Beef birria

With just a few adjustments, this review can pivot from 3 to 5 stars. There are so many cool things about Mestizo Brew Cantina. Let's talk the good stuff first: cozy place where you feel at home. I love the bright colors, all the plants, indoor and outdoor seating areas and when we were there, the live music. The staff were friendly and on point with service and taking care of folks. The drinks were really good as well. I loved my Paloma, not too limey or sweet. His Coin marg was also tasty. And we spied some really good looking house made sangria. What needed some edits? The food. We had the beef birria, so full disclosure didn't sample a lot from the menu. The birria was bland and needed some seasoning, def more salt. It was meh for us. We were sad, lol. The chips and salsa were solid, but for us both the birria bumped the rating down. The bright side? This is an easy fix. Fingers crossed management is reading this.

New place, had to try. The folks here are pleasant and make you feel at home. We popped in for some food and brews and it was a good date night. We wanted to try many things so we ordered Pupusa - El Salvadoran corn tortilla stuffed with cheese, grilled and then topped with slaw and salsa; Llapingachos - Ecuadorian potato and cheese cakes with red onion escabeche, tomatoes and salsa (I loved these!!); Grande chips and salsa - house made chips with three kinds of salsa, all tasty. The beers are well made and tasty. This will be a repeat place for us.

Here on vacation and this place was near by my AirBnB. Great place to hang out with friends and the atmosphere is chill with great low key Mexican music. You order your food at the counter and the food is delivered to your table. Service is great and the nice lady who took our order answered all our questions about the food. The carnitas was the fav at our table but all was yummy. The Salsa de Aguacate (mild avocado salsa) is delicious. Guava Rose and Red Sangria are both really good and both are only served on weekends. Must try when your in town, you won't be disappointed.

Staff was super friendly. Especially the lady who took our order/served/bartended us. She was kind, informative, and very helpful to with the team. For food, Llapingnachos was not for me, I needed more salsa and wouldn't mind some meat (it's a vegetarian option). Tacos had a lot going on but I'm a simple taco person so this could be great for someone else. Meat was nicely cooked. Tortilla had a nice crisp. Birria was pretty good, the jus was more on the oily side and lacked flavor, I wouldn't mind eating these with salsa instead.

Amazing food, fantastic beer, and friendly staff. I wish I could eat more to try more taco's. I'm looking forward to coming back to try brunch here.

Cool new spot in Wheat Ridge! I visited a few months ago and have been wanting to go back. Surprised they don't have more Yelp reviews, so I'm hoping this draws interest. Had a few tacos and a margarita. Both were delicious and reasonably priced. Customer service is great. Vibe is super chill. Small parking lot out front. Came with my friend who drove by a few times That's how she found out about it. Would love to discover more places around Denver that way!

Amazing tacos. Robust tap list. Great patio. The chicken tinga and taco queso were absolutely fantastic. We will definitely be back.

Good food if you are willing to wait. Service is soooo slow. It took over 30 minutes to order a few tacos to go.

The food is overpriced and bland. The hottest salsa was not spicy at all. Tacos are $6 each!

As we were looking at the menu, I didn't notice any GF indicators by any of the menu items, nor did the menu itself mention gluten free items. I was hoping our friends would be able to enjoy a decent selection of their delicious food that I had come to love. What a surprise - we learned that EVERYTHING on the menu is gluten free. Are you kidding me? Even the churros? Yes, even the churros. Chips and salsa? No problem. Our friends were so surprised and so very impressed. We ordered the pork shank (scrumptious), chicken enchiladas with jalapeño cream sauce (yes, please) and roasted chicken (tender and well seasoned). And yes, we shared an order of churros. Kiddos in a candy store - that's the vibe our table had. Friends literally impressed with every bite and with zero worries about having limited options. I was so happy for them and so impressed with Teocalli. The food was incredible - as always. Staff were wonderful and the place itself is gorgeous. Teocalli has a minimal, yet very tasteful feel. I love the live plants and beautiful decor. 10/10 highly recommend.

I love that Teocalli Cocina is 100% gluten-free. Thank you! That said, they really do need to offer some vegan options. A mushroom taco, cauliflower taco, or something with grilled veggies and beans would be tasty. It can be done, other places do it! (Note: many gluten free people are dairy free too.) My husband ordered the cheese enchiladas, but was given chicken instead, and we were disappointed to learn that the rice and pinto beans contain meat. This is unnecessary. I do hope they incorporate more vegetarian and vegan options into the menu in the future.

When I sat down and started looking at the menu and saw that there were so many different classics to choose from as well as some twists on new flavors. I was pretty excited to try this place out. I was not crazy about the chips and salsa. The chips are really hard. And the salsa is extra spicy, which is completely unnecessary. So we just didn't eat much of that. Put her food didn't come out quickly and it was hunt and it was very good. I had to cheese enchiladas and I cleaned my plate. My date had a burrito. Smothered and it looked. Super yummy. It was really good. I was very surprised at how good it was and how it hit home. I'm used to eating Mexican food in Mexico and in Texas and this was fabulous. When we got the bill, I was surprised that how affordable our mail was for is what we got. I thought that this is definitely somewhere. I would want to visit again. This is classic. Easy, fun, good atmosphere, good music, good vibes. Good service.

I had the cadillac margarita and my SO had the paloma, both were very tasty. You could tell the marg was made with fresh ingredients and not just a bottled mixer. 5 stars for drinks! As for food, you are greeted with the standard basket of chips and salsa, which were excellent. The salsa was full of flavor with just right amount of heat. We finished it off in no time and our server graciously brought out another basket. For entrees, we decided to split an order of the quesobirria tacos and an order of the enchiladas suisas. Both dishes were excellent, but the quesobirria was phenomenal! I would absolutely get an order of these for myself next time. The enchiladas were also really good and were smothered in a delicious verde sauce and stuffed with carnitas, which apparently are the house specialty. Overall, we really enjoyed our visit and will definitely be coming back! I for one am so stoked to have an authentic Mexican restaurant in the area and can't wait to explore more of the menu!

But as luck would have it, today, I drove right by and decided to stop in. I didn't expect a big dining room with two sides, but they had or the giant window into the kitchen that lets you see them pressing the Fresh made corn tortillas. That was a special treat. They were very patient with us as we brought our dog inside and told us as long as he doesn't fart and serve the other customers they had no problem with him being there :) We tried some of the tacos and the Horchata Agua Fresca. Everything was delicious, I originally asked for their recommendation on which tacos to get and he said you can't go wrong, so I opted for one El Pastor one Carne Asada, and one birria taco add cheese. Everything was so good, the perfect balance of flavors and very generous portion - these tacos were stuffed! They also have an awesome salsa and topping bar with tons of options and a serve yourself format with little containers and lids.
