I usually have good communication with their assistant Emilio but response can be slow especially when trying to figure out when they will arrive and not show up until someone message me late of the delay. The contractors that did the demolition did not speak English well for me to clarify a request so some things went off as planned, but I ended up with a thicker stronger slab. Quality wise, the top finish was really nice but the pour on the first half left lots of honeycomb on the sides after the wood form were removed. After asking if they can honor their statement of customer satisfaction, Eduardo (owner) personally came in to repair it. It was a bumpy first experience, but I am satisfied with the final result. They also clean up after themselves, so that is much appreciated. Thanks.

Unique Pavers was hired to replace with pavers 500 sq. ft. of concrete driveway and 250 sq. ft. of…read moreconcrete walkway. Various tree roots were causing the ground to be uneven especially in the driveway. We evaluated four contractors in various categories: cost, warranty, Diamond certification, which certifications did the contractor have for this type of work, how long has the company been in business, google and yelp review ratings, use of subcontractors, licensed, could they provide a list of previous work performed in our area so we could examine their work quality, how did the sales person respond to our questions and respond to ideas, and do they leave some extra pavers. There are a lot of things to consider when hiring a paver contractor and what do you get compared to the cost you will pay for their service. All of this information was compared. Unique Pavers came out on top and we are happy with the result. They completed the work efficiently, professionally, and created a beautiful driveway and walkway even into the corners. Being in a court, our property didn't run at 90 degree angles so a bit more ingenuity was needed to make the edges look neat. The team of Bill Goff (senior design consultant), Dan Burnham (senior project manager), William (foreman), and the team of Carlos and David, with a few other workers at the end, successfully completed our project on time and within budget. We discussed ideas with Bill and Rick Telly (the owner) came back with updated quotes as we finalized what would be installed. A group chat was setup with us, Rick, Dan, and Bill, so any issues could be communicated quickly. Dan was always professional, was very quick in his text responses, and stopped by once a day to check on the progress and allow us to discuss any issues. The experienced team of William, Carlos, and David worked very hard each day, were efficient, and knew what to do. The workers were all professional and cleaned up at the end of each day. Unique Pavers deservedly earned their 5* review. It was such a pleasure working with them and couldn't have asked for a better team to get the job done.

They completely transformed our backyard to include two patios surrounding a putting green, a low wall, pathways, and new landscaping with fruit trees and a hedge with drip irrigation. An extensive drainage system included french drains, area drains, and tying the downspouts directly into drains. This was important because water would pool in our backyard after heavy rains. We had high expectations because we knew what Unique Pavers did for our driveway and front yard, and they did not disappoint! Rick has amazing vision when it comes to designing spaces. Dan is a great project manager who was onsite nearly every day and has excellent communication skills. And the hardscape and landscape crews really know how to execute; they worked hard and worked together well. Everyone we encountered went out of their way to accommodate our detailed requests, moving a favorite plant, and waiting for a smart lighting controller to be shipped. I could say more but the fact that we are a repeat customer says it all! Unique Pavers is a good value and we highly recommend them.

I am writing this review because the casual observer does not know the struggle. The people who stop and ask for my thoughts, I respond by saying on a scale with craftsmen on one end and laborer on the other, I rate them closer to the laborer end. The contractor said he has in-house 3 teams. I got the C team. Their inexperience showed. I understand the best way to gain experience is to be hands on. But to learn, supervision and mentoring are needed. The supervision was very minimal. The owners were not on site daily. When they did appear, it was mainly to deliver supplies, take away debris, or pickup equipment. Not my job, but I assumed the role of Onsite Superintendent and Quality Assurance / Quality Control (QA/QC). If I had not, I am not sure what the project would have ended up looking like. To their credit, if something needed to be corrected or changed, they did it with no resistance. Their motto is "what makes you happy." I say their motto is "we do it nice because we do it twice." Progress was slow. The contract was signed at the beginning of December, and it was completed at the end of March. I was told at the time of the initial site visit it would take 2 weeks to complete. After the contract was signed, there was no communication for over a month. I was left in limbo wondering on the start date. Would it be before Christmas? After Christmas? Before the New Year? After New Year? Start was not until mid-January. There were many days where no work was being done. In my opinion, a month's delay could be attributed to the holidays and weather. Overall, communication was poor during construction. Days and weeks would go by with no update leaving me to wonder if they were even coming back. In the beginning, communication was adequate. But as time went by, it felt like my project was no longer a priority. To date, I have not heard from them. There has been no project completion follow up. Examples of my frustration: Gutter Downspout - They attached an underground drainage pipe to the end without cutting the angled outlet off. This made the pipe protrude out to such a degree it was a trip hazard. I brought this to the contractor's attention, and he agreed. He even provided me with a picture on his phone saying, "this is how it should be done." The sad part was the job he showed me was also performed by the same work crew on my project. They should have known better. They corrected the error with a fitting I provided, but it was sloppy work. The fitting was not straight and too low to the ground. I ended up redoing it. I connected a 2nd downspout to save myself from further disappointment. This would be a common theme during the project, doing things myself. My neighbors would see me in the yard and ask, "isn't the contractor supposed to do that?" Front Entrance Joint Sanding - The front entrance originally consisted of a concrete pad. Instead of removing the concrete pad, they laid the pavers directly on top. Ever seen a vibrator vibrating pavers laid directly on concrete? It is not a pretty sight. Those pavers were jumping! Many pavers were damaged. I was so shocked and angry; I had to lock myself in the house after witnessing the carnage. What really made me mad was prior to this incident, I spent time replacing chipped pavers they had laid with nicer looking ones. But in short order, all that was undone. They fixed the damage, but the replacement pavers they used were the ones I had previously rejected. Later, I went back through the unused pavers to pick the better-looking ones, and had the contractor redo it. Side Gate and Gravel Path - Last day of work, what could go wrong? Well, they removed and repositioned my side gate. When I realized what they were doing, I was LIVID. It was unnecessary. They should have removed the earth a few inches and backfilled with gravel to the former finished elevation. But no, they placed the gravel on top of the existing ground and decided to move the gate higher to clear the gravel path. When the weather moved in during the night, I could hear the gate banging from my bedroom. In the morning, I inspected their work. A snapped bolt, improperly installed latch, and a damaged gate stop. Once again, it is up to me to remedy their poor workmanship. To top it off, they used my neighbor's yard to store their materials. These are just some of the struggles I encountered. Did I mention the multiple times they had to pull up and put down pavers at one section? I lost count after 4 times. Plenty more follies occurred. There were many smaller issues. All those small issues add up and become a pattern of ineptitude. To end this review, let me say my dream was to step out my front door, look out at my front yard, and experience joy and happiness. Instead, what I feel is disappointment and anger.

They ruined and broke numerous branches while admitting that these plants are very delicate. They rushed the job that should have been at least two hours and finished in one hour. I should have stopped them after the owner told me to go inside and they will let me know when they were done. You never tell someone that's paying you $500 dollars to take your time and do a professional job to go inside. I should have told him to get the F off of my property and hired someone else. I would have been better off hiring men from Home Depot. Totally unprofessional, rushed the job, ruined a couple of plants and didn't give a shit how it looked, even after I showed the owner the damaged plants and all the broken branches only to find more as the branches dried out in the weeks to come. He tells me the plants are delicate, but yet they didn't treat them that way. I will never hire this unprofessional company again and recommend that you don't hire them either. They have plenty of help to do a good job, but refuse to do so. This was a total rip off job to the tune of $500. I'm so sorry I hired this clown to do this job, every time I look at what they did it makes me sick and pissed that I didn't throw them off my property and paid them nothing. I've waited weeks to write this review, in hopes that the job would look better, but it doesn't. Thanks a lot, KAY GREEN LANDSCAPING FOR DOING A SHITTY JOB AND TELLING ME TO GO INSIDE.
