hour. He contemplated how to utilize the current pavers while incorporating the new pavers, all while making a nice design. His quote was nearly exact to the second quote we received, but he took much more care and time with us discussing the project. We were defeated as we didn't want to spend as much money as the job would cost, but again, the pricing was fair. Nathan discussed options with us, alternative design ideas and we eventually came up with a design and plan that met our goals and came in much less expensive than our original quote. Nathan probably spent over two hours with us. Job started, demo and install was quick and painless. We had one small issue with one of the a workers which was addressed immediately by Nathan. The new stone matched the old stone really well, we were super pleased. I had pushed for sealing the pavers, because I was raised that you seal pavers after they're installed. It's what you do. It's an investment in your yard, protect it. That said, the older pavers became much darker after the sealant was applied vs. the new pavers. We originally were going to put a boarder between the new and the old pavers, but opted against it as we felt the match was fairly close prior to sealing. After sealing, my wife wanted to kill me. Big contrast between the old/new. It was our call however, and even after a few weeks the pavers have lighted up. Still a contrast, but in time they'll all match up. Nathan addressed our contrast concerns, even experimenting with a few additional sealed pavers to see if we can lighten up the color a bit. Option to put in a boarder is still possible as well. That's above and beyond in my book, he could have told us to take a hike. He didn't, he discussed and provided solutions to the contrast issue. That said, if planning to seal old and new pavers, take our advice and seal a few old pavers first to test the colors. Hindsight being 20/20, this was our one error. We probably wouldn't have sealed if we were to do over again. Regardless, the yard is better than we could have imagined. Our kids have a much larger play area to ride bikes and we now have more space to entertain. We are very pleased with the work Method did at our home and we'd work with again in a heartbeat. It's easy to make a job look good immediately it's finished. Much more difficult is to ensure it still looks as good years later. We had our front yard repaved and a couple of pathways added, in Spring 2012. The estimate was the lowest of the three we received but the reviews were good and there was another example of their work in the neighborhood, so we went with it. Nathan supervised the job and was excellent in every respect. The workers were efficient, tidy and very competent. Everyone showed up on time, completed the job on schedule, and stayed on budget. Two years on the job is as good as new. If pavers aren't properly bedded they can move or subside over time. Ours look as neat as the day they were laid. I also met with the company that advertises on the radio all the time and a few others whom I met at a home show. What I liked best about Rick was that he was low pressure and actually encouraged me to get other quotes. He came up with a great design and fair price for the work. Once they started the job they continued working until it was complete. I started with them doing a backyard patio.
