Apparently you can't buy that item that day if it doesn't have a tag, you'll have to come back in 3-5 business days so the owner can tag the items himself. This was one shop in handful I binged on for the day. It's good, nothing bad or weird. Service was seen and one dude that did the incredible dog noises was more than great, thanks for the laughs. I was in this thrift store as I normally am I spend hundreds of dollars here in a week. Sometimes I pay for a record player walked over and asked the guy at the register to put it somewhere for me so I can go get the rest of my stuff unfortunately something happened to it and it got broken in the mist of it all before I got out of the store. I went to the manager and asked him what I could do since it wasn't broken when I paid for it and it was broken after the man set it on the ground, he said you already paid for it sales are final I wasn't even out of the thrift store. I will no longer be going to the store. I believe the owners are getting rich off donations. I was told it was a Store for veterans I'd like to see how the veterans benefit from it. read more

There was a time would I would've given this place a higher rating but now it's the dirtiest most disorganized, not to mention overpriced store in the area. They won't even sell you something if it doesn't have a price tag on it so why do they put it out if it doesn't have a price tag? When I think about the things I have bypassed and not bought because the price was so high, they have have possibly lost $100 or so. Today in particular I passed on many things including Halloween costumes that have not been marked down even though its two weeks past Halloween. And there was a cute little baby hat with matching booties that I might have bought to donate with the blankets I make except it was marked $6.98! Come on people, you got it for free. On top of that I've got a runny nose from sneezing from all the dust I breathed in while I was there. I actually had a layer of dust and hairs sticking to my cell phone screen just from walking around and holding the few things I was going to buy. If you like thrift stores I recommend the local Savers stores, the local Goodwill stores and the Deseret store just down the street. Deseret in particular is immaculately clean, incredibly organized, extremely reasonable, with much friendlier clerks and I don't sneeze or feel dirty when I leave there. In fact I left here and went straight to Deseret to get rid of the dirty feeling. Ugh. My last trip here I came across three items I was interested in that hadn't been priced. One was just a wooden spoon, one was a package of painting sponges with a new price printed on of 59¢. I don't remember the other but it was something really inconsequential. All together they were worth about a dollar. But no, they were so TERRIBLY valuable that I had surely taken the tags off to get a "deal", huh? They wouldn't sell any of them. None was anything I needed, it just irritated me. They should be trying to get rid of the stuff to make room for more, not selling something for $6.98 that the other stores would sell for 99¢! read more

While visiting Phoenix I turned to Yelp to find something new and cool to do and once again, my fellow Yelpers steered me in the right direction! I decided to check out the Mesa Thrift Store based on the great reviews here and I didn't leave disappointed! Simply put, this is a great thrift store. It's very small but the goodies inside are top-notch. Maybe I'm used to the not-so-great thrift stores here in Las Vegas (the aisles at Goodwill are crammed with free casino t-shirts and other junk), but this place has oodles of treasures if you are willing to look. The racks aren't overly crammed full, making it easy to browse and the shelves were fairly well organized. The store was clean (as far as thrift shops go) and the employees were friendly. Lots and lots of Spanish speaking shoppers. The parking lot out front is very small and was crowded when I went; you might have to circle to get a spot. I didn't find a lot of great vintage finds here (the clothing is mostly newer styles and discount brands like you'd find at Kohls or the Gap), but there were some decent vinyl records and books. The electronics had seen better days so buyer beware. A few of the vintage bicycles out front caught my eye too. If you are a hipster, there were tons of ironic t-shirts for 99 cents each. (AS IF an actual hipster would ever admit to being one, *insert sarcastic eye roll here*). Most of the items were in very good to excellent condition and the prices were reasonable and fair. I left with a vintage real Denver Broncos NFL jersey ($4.99), two brand new full size Yankee Candles ($6.99 each), and a new looking Robert Graham polo shirt ($9.99). Definitely worth checking out if you are in the Phoenix area or if you love bargain hunting. read more

I've heard great things about this place and was excited to go today. I was with my thrift store loving fiancé. She was excited too, as we just moved here from Los Angeles and haven't found many worthwhile thrift stores in az that was until I picked up a shirt that read "STRAIGHT PRIDE".. I had to read it three times to make sure that's what it said.. I showed my fiancé and asked her if I should "ask them to pull it". She agreed that I should, so I went up to the first employee at a counter that I saw. I showed her the shirt and asked her if "maybe this one can be removed from the racks". She, instantly, without hesitation, in a demeaning voice, responded with "No.. People buy that stuff." I asked, "really, people buy this shit?!" She said, we're not going to remove anything from the rack because of your personal beliefs." I could straight up see the hate in her eyes. To the CEO and Operations staff of Mesa Thrift. 12/21/22 @ 6:17pm The Mesa Thrift store closes at 6pm and the night manager made a speaker announcement at 5:45pm explaining that the store will be closing in 15 minutes and that everyone must be out of the store by 6 PM and to make their way to the front register. I was browsing the merchandise to see if i should return the following day. The manager came over near me and loudly stated "hey you in the orange shirt we are closed", this was at 5:48pm as i checked my phone, I responded that I was not going to buy anything this evening and i was only looking to see if there was anything to come back for tomorrow and that I would definitely be out of the store within 10 minutes. The manager then quietly called me an asshole" ... I loudly said "what did you say? "repeat what you just said to me"... The Manager said "you have a lip on you...get out and you're banned". I left the store at stated i would be reporting his inappropriate childish behavior to the company management. I am a senior and in my retirement i opened a vintage antique store and have regularly shopped at this Mesa thrift over the years with no complaints, and know many of the friendly staff by name. So when I was aggressively and verbally attacked by the current night manager i was shocked and disappointed. I feel obligated to report this inappropriate and unsettling incident. I am a retired Regional Director of operations for a large international Medical Company and I always wanted good and bad feedback from our customers to better understand how our staff was meeting or not meeting our customer experience goals. This managers behavior deserves to be investigated by the Mesa Thrift CEO and staff to confirm this manager has not created a hostile work environment. Mesa Thrift Store - The Inappropriately Aggressive Night Manager of Mesa Thrift - Thrift Stores Near Me - Mesa, Arizona

While shopping and trying on items over her clothes in one of the aisles (since they have no dressing rooms and a very strict no-return policy), my teenage daughter temporarily misplaced her cell phone (which had its ringer turned off) and was incredibly distraught thinking it had been stolen. When I told the manager who was walking the floor, he didn't seem to care whatsoever and had an attitude of "sucks to be you." Although he wasn't particularly busy, he expressed zero concern or interest in helping us locate the lost phone. After finding the phone on our own (thankfully!), we checked out and paid for our numerous items. Upon arriving at our next destination, we realized that, while desperately searching for my daughter's phone, we removed from our cart a toy that we intended to buy for my young son who has special needs. Realizing that we forgot to buy this toy that was so important to him, we hightailed it back to the store in order to get there before the listed closing time, which we DID. However, unfortunately, they locked their door EARLY. Because I saw two cashiers still at their registers, I knocked on the door for assistance, and a female cashier yelled back that they were closed. When I tried to explain that we just wanted to very quickly buy a particular toy for my son that we had inadvertently left behind and, more importantly, that it was still about 5-6 minutes BEFORE the stated closing time of 6 pm listed on their door, she totally blew me off. When I knocked on the door once again and asked if the manager might allow me to come in to quickly buy the toy since they were still supposed to be open, the manager immediately stormed over and angrily scolded me through the locked door, saying that "HE" (it was actually the female cashier) had ALREADY told me that they were CLOSED. When I explained that I had arrived 5-6 minutes BEFORE their stated 6 pm closing time, he ADMITTED that THEIR clock runs "fast," but still REFUSED to let me in to buy that single item. He claimed that the registers were "closed" (even though those two cashiers were clearly still standing at their registers). I even offered to pay cash for the $2.98 toy (thinking that the transaction could be processed later if the registers were truly "closed"), to no avail. I was truly shocked by their horrible customer service, especially since the manager KNEW and even CONCEDED that it was not yet 6 pm. Because I live so far away and the store was closed the following day (Sunday), it is not easy for me to simply come back first thing when the store re-opened. Frankly, if I had truly arrived AFTER closing time, then I would not have expected them to re-open the store specially for me. But since I had arrived 5-6 minutes BEFORE closing time, I don't think it was unreasonable for me to expect the store to still be OPEN. At a minimum, I certainly did NOT deserve to be yelled at and scolded for expecting the store to be open during the business hours THEY list on their own door. So humiliating! If anything, they should have apologized for closing EARLY and tried to accommodate me or at least have tried to be COURTEOUS and PROFESSIONAL about turning me away instead of yelling at me and scolding me, especially since I did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WRONG! read more

I went to this thrift store last week for the first time and will never go again. The rudest, nastiest people I have ever experienced. They don't want to help you, items with no price are taken away from you and you're told to come back the next day, for a .99 cent item? People there are very unhappy and the manager is the absolute worst person I have ever met in that role. He doesn't smile, acts like he's doing you a favor by answering a question, and then tells you if you don't like his reply to leave. Do yourself a favor, don't go here. There are so many other places to shop, with pleasant people to help you. After I left, I read the reviews and they have the worst reviews of all the thrift stores. If you like rude, nasty, and unpleasant environment, this place is for you, otherwise look else where. read more

This was the grossest thrift store I have ever been inside of and I thrift often. While arriving the parking lot was full so I parked in the overflow parking. I got excited thinking if there are this many people it must be a great store! It smelled terrible inside and it also felt humid as well. I didn't let that deter me and began walking through a few isles. Everything seemed like junk, the isles were narrow and uncomfortable trying to walk around anyone and I didn't even have a cart. Sweet deals, weekly markdowns if the goods don't move. Love love love how they sticker their items !! On the inside (so you don't have sticky price tags on the pretty outside of tins; at the bottom of dishes so sticky residue does not end up in your stomach.) My pet peeve with most thrift shops (like Goodwill and Savers) is how lazy they are, positioning their sticky price tags on the pretty exteriors or worse, in the center of a food dish (where food would sit and get CONSUMED if you couldn't get the entire sticker off !!) I don't buy the lame excuse that the stickers are easily seen. I think they sticker it where it is most convenient for them to rush and sticker as many items as possible. At one Goodwill, a production staff revealed they had to get a certain number of items out to the floor per day, so they break it down by the hour. I guess that's great if you are s customer, but jeez, it sounded like a sweat shop ! So kudos to THIS store for taking the time and effort to position the stickers in less convenient, but more aesthetically pleasing and/or healthier spots !! We love this store and visit weekly. For the most part, decent quality items. I've seen a few pricier items here on occasion, pricey for a thrift store, but they were also higher-end goods that someone else snatched up in between my weekly visits, so there appears to be some discerning patrons with pricier tastes who frequent this establishment. read more

the moment my friend and i walked inside some cashier without even looking at us said "we close in a minute". it was 10 minutes until close i didn't think it was going to hurt anyone to walk around, but the moment we walked up to a way over cluttered shelf another employee said "we're closed, pay for your items and get out". almost all the other reviews i've seen mention rude employees and untrustworthy business hours, aka closing early consistently. couldn't say if i recommend shopping here since i didn't even get a chance to look at anything they were selling. all i can say is good luck trying to buy anything here. read more

Just went to this store for the first time after hearing about it. Drove 25 minutes to be told rudely as I walked in that they were closing in 5 minutes. I had checked on Google maps and here prior to see what there store hours are and both said 7pm. If this store doesn't care enough to monitor whether their business hours are correct on various online locations then it's a pretty good sign they don't care about their customers. If that weren't enough, the rude man who told me they were closing didn't care when I pointed out the hours listed online were incorrect, and dismissed me rudely once again. In my brief 3 minute walk through the store I observed isle after isle in complete disarray, items strewn about on the floor, broken glass, and an all round mess. Regardless of it being the end of day or not, with as many people as they had working (I noticed at least 5) you would think the store would be in better shape. Most of their staff is extremely rude, and most of their items are overpriced. If you get an item with the wrong tag or no tag at all, you won't be allowed to buy it but be told to "come back tomorrow." Your also not allowed to walk around with any "boutique" items, they'll rudely tell you this instead of having a sign that says it. This place is straight up old school thrift shopping. Serious thrifters only! So ladies grab your hand sanitizer and some gloves then schedule the after prison lice powder shower! I have got some seriously good steals hear like a 1970s coffee table with coke bottle glass inserts that I repainted an amazing Tiffany Blue for $10 bucks! Cute solid wood book cases, vintage art, clothes and more at 11:30am garage sale pricing. So cheap because nobody wants to haul the stuff off the driveway back into the house. If you are not a painter, crafter, or serious thrifter then this place is not for you! I have raced bums and hookers to the checkout so this place comes with some serious people watching too. first i'd like to say i've never had an experience so bad in a store that i felt the need to write a bad review i'm so upset this was one of my favorite thrift stores i'm a welder and i had just gotten off work so i was a lil dirty and i had been shopping for a bit and had some really cute lil finds i was so excited then this ogre comes up to me and goes "what's going on here do you have money to pay for these" (in the most condescending tone) and i say "im not homeless im a welder" and he's says okay so rudely anyways i walked away i was just so shocked then i go back and say i think that was so rude by the way and he's like i have the right to ask whatever questions i want and i was like that doesn't mean it's not rude and he just repeats himself because obviously he's not very educated and doesn't know how to have an actual conversation with someone then he takes all the clothes out of my hands and says i don't want you shopping here i've never been treated like that in my life and this makes me so sad that that's how people like this treat actual homeless people im so beyond disgusted crying in my car rn read more

Let's see Mesa Thirft Store. Um well first off let me start by saying that this thrift store is somewhat on the "unaffordable side of things". Mesa Thirft Store has very strict policy's and procedures. They don't negotiate by any means at all! With returns you should hope that the product work and you don't have buyers remorse in the process because they WILL NOT take the items back once it leaves the store (no exceptions). The Customer Service is a bit on the "cocky side" when it comes to helping you out with your "general shopping inquirys". If your a Student like myself you should be aware that your going to be judged if you walk in with a backpack. I won't recommend this Thirft Store to anyone that demands respect and quality Customer Service. Take a look at places like Goodwill, Savers, or places of that nature in first attempt to locate a bargin. read more

Holy Crap this place needs to find a bigger store to sell from. But I'm afraid they'll get it and raise the prices. The prices on stuff is really varied but you can find some good deals. I've tried to talk them down one time but they declined saying what they had (bar stools) go very quickly. We have found some really good deals there though so I have to give them 4 stars. The pricing at this store is super weird. I came here looking for a cheap nightstand for the guest bedroom, but they didn't have any. I think they try to move the big furniture out quickly, so the big furniture pieces are priced suuuuper low sometimes. for example, entertainment center for $1.98! but the other items are priced at what you'd expect. read more
