I came here a few weekends ago for brunch. I had a gluten free crepe, and while it was good, there was something that irked me. I am dairy free and gluten free and I ordered the one crepe that didn't have cheese on it on the menu. I don't think I misread because I read that menu about 5 times. When I got my crepe it had cheese on it. I was sad - and didn't realize it had cheese on it till I was halfway through one of them. The coffee was good though, it was Stumptown, but the mocha I got was a little grainy tasting as well. Overall it was good, though a little pricy, I think. 20 bucks for two crepes and two mochas? Maybe I'm stingy but it seems steep. Maybe the cheese thing was a one time incident, and I'll review them again when I make it back there. read more

The last couple times I've come I've been really disappointed. I just tried the turkey feta with roasted red peppers. I couldn't get passed the amount of crushed black pepper on it. That topped with a single slice of turkey for $8 was REALLY UNAPPEALING. The sweet crêpes aren't too bad, but if you're paying the amount you pay, please for the love of food, feed me $8 worth of the turkey I paid for instead of pepper! I wish I had a better experience this time! read more

Water is great. No ice, but that was probably because of the below freezing temperature outside. Hopefully they have ice in the summer. Oh and their crepes are delicious. I recommend the vegetarian crepe for savory and the cinammon dulce in the sweet. read more

For such a decadent coffee house they play a lot of 80's cheese like REO Speedwagon, which sets a mood of casual chill. The crepes here are amazing. My personal favorite is the French Club with Boars Head bacon and apricot jam. It is a bit loud and chaotic, but I still like bringing my computer here, popping in to the wi fi and writing Yelp reviews. Writing a review of a place while you're there. The coffee is excellent. However... to cut down on the losers and cheapskates taking advantage of unlimited refills, they had to limit it to a one refill per purchase. (but every now and then they wink and know I am a yelper and they pour me a third cup and call me stud!) I am lying about the stud thing, but i do scam a third cup every now and then... The flowers on the tables were gorgeous. The only reason I get them a 3 is because the batter to me seemed to have an after taste. I love Vivace in Portland and that is what I was comparing them too. We got a sweet and savory crepe to split. The savory one was actually pretty good. I think it was turkey, and cheese. Not sure what else's was inside. The Nutella one was just ok. I also got a white mocha that I was not impressed with at all. When I got to the bottom it all made sense since all the syrup was right there. Overall, great place in Vancouver but I would prefer Vivace over this any day. read more

Mon Ami is in its own category as a coffee/crepe shop. There's nothing pretentious about the place as the name might imply. The staff are sociable and genuinely care about the growing community. I always feel like family when walk through the door. They offer french press coffee which you can't find at most Starbucks and Ilike the espresso they use. As for the crepes, they are sweet and savory treats presented like in a 5 star restaraunt, except the staff have tattoos. Can't think of a cooler setting. read more

So far we've only been in here for a few items, most frequently the mimosas and the crepes. For starters, the crepes are fantastic. They're just the right size and come with a little salad. They also offer gluten free crepes, and I can't tell the difference from a regular one (it's been years, granted) but that's a good sign. As far as mimosas go, well, you can't really mess that up, but they pour a nice big glass, which makes it worth the money. I've also had a black tea from here that was delicious. All in all, the prices are pretty standard. My only critique is the seating layout... we've eaten at a table for two before which is right next to where people order, which is kind of a bad location. This place is sooo Van-funky! Mismatched hand me down furniture, little plastic toy animal as your "order marker" for the table, stumptown coffee on a fancy espresso machine, crepes everyday or waffles on Sundays. And its in the funkiest 'hood called Uptown Vancouver! Come on a Sunday for a waffle and a cappuccino and start your day of rest off right. Read a Willamette week, a good book, bring a buddy, or people watch. They only do waffles on Sundays, but everyday they have crepes, which are tastey options too. The savory crepes are served with salad. I've had the pear and brie, cinnamon and sugar, strawberry crepes. Watch their board for crepe or waffle of the day. Here's a tip: ask for the waffle to be a crepe flavor... even if its not on the menu, they'll hook you up! I like to get cinnamon sugar waffles. =) You come here to funk it up, Vancouver style! read more

I wanted to come here for several years. I live in Tacoma, and saw the owner perform at the 2008 West Coast Barista Competition. I made it down to Vancouver and snuck away from the family for some coffee and morning grub. You can tell a place is doing something right when it's packed and there is a line out of the door. Here is my two cents: I think it's overrated. When you have to wait over thirty minutes for a cinnamon and sugar crepe, you're doing it wrong. When you serve weak americanos, you are doing it wrong. When you are getting customers based with poor service and coffee, maybe as a business you are doing it right, for you. I was saddened by my experience. I expected more, like an amazing cup of coffee. There were at least four employees behind the counter. However, even with that many people, they were having a difficult time managing a smaller crowd than the average Starbucks. I am not an ass and I will try this place again. Businesses have off days, but it sounds like this place is spitting out experiences like this to others. read more

This is one of my favorite go to spots! I have happily truer all of the crepes on the menu ( I have been here a lot). I couldn't complain about any of them! I always have a caramel hazelnut latte and it is so perfect! Not too sweet! Sometimes the service is a little slow but the wait is worth it! I highly recommend this place to anyone! Located on Main Street in downtown Vancouver in an old storefront, Mon Ami is a wonderful privately-owned cafe that serves a variety of coffee, tea, chai, and most importantly, CREPES! My SIL was raving over this place, so I stopped in to get a gift card and had lunch. I'm so glad I was hungry because the salmon crepe I had was huge! It was amazing! They will be on my list for both coffee and lunch/ snack. Their atmosphere is comfortable, casual, and chalk boards feature their latest creations, menu items, and descriptions. Staff was polite, attentive, and really nice. Vancouver is so lucky to have a place like this! It took me forever to try them because they close at 5 and my weekends are packed. I've been here 3 times for take out and I've always been really happy with my crepe orders. We haven't had any of the more savory selections but the breakfast ones have been great. I would advise that on weekend mornings, this place gets pretty busy and if your doing takeout, I suggest calling ahead or plan on getting a coffee and hanging out for a little while. Great place to get a cup of coffee and read the paper as you're waking up. It does have a very good, chill vibe to it, which makes it a good place for sleepy-eyed caffeine addicts that haven't yet woken up. Laid back, with good (Stumptown) coffee, and comfortable seating inside (with a few spots outside). Don't come if you're craving a huge artery-clogging breakfast, although their crepes looked pretty good (I didn't have one on this trip). read more

Not to shabby. Nice little place on the main drag; I like being able to people watch. For the first time, ordered a spicy chia and it was actually spicy. Had the spinach, bacon, and tomatoe crepe with Swiss. It was good and hearty, However the paper thin bacon doesn't add much to the flavor; couldn't really tell if there was bacon in it until I opened it up. I know I have no say in what products they buy, but some nice thick cut bacon from a local butcher might do well, or maybe peppered bacon. Either way, still a good place to sit for a bit and watch the world go by. read more

this is a yummy CREPE shop! you can eat dessert or breakfast sorts...all i am sure are good! i had a pumpkin one in autumn...mmm. we loved to watch them being made! ----------------------------------------------------------------- So I went there the other day, and they had Key Lime Pie crepe! Oh it was nice sour and sweet! But the woman forgot it, and maybe 15 minutes later my friends said go tell her, so she said the paper must have got stuck to another one. :/ She gave me a card for a free drink. Lovely little breakfast/brunch spot on Main St. I met a friend here to have a book club meeting and it was the perfect setting. The ambiance of the place is warm and inviting - comfy chairs and couches give it a home-y feel. The crepe offerings are varied in both the sweet and savory categories. I had the vegetarian savory crepe with Brie. It was a total home run! I also had a chai latte and my friend had a mocha latte with her crepe. We probably sat there for close to three hours and nobody bothered us. We had to bus our own dishes, and get our own water, but this added to the community feel about the place. The place was always full without being overly full, and patrons were respectful. I would definitely come back here if I end up in Vancouver again! read more

From the moment I walked in the door the two women working there ignored me and gave me the worst service. When I sat down to wait for my food it was apathetically (borderline rudely) handed off to me. I took two bites of the crepe, three of the salad, and found myself craving flavor and texture. I'll compare the crepes to bland, tasteless, spongy... well, sponges. I hate passing up such a cute spot (in such a great location), so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and say they were having a bad day. My friend and I came for lunch a couple weeks ago, and decided to each order our own savory crepe, then split a sweet. The pear, brie, and ham was my favorite! The salmon was okay--not enough salmon in there, lots of cream. The raspberry bacon chocolate was awesome. Definitely not a combination I would've thought of, but definitely glad we tried it. Stumptown Coffee and tasty crepes. Enough said. This is the kind of place you'd rave about if it was south of the Columbia, but it's right here in the 'Couve. Everything's great. I stop in at least once a month to check out the new artwork on the walls. It's a good way to fuel up before heading out to the Vancouver Farmer's Market. The prices are pretty reasonable. You can get out for under $10 easily and feel you should have spent twice as much. read more

Food is good. Coffee is good. Customer service is eh, but I don't really care unless they are rude. They're not rude, but I also don't feel valued after how much I spend on food. So the real issue i have with this place is how long you have to wait on food. This isn't my first time here, and I never usually rate places based on first visits. My bf and I have been numerous times now where we can confirm that the wait time is ridiculous. They're not slacking off, it's just that they're kitchen is too small. They only have two crepe makers with a line of people. I'm hoping that they're just waiting for a location to open up that will give them more room to grow and hire more employees. They really need to because they're food is good, just expect an hour or so to order, wait, and eat. read more
