We hired Bryan Barfield of Atlanta Dreamscapes in January 2025 for a $25,000 backyard renovation and turf installation. We paid over $16,000 in two installments, expecting the project to begin in early February as agreed.
After doing minimal prep work, Bryan began delaying and stopped communicating efficiently to let us know when our project would be completed by. Constantly having to reach out to him to see if he was going to show up to do anything. He would always come up with an excuse as to why he couldn't come to work on the project, whether it was his son's disability or his mental health excuse. We discovered he is not a licensed contractor in Georgia, despite presenting himself as one. Also, Bryan presented himself as having a crew of workers for the turf installation. It turns out he isn't even the one that does the turf installation but has to rely on other contractors to have availability in their schedule for him to subcontract them for your project. We later found out that none of our money was used for our actual project -- including a dumpster that was delivered but never paid for. After calling the dumpster company to have the dumpster removed, they stated Bryan ghosted them. We were forced to hire an attorney and eventually pay a new contractor to finish the job entirely.
He also attempted to push unauthorized changes to the project/turf and had materials delivered without approval. The job was never completed by him, and he did not return any of the funds, even after providing him with receipts showing exactly what the materials cost once we had to come out of pocket to pay for them.
Avoid this business at all costs, it will save you money in the long run hiring the slightly more expensive person. Regardless of what business name he presents to you, if you see Bryan Barfield on any paperwork, please abandon any thought of hiring him for anything. We've filed complaints with the Georgia Attorney General and the Secretary of State for unlicensed activity and suspected contractor fraud in addition to taking him to court. If you have any questions and would like to see proof of all this, please feel free to message me on yelp and I will happily show you why Bryan doesn't deserve your business.
Update: Yelp seems to not be showing my original post I created 16 days ago. If this continues to happen, I will just keep re-posting so everyone can see a real review of what it's like working with Bryan. read more
