Unique Pavers is an excellent company with fantastic customer service, value pricing, and absolutely top-level execution and results - we can't recommend them highly enough. For years, we knew we needed to completely re-think our front, back, and side yards, which consisted of a cement back patio and drought-damaged, gopher-infested sod everywhere else. We finally used AI to come up with some great design ideas and that gave us the impetus to begin a search for a landscape contractor. We narrowed our list down to three very high-quality candidates, one of which was Unique Pavers. We contacted the owner, Rick, and he promptly sent the designer/salesman, Bill, out to review our existing yards, go over our design ideas, provide his own excellent ideas, and ultimately prepare the initial quote. Bill worked extensively and iteratively with us during this entire process - we were impressed that he sunk several hours into our project without any guarantee of getting the contract. We also wanted the initial contract to contain as much of the scope as we could possibly foresee, while recognizing that some change orders might be required as work progressed. Of all three contractors, Unique Pavers provided the most comprehensive scope, specifically spelled out in the contract. We iterated a little on various components of the quote and the terms and conditions, but ultimately signed the contract without hesitation. We then met Dan, our project manager, and William, the crew foreman, just prior to materials being ordered and work commencing. Dan was onsite virtually every day for at least an hour, and always easily available by phone. He kept us constantly updated on the project status and went over any open issues. William was also onsite every day and was responsible for his group of 4-5 workers. The crew was the same for the entire project, which spanned two months, and they were incredibly hard-working, efficient, neat, and skilled in what they did. Rick also provided invaluable help in choosing and placing the various plants. We can't emphasize enough how pleasant and friendly every single person was - from Rick, to Bill, to Dan, to William, and to each member of the crew. After demo, our project added over 1,260 sq ft of paver patios/walkways/steps; over 3,300 sq ft of artificial turf including a 3-hole putting green; 42 2-ft square stepping pads bedded in crushed granite; a 30-foot long, 2.5-foot high front wall; over 1,400 sq ft of mulch; five new irrigation valves with corresponding PVC pipes, hoses, and drip emitters; 65 plantings of shrubs, ground cover, and trees; 190 feet of underground PVC for downspout drainage; an astounding 5,900 sq ft of stainless steel gopher wire; and 65 gopher wire cages for the plants. This was truly a total renovation and it came out so nicely that there is not even one tiny aspect that we wished we had done differently. The fact that every single Yelp review for Unique Pavers is five stars is not an accident, nor is their Diamond Certification.
Highly recommended--Unique Pavers did our driveway project in October 2025, and now six months later, I'm still overjoyed every time I walk across our beautiful pavers. This was also the first winter that I didn't have water seeping into our foundation and flooding, all thanks to the drainage work that Unique Pavers did at the same time as repaving. Of all the companies I got quotes from, Chris was the only one to ACTUALLY LISTEN to our vision. He asked questions, and gave valuable feedback to bring our idea to life. He went ABOVE AND BEYOND when he noticed the water damage and gave a very reasonable price to address it (in hindsight, this was such a huge value add that I hadn't even considered). He also project managed the coordination with my separate fencing contractor, which I really appreciated. He's timely, efficient, responsive, and extremely thorough. Construction has many unknowns, and it's the way the team handles things that leaves lasting impressions. When the team hit a water main (not their fault, the original was improperly placed), they immediately contacted a plumber to solve the problem within hours. When we had a rain delay, they kept us updated and managed to complete the project on schedule. I also appreciated that the team was not working over time, they took breaks, had a toilet, and seemed happy, which was great to see. Both Chris and Rick came by to check on progress, and also afterwards, to check up on how things were. 100% recommend this company (and ask for Chris!)
We had a great experience with Dan, Rick and Chris redoing our backyard and walkways. As you can see from the before and after pictures below, we started with a pretty gnarly yard that was not pretty or functional and had no patio space at all. The crew at Unique Pavers pulled everything up, put a new lawn down with invisible drains (they work great but you can't see or feel them when you walk on the grass), and laid down a patio and walkway all around our house. The pavers look beautiful and it's totally transformed our backyard, it's actually a space our kids can play in now, and they framed it all with a beautiful retaining wall. Also, and this is important, the guys at Unique Pavers are nice and super easy to deal with. I identified one issue after installation and brought it up with them, and I was bracing myself for some pushback; but they immediately agreed with me and said they would take care of it, and they had the crew our there the next day regrading and totally fixing the issue. I've had other contractors in the past where once the job is done they just ghost you and try to gaslight you if you have a problem. I was delighted that Unique Pavers takes a different approach. They really do stand behind their work and that's so important when you're spending a lot of money on a big project like this.
About two months after this work was done the city came around and tore up the neighborhood replacing gas lines. We called Rick at Unique and they came out and removed the pavers for the city workers to dig underneath and then replaced the pavers after they were done. The city reimbursed us the whole cost. We were the first house in the neighborhood to get their driveway back to normal. Rick is great!

I highly recommend Unique Pavers. They did a long driveway (pavers), a long retaining wall, a multi-zone irrigation system and landscaping on our site. Our job had been lagging and they stepped into a somewhat complicated situation but, without even breaking stride, they helped us turn things around and we are very grateful. Rick was excellent in thinking of solutions for better drainage for rainwater and Dan is an excellent project manager. The quality is high, the project management was strong and communication with them was easy. I felt we were on the same page from beginning to end and would work with them again without a second thought. We contracted with Unique Pavers to do our backyard remodeling based not on referrals but solely on its perfect 5 star reviews, zero complaints on BBB, licensed, insured, and Diamond Certified. We couldn't be happier with the end result. Early in the year, we found cracks on our backyard raised brick patio. Cracks got bigger and bigger over time. We had no idea what caused it until we finally figured that it's the work of ground squirrels. These squirrels were so destructive that it's a major hazard and we're afraid that the patio might collapse one day. We resorted for professional help as to what could be done either repairs or a total knock down. This is a big investment and obviously it's not on my radar but It's an emergency I could not ignore. Out of the 3 we called, 1 ghosted me (interesting). I knew I needed at least 3 estimates before I could make a final decision. I then stumbled upon Unique Pavers. I was skeptical at first with its perfect 5 star rating. However, the reviews seemed to back up the 5-star rating. I was impressed with many of the reviewers taking the time to write lengthy and detailed positive reviews with their experiences. That speaks volumes. Rick, the owner of Unique Pavers, came out for a consultation. He provided me with different options on what could be done to address our issues. He drew up a hardscape plan on the spot. His quote was clearly itemized with details which made it easier for me to add or remove any line item features from the project based on our needs and budget. His vision on the hardscape design was something that I would not imagine I could do by myself. There were items like seating wall and lighting that I didn't think I needed in order to save some money. Rick convinced me to add them back after the project had started. The end result was just beautiful. It cost more but well worth it. Unique Pavers does not subcontract its work out like other big paving companies do. Rick has his own crews. He'd not schedule his crew to start a new job until the other job is complete. Rick's crew was absolutely wonderful. The crew showed up on time every morning and worked hard until end of the day. They did a fantastic job cleaning up when they were done. The foreman, Abraham, was great and easy to communicate with. He's knowledgeable on the entire process and answered any questions I might have. I'm very pleased with everything they did. The end result is just spectacular. I'm glad to have chosen Unique Pavers for our project. Rick proves to be honest and trustworthy. I knew I was in good hands. He's the person who stands behind his words and the work they do. Unique Pavers did a great job with our landscape remodel including full demo, pavers, building benches and setting irrigation. They were patient and responsive through design revisions and changes, the discussed timelines of the work were adhered to. Everything about my experience with Unique Pavers was 5*. We hired them to redo our front driveway and walkway and to add drainage systems to our back and side yards. We love coming home to our new driveway and walkway and have since received many compliments from our neighbors and friends. We no longer have to worry about drainage when it rains heavily. These are frequent reminders that we chose the right company. Rick, the owner of Unique Pavers, is very experienced and attentive. When he came to give us an estimate, he gave us good advice on sewer installation and routing, etc. He also included the disposal of several small trees in the yard at no extra charge. The estimate he provided had a clear and detailed line-item breakdown (materials used, quantity, and the price) that made the overall cost extremely easy to understand. The cost was also extremely reasonable / fair in the context of the 3 estimates that we solicited before deciding which company to use. Considering the quality of work relative to the pricing, we feel like Unique Pavers delivered excellent value. Making a few changes along the way was surprisingly easy and smooth, and we really appreciated how patient and supportive Rick was regarding the changes. John, who helped oversee the project, was very friendly, checked in on the project often, and made project communication easy. Carlos, the foreman, and the workers were very experienced and hard working. They completed the project with excellent quality, in half the estimated time. The work was expected to take two weeks, but was completed in one week. With rain in the forecast, Carlos and his workers even worked on a Sunday (their day off) to beat the rain, which was extremely accommodating and appreciated. We would, without hesitation, use Unique Pavers again for any similar needs and happily recommend them to our neighbors and friends at every opportunity.
I contracted with Unique Pavers to replace my old cracked worn driveway with pavers or concrete. I also needed the side path of the house(which had a shed sitting on dirt ground) properly redone. They did a great job and come highly recommended. I had 5 bids by multiple different companies(1 paver only and 1 concrete only) and Unique Pavers was very competitive. Worked and discussed the scope of work with Rick and Jhon. While not the cheapest they were very competitive. I made the decision to ditch concrete for the driveway since it would take over a month before I could drive on it and there was a risk of cracks. The price of pavers had also come down significantly. I decided to go with pavers(Belgard Catalina Grana pavers with Durafusion color) for the driveway and use concrete for the side path(since cosmetics and weight of shed would not be an issue.) Scheduling was easy. Rick was easily reachable and responsive via phone(i usually just texted him with questions). Crew came on time. Worked on prep work. An unexpected issue came up during removal of the driveway. While tearing the concrete driveway apart, they broke an unexpected irrigation water line sitting just under the old concrete path. They quickly stopped the leak and contacted a plumber to repair the line. They charged a reasonable fee to dig a trench, while the plumber replaced the broken water line the next day. We only lost water to the house for a few hours while they were patching the original leak. They completed the prep work on the front and back area quickly and efficiently. They moved the side shed without any damage. Placement of the pavers and concrete side path went without a hitch. During the construction work, the crew were polite and professional. I saw John and Rick come back at least once a day to check on the progress of the work. Work was done within 8 working days, a bit faster than the originally quoted 10 days despite the hiccup with the water line. The completed work is perfect. My driveway is curved so the edges needed to placed perfectly and the paver curved cuts were done very well. The polymeric sand, color and edge work are beautiful. The side concrete path turned out very well. Nice and clean work. It's been over 1 month since completion and I've only noticed a few hairline cracks(expected for any concrete work) in 3 spots. They come highly recommended.
Unique Pavers replaced our 60-year-old deteriorated brick patios (and courtyard) with pavers, they also added a 6-foot extension to our paver driveway making space for a 3rd car). It took 2 weeks from start to finish, the crew of three worked very hard and did a stellar job. The foreman Angel is a real pro, our front entrance was a bit tricky replacing 3 shallow steps with two 6-inch steps, each with a light, the end result was perfect. Demo on an older property is always full of surprises, but the team handled it really well and paid close attention to the electrical and irrigation conduits. Rick Telly, the owner was very responsive and had an eye for detail, he was very accommodating and patient with our numerous questions. He came by nearly every day and after the project was completed and had Angel address a few minor issues It was a pleasure doing business with him. This was a great investment in our property, we should have done it sooner!
Unique pavers replaced our broken-down backyard patio with modern pavers. We went in thinking this project was mainly a cosmetic facelift. But, after talking with Rick, we realized that this was also a good opportunity to address some longstanding drainage issues in our backyard. In addition to adding a drainage system under the patio, they connected all of our backyard downspouts and routed them to our front yard, which slopes away from the house. This was one of the best experiences we've had with a contractor. The whole process, from getting an initial quote to the day the last paver was laid, was smooth and efficient. Rick did a great job of walking us through the process and explaining our various options. He asked a lot of questions about how we wanted to use our patio and made excellent suggestions. The price was competitive, and our ~500 sqft patio project took around 5 days to complete. Overall, we're very happy customers.

Unique Pavers was hired to replace with pavers 500 sq. ft. of concrete driveway and 250 sq. ft. of concrete walkway. Various tree roots were causing the ground to be uneven especially in the driveway. We evaluated four contractors in various categories: cost, warranty, Diamond certification, which certifications did the contractor have for this type of work, how long has the company been in business, google and yelp review ratings, use of subcontractors, licensed, could they provide a list of previous work performed in our area so we could examine their work quality, how did the sales person respond to our questions and respond to ideas, and do they leave some extra pavers. There are a lot of things to consider when hiring a paver contractor and what do you get compared to the cost you will pay for their service. All of this information was compared. Unique Pavers came out on top and we are happy with the result. They completed the work efficiently, professionally, and created a beautiful driveway and walkway even into the corners. Being in a court, our property didn't run at 90 degree angles so a bit more ingenuity was needed to make the edges look neat. The team of Bill Goff (senior design consultant), Dan Burnham (senior project manager), William (foreman), and the team of Carlos and David, with a few other workers at the end, successfully completed our project on time and within budget. We discussed ideas with Bill and Rick Telly (the owner) came back with updated quotes as we finalized what would be installed. A group chat was setup with us, Rick, Dan, and Bill, so any issues could be communicated quickly. Dan was always professional, was very quick in his text responses, and stopped by once a day to check on the progress and allow us to discuss any issues. The experienced team of William, Carlos, and David worked very hard each day, were efficient, and knew what to do. The workers were all professional and cleaned up at the end of each day. Unique Pavers deservedly earned their 5* review. It was such a pleasure working with them and couldn't have asked for a better team to get the job done. read more

We were so happy with the new driveway and front yard landscaping that Unique Pavers did last year (below) that we hired them again! They completely transformed our backyard to include two patios surrounding a putting green, a low wall, pathways, and new landscaping with fruit trees and a hedge with drip irrigation. An extensive drainage system included french drains, area drains, and tying the downspouts directly into drains. This was important because water would pool in our backyard after heavy rains. We had high expectations because we knew what Unique Pavers did for our driveway and front yard, and they did not disappoint! Rick has amazing vision when it comes to designing spaces. Dan is a great project manager who was onsite nearly every day and has excellent communication skills. And the hardscape and landscape crews really know how to execute; they worked hard and worked together well. Everyone we encountered went out of their way to accommodate our detailed requests, moving a favorite plant, and waiting for a smart lighting controller to be shipped. The estimate he provided had a clear and detailed line-item breakdown (materials used, quantity, and the price) that made the overall cost extremely easy to understand. The cost was also extremely reasonable / fair in the context of the 3 estimates that we solicited before deciding which company to use. Considering the quality of work relative to the pricing, we feel like Unique Pavers delivered excellent value. Making a few changes along the way was surprisingly easy and smooth, and we really appreciated how patient and supportive Rick was regarding the changes. John, who helped oversee the project, was very friendly, checked in on the project often, and made project communication easy. Carlos, the foreman, and the workers were very experienced and hard working. They completed the project with excellent quality, in half the estimated time. The work was expected to take two weeks, but was completed in one week. With rain in the forecast, Carlos and his workers even worked on a Sunday (their day off) to beat the rain, which was extremely accommodating and appreciated. We would, without hesitation, use Unique Pavers again for any similar needs and happily recommend them to our neighbors and friends at every opportunity. read more

I contracted with Unique Pavers to replace my old cracked worn driveway with pavers or concrete. I also needed the side path of the house(which had a shed sitting on dirt ground) properly redone. They did a great job and come highly recommended. I had 5 bids by multiple different companies(1 paver only and 1 concrete only) and Unique Pavers was very competitive. Worked and discussed the scope of work with Rick and Jhon. While not the cheapest they were very competitive. I made the decision to ditch concrete for the driveway since it would take over a month before I could drive on it and there was a risk of cracks. The price of pavers had also come down significantly. I decided to go with pavers(Belgard Catalina Grana pavers with Durafusion color) for the driveway and use concrete for the side path(since cosmetics and weight of shed would not be an issue.) Scheduling was easy. Rick was easily reachable and responsive via phone(i usually just texted him with questions). Crew came on time. Worked on prep work. An unexpected issue came up during removal of the driveway. While tearing the concrete driveway apart, they broke an unexpected irrigation water line sitting just under the old concrete path. They quickly stopped the leak and contacted a plumber to repair the line. They charged a reasonable fee to dig a trench, while the plumber replaced the broken water line the next day. We only lost water to the house for a few hours while they were patching the original leak. They completed the prep work on the front and back area quickly and efficiently. They moved the side shed without any damage. Placement of the pavers and concrete side path went without a hitch. During the construction work, the crew were polite and professional. I saw John and Rick come back at least once a day to check on the progress of the work. Work was done within 8 working days, a bit faster than the originally quoted 10 days despite the hiccup with the water line. The completed work is perfect. My driveway is curved so the edges needed to placed perfectly and the paver curved cuts were done very well. The polymeric sand, color and edge work are beautiful. The side concrete path turned out very well. Nice and clean work. It's been over 1 month since completion and I've only noticed a few hairline cracks(expected for any concrete work) in 3 spots. They come highly recommended. read more

Unique Pavers replaced our 60-year-old deteriorated brick patios (and courtyard) with pavers, they also added a 6-foot extension to our paver driveway making space for a 3rd car). It took 2 weeks from start to finish, the crew of three worked very hard and did a stellar job. The foreman Angel is a real pro, our front entrance was a bit tricky replacing 3 shallow steps with two 6-inch steps, each with a light, the end result was perfect. Demo on an older property is always full of surprises, but the team handled it really well and paid close attention to the electrical and irrigation conduits. Rick Telly, the owner was very responsive and had an eye for detail, he was very accommodating and patient with our numerous questions. He came by nearly every day and after the project was completed and had Angel address a few minor issues It was a pleasure doing business with him. Unique pavers replaced our broken-down backyard patio with modern pavers. We went in thinking this project was mainly a cosmetic facelift. But, after talking with Rick, we realized that this was also a good opportunity to address some longstanding drainage issues in our backyard. In addition to adding a drainage system under the patio, they connected all of our backyard downspouts and routed them to our front yard, which slopes away from the house. This was one of the best experiences we've had with a contractor. The whole process, from getting an initial quote to the day the last paver was laid, was smooth and efficient. Rick did a great job of walking us through the process and explaining our various options. He asked a lot of questions about how we wanted to use our patio and made excellent suggestions. The price was competitive, and our ~500 sqft patio project took around 5 days to complete. Overall, we're very happy customers. read more

I found Unique Pavers through their positive online presence and high readings for client satisfaction, diamond certified, and Better Business Bureau certified. I have a small townhouse with two patios, one with concrete and the other was red brick that I have never liked. Unique Pavers project manager Chris listened to what I was envisioning, created a fair estimate, provided very prompt and reliable response to questions, and was an ongoing presence during the project. My job required moving an air conditioner that I was very worried about, I was told by another company that it couldn't be done. But the HVAC guys came in, removed the AC before the project, we stored it safely and reattached it beautifully after the project. My project included irrigation and electricity that I didn't have before, and I love the outcome. It was such a pleasure to deal with Chris and owner of Unique Pavers Rick. I found them to be above board, honest, reliable, and responsive. I'm sorry I don't have another project to be done because I trust them as contractors and I've already referred them to a friend of mine who has also contracted with them. After moving to San Jose, I decided it was time to make the most of the beautiful weather by remodeling my backyard. Before, it was just a big space covered in mulch, and we weren't really using it to its full potential. Unique Pavers turned out to be the perfect choice for the job. Yesterday Unique Pavers finished my walkway project in Menlo Park. I cannot say enough about the crew and how hard they worked, how well the job was executed, and how well they cleaned up everyday. I scheduled the job in June and cannot believe it is now done. I have attached before and after shots. Unique Pavers is the only Diamond Certified paving company listed in their booklet, this means they have been vetted, researched and customer ratings compiled, I am so pleased. read more

Rick Telly owner of Unique Pavers and his crew demonstrated upmost professionalism throughout project. Rick and his architect took our makeshift sketches and verbal paving ideas and turned our front yard into a beautiful paved patio with beds for gardens. After completion, we asked him for recommendations for our large entrance walkway which looked outdated next to our new patio. I was very nervous about what I think of as a big ticket item. I did some research and extremely happy with my choice. I definitely got what I paid for. Richard came out for a consultation at my home. He created an excellent hardscape plan. He shared with me options and a vision that I would not have ever been able to do on my own. Shortly after he and his crew showed up and did the work it was absolutely awesome. Richard kept me informed every step of the way. I found Rick and Unique Pavers by chance but immediately knew they were the right team for the job. We got a full backyard remodel with Rick and team laying 1,750 sq foot of pavers, a seating area and lighting. We were also building a studio and Rick introduced us to everyone we needed to complete the job (laying concrete, builder, architect). His team were punctual, polite and Rick was always upfront on pricing (which was more competitive than others). We're loving the backyard and spent most of last summer there. I highly recommend Rick and Unique Pavers for landscape renovation. On the very first site visit, you can already tell Rick is a master of his craft. Immediately he started to think about ways to set up drainage and lighting system, and also offered comprehensive protection of the construction site. His quote was clearly itemized with details. Though the price was not the lowest, I decided to go with him because of his professionalism and good words from my designer and his previous clients. The whole project took 4 weeks and the experience was pleasant and smooth. Rick's team is highly specialized with 4-5 different crews of paver installers, gardeners, electrician, etc. Each team came in for a few days working on different parts with efficiency. Rick visited the site now and then to check and unblock progress. He was reliable, reasonable, and communicating in a timely manner. For example, we once had different opinions on how to handle the extra thick concrete slab. Upon discussion, Rick agreed to hold a high bar for project quality and absorb the extra labor/equipment rental cost (thank you!). This is just one of many examples of how they deliver high quality work. At the end, my new Zen garden and backyard turned out to be artistic and fabulous! I did my research. Interviewed at least 5 landscapers. Rick Telly was responsive, prompt, a good communicator, knowledgeable, and very accommodating. By comparison, his bid for my project was comprehensive and very competitive. I should also mention that his work crews were extremely pleasant, hard-working, very customer-sensitive, and worried about the details. And the place was immaculate when they left. I had Unique Pavers (UP) done our landscaping project recently. They installed ~1500sf of pavers, 700sf of bluestone patio, ~1500sf of artificial turf, and ~1400 sf of mulch/planting. Overall, I am very happy with their work and the resulting landscaping. Highly recommended! My landscape designer recommended Unique Pavers to us. I sent the design to three different contractors for quotes. The quote from UP was the best (comprehensive, detailed, itemised clearly), and the price was competitive (not the lowest). Most importantly, Rick was very professional and always answered my questions and requests promptly (before and after the contract was signed). He also gave me his professional advices and opinions. UP's workers always consulted and asked me whenever a decision was needed to be made on some details. They come to work everyday and were efficient, clean, and pay attention to details. The whole project took about four weeks. It was a pleasure to work with UP even though construction project is always stressful. read more

I was referred to Unique Pavers from my landscape designer. From the initial consultation I knew that Rick was the man for our project. Rick came prepared with a blow up of our design and was able to speak to every aspect of the project. Our project included having pavers installed in the driveway, replacing a sagging retaining wall to the right of the driveway, leveling the front yard by installing a retaining wall, and replacing the lawn (dirt) with mulch and cobble stone. After a few more quotes from other contractors, I was glad to find that Rick's prices were competitive. We were excited to hear that Unique Pavers would be able to start work on our project in a few days after signing the contract. We learned that Rick has several teams working for him and is able to juggle several projects simultaneously. The project took his team 3 weeks to complete which was exactly how long Rick had initially quoted. In the 3 weeks Rick had teams come everyday. We even saw them on the weekends occasionally. Rick stopped by everyday to check up on progress. That was nice because occasionally I'd have questions or didn't like how something looked and he was able to provide me with answers.
