Good solid meal. Not as nuanced or fancy as Inconium (which seems to be the standard by which our hotel measures food in Sintra) but I'd give both a 4 star review for their category. The style here seems to be more traditional Portuguese comfort food and they do this well. We chose the soup of the day and salad (both good) followed by the rice with monkfish, clams and shrimp in a tomato-based sauce. The shrimp was the best we've had to date and the dish as a whole was hearty and well-suited for the end of a day spent hiking and wandering. The cheesecake we chose to follow was much lighter than the New York style but pleased both the cheesecake lover and the cheesecake skeptic in our party. The wine we chose ended up being a rather basic white but it worked well with everything. Add to that bread, bottled water, and a hot chocolate which I suspect may have been Swiss Miss (ah well) and we came away more than satisfied. Grand total for us was a touch over 50E but one could eat well here for much less. Worth a stop. read more
