Salazar Masonry Services - The new retaining wall being built.

We needed an old, brick retaining wall to be rebuilt as it was starting to fall apart. I learned…read morethat drainage holes were never installed and thus it was finally at a point of failing. Eric was recommended by neighbors who had successful work done my him and his crew. Eric is professional, punctual and consistent. The work and clean up was exceptional. They rebuilt the wall and put the proper netting, drainage and bricks in place. My plants were protected as well. I need repainting but I am attaching some proof of great work. We also needed some brick repair on a front yard wall and that was handled nicely as well.

After several years, I got up the nerve to look up contractors who were willing to finish it for us. I'm so thankful to have found Eric and his company, Salazar Masonry Service. Eric was very responsive from the get go. He was thorough in explaining the process and what was needed to complete the job...and then some! Eric's communication was awesome from the first time I reached out. He was professional, friendly, and professional. He let me know the morning of when he was on his way and progress getting here (his commute was 90 minutes away). I got a quote for material and he offered to call and get a better price and then I called in to pay for it. What a kind gesture! He and his crew were timely and efficient. Eric explained the process and showed us what he was going to do. When he ran out of material, he got more and when he charged us for the material and trip, he didn't price gouge. He showed us the receipt for the additional materials and that is what we paid. We couldn't be more happy with job and Eric's professionalism. He is an artist in his craft and what contractors should be: honest! The retaining wall looks amazing and we're thankful that the 5 year chapter of the wall is closed! Pictures to follow!

Where do I start! I reached out to Ramos Concrete Construction seeking an expert opinion regarding…read moreconcrete work performed by the builder of our home. The slab was not level and had low spots in which water was pooling. In addition, the slab was extremely discolored. The builder refused to re-pour the slab and we would not move forward with the purchase without knowing if their solution was viable. The builder wanted to skim coat the slab and stain it to give a uniform color. Mike came out and met with the builder and asked lots of questions about the cement mix, grading, trowel work, and if the cement was "hot" when poured. He noted all the defects in the slab and the reasons why. Mike gave me a quote for replacement. It was approximately $3200 dollars. My husband and I went to the builder and asked for a seller concession so we could let Ramos Concrete do our work. We did not want the builder to repair and thought it in our best interest to have a permanent fix vs lipstick on a pig. This was a new build and we were planning to add a patio cover. To my surprise, the builder reached out the next day and offered to replace vs repair. This would not have happened without Mike's expertise. I felt 100% confident that he knew concrete and was able to pinpoint exactly why the slab looked so awful! My husband and I had already agreed to give the work to them vs having the builder do anything. In the event we still end up with a poor slab we know who to call. I really wanted to give Mike something for the time he took to go out and write up his opinion and estimate. You don't find this kind of service today, it's non-existent! I can't speak highly enough of Mike and the service I received. He definitely went above and beyond! It is because of him, and only him that the builder stopped fighting with us and agreed to replace the concrete. I absolutely owe my thanks (and new slab) to him!!!

He says it is because we didn't have the right stones, we have water drainage issues, we didn't tell them we wanted it to stand and not fall...okay?!? The section that previous contractor constructed with the same materials is appealing visually and somehow even with the same drainage stands sturdy. He said the previous contractor got "all the good rocks". Actually, the contractor chiseled the stones to fit. I know because we purchased two stone tools for him and he wore one down. I tried to tell Lanfried that we have a 5 gallon bucket of chiseled pieces thus proving that the contractor didn't just "use all the good stones", but three times he interrupted me and mocked me so I couldn't finish my sentence. Apparently, the only thing that he uses a chisel for is the chip on his shoulder. The yard was left in a mess which I cleaned up. He agreed with me that even a 5 year old can just stack rocks on top of each other with no integrity. But we thought we hired a professional mason. He said it is our fault because we didn't opt for the over $3000 cap stone he offered. But, once again, the previous wall has no cap stone and remains solid. With our money in his pocket, and our wall in a crumble, he huffed off to his truck and sped off. Good riddance!!

The posts were set incorrectly, the fence was moved despite our instructions, debris was left on the neighbors yard and the gate post was cracked and split.
