Every time I'm in the city I go to this dry cleaning for that and wash and fold. They're always super nice, and get all my makeup stains out of my shirts and provide the best service read more

love this place fast and bro didnt ask for tips or anything. Come to this place if you want your clothes to look spotless

Excellent service & quality work both the cleaning & alterations. I've been going here exclusively for 3+ years. The pricing is very fair as well- especially a good value if one considers the results of the cleaning & pressing. Furthermore, not once in my experience has there been any issue whatsoever. They deliver as well. read more

Needed a new dry cleaners because mine closed down around me. Brought shirts, pants and winter coats but the best part was that they identified that one of my coats had real fur so they didn't want to clean the same as synthetic jackets, which could take a little longer. I wanted it done correctly and I wasn't in a rush. They also offered me a more organic to clean my clothes which was perfect because I have very sensitive skin! read more

Friendly service, knowledgeable staff. Honest staff, which is priceless to me I definitely plan on being a regular here read more

Reliable and quick dry cleaning. Prices are fair and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Been going to them for a long time and they never disappoint. I have recommended them to friends and neighbors. They are great at getting stains out and always careful with my clothes! read more

Quick, quality, and easy! That's the only three things I look for in a dry cleaner and I have zero complaints.

I have had dry cleaning done here over the past 10 years & no complaints. First time doing wash & fold service and was pleasantly surprised. They did a good job & no perfume scent to the detergent (thank goodness). read more

Im new to the area & needed a goto cleaners in the mid-town location that was quick, efficient, & affordable. Im really glad I stumbled upon this shop. I needed a dress hemmed & dry cleaned asap. My dress has layers of thin organza material & let me tell you, the seamstress did an amazing job! The seam was crisp, even, & looked as if it was bought that length. Completely unnoticeable, just like I wanted. I also have sensitive skin and have had rashes due to the detergents used by some cleaners in the past. I am glad to say my dress was clean, soft, crisp, & it did NOT cause my skin to react! I can't emphasize how important that is to me. I will be using them for my work pants & blouses from here on out. read more

I had a last minute trip planned and needed my dress cleaned last minute which me propelled to leave this review with the beyond satisfactory service I received here. Merit truly went above and beyond and understood the urgency of the situation and pulled through for me. My blouses and pants for works are cleaned and pressed thoroughly. They especially get the pleat of my pants correctly which I LOVE. Customer service is always friendly and my items are serviced in an timely manner. read more

The tailor here is amazing. I tore my pants and he was able to fix it for me on the spot

Dry cleaned my Canada goose that was ruined from another dry cleaner and they did such a good due diligence to let me know what was wrong and had the tailor open up the coat to find out what was the issue, have been getting my coat dry cleaned there ever since!!! Thank you!! And for everyone who is leaving bad reviews because of pricing, if it is not a store within your means you should find somewhere cheaper then instead of harming hard working ppl's business merit. read more

Consistent quality, this is one my neighborhood staple, always reliable, never had an issue with my now 100+ cleaning here!

They do a really good job with stains. I've been coming here for the past few months and they're pretty consistent. The tailor does a pretty good job as well. I had a few pairs of jeans that needed to be shortened and patched up and they came out fantastic. I'm gonna bring in a jacket to get the lining replaced when I get a chance. read more

They're really professional when it comes to handling clothes. The staff are really nice and friendly as well. They're service is the best in the area. Worth every penny. read more

I spilt coffee on myself and they helped me out of a jam. Amazing!! They do really good work here and the tailor is pretty good too

Super nice- and quick. Very quick turn around, loved the handling and service. Took great care of my clothes! Thank you!

Needed tailoring for a wedding and I came in a little last minute but the tailor was able to take care of me. Everything fit perfectly! Definitely going back again! read more

Had an issue with my last cleaners this place is pretty good and the prices are fair. They doo really good with stains

I have been coming here for a long time and they have always done a great job. They do a great job with stains whenever i bring it to their attention. I realized they can do most things as long as i give them enough time to clean everything. read more

My pen exploded and got all over my shirt. I brought it here and the guy at the counter explained he would need extra time. After about a week i swung by to pick it up. I was amazed by the results. He said i'm lucky because i brought it right away before the ink started to set. Thank you read more

I was looking for a tailor in the area and i came across this place. They did an amazing job with my dress. I'm going to grab a few work pants and swing by there again later on in the week. Thanks again! read more

best cleaners in the neighborhood!! great turnaround and decent prices. the tailor does good work too

NO MERIT AT MERIT CLEANERS I actually joined Yelp, because of my nightmarish experience with this dry cleaner. Do not, I repeat, do not go to this dry cleaner. They will destroy your clothing and tell you the clothing was in that condition when you dropped it off. I had a brand new silk dress in need of some alteration, and because their location was two blocks from my then day job office location, I decided to give them a try. It was a simple alteration. The side seams needed to be taken in to fit a perfect size 6. I needed to have the dress altered as I was donating it for a high profile celebrity auction event. Before I dropped off the dress, I inspected it very carefully, as I wanted it to be perfect for the event. When I went to pick up the dress, I FOUND TO MY HORROR A DIME-SIZED HOLE -- a frayed hole! -- on the back of the dress. The young man behind the counter with glasses told me the hole was already there when I dropped it off! I said to him, "Why would I have a dress altered for an auction with a hole in it?" He insisted that there was a hole there to begin with. Wouldn't good service dictate that you would call the customer to let them know if you found a hole? Also, his grandmother-like tailor surely would have noticed. The tear was very, very obvious. Also, they surely would have noticed when this same fellow watched his tailor zip the dress up from the back when I tried it on to show them what needed to be fixed. Still he insisted that I was the one who tore it, and the hole was there when I brought it in. I was livid to say the very least. He had originally charged me $30 -- the dress was valued at over $400 -- and said he would only charge me $15. As far as I was concerned they shouldn't have charged me one cent. I tried to take the dress from him, and he grabbed it from me, and hid it in the back of his dirty shop. (Did I mention the place is dirty?) He said he wouldn't give me the dress unless I gave him $15. I finally gave him the $15, and went to Madame Paulette's on the Upper East Side. They charged me $150 to fix the hole. Don't go them. There is no merit to these guys whatsoever. In my 12 years in New York, my time working with garments, I have never encountered such lack of professionalism, service and accountability. I have also read other reviews elsewhere about these guys. Check it out. http://www.insiderpages.com/b/3719124919 read more

Had the opportunity to use their same day laundry service while in NYC for a week. In by 8, out by 5. Cleaned, folded and no musty smell. Worth the $10 or so I paid. Will be happy to use them again when I'm in the area. read more

Lived in the area a while ago, looking for a good cleaners (many in the area are not adequate) and ran into this great place. I have moved since but am still getting my things cleaned here. Normally picky about my clothes - especially my blouses and tops - and they have been great with them and extra careful - even recommending me on certain services that was deemed better for the type of fabric -- and they were right! Fast turnaround and great service. Also, ask about their organic soap -- smells great, feels great. read more

What a nightmarish experience... I thought it was a convenient location because I was temporarily staying at a friend's apartment one block away. I've never had anything go wrong before at various drycleaners, but this place did a terrible job on the two dresses I dropped off :( One dress had very small pleats, but they obviously didn't press it because the pleating was all washed out. When I asked why the pleats weren't neatly pressed, they said that was the best they could do. Yeah right, they didn't even touch the washed-out pleats. I was adament about them pressing the pleats, so they took the dress back and I got it back 3 days later in the condition it should've been in. My second dress had beading on the front, and I had taken it in because it had a gum stain. When I first picked it up, the gum stain was gone, but the beads on the neckline had cracked! They said that they would take back the dress and fix it. They had messed up on both dresses, so it was very hard to believe when they said they'd fix both. Finally, almost a 2 weeks later, I got this dress back. They had to buy some beads, and for the unreplaceable beads, they had to repair the damaged lacquer coating on them to make it shiny again. It was not returned to me in the near-perfect condition in which I had given it over to them. Overall, I spent 2 weeks and 5 trips to get these 2 dresses dry cleaned! It should not have taken that much time and effort at a place that is more careful with customers' clothes. I do not recommend going here. Dry clean dress = $14.50 Dry clean dress with a stain = $19.50 read more

The nice guy who worked the desk and phone is gone. New boss lady is seriously lacking in customer service skills. Switching to another cleaner. Besides, they charge $3/shirt for wash and press when my new place will do it just for $2.25. Honestly I would have stayed and happily paid a premium had the level of service stayed the same. read more

This place is way overpriced. I brought in a basic cotton blend dress for a wedding and paid over $20 to have it cleaned and pressed. Decent service but even for manhattan dry cleaning that is way too expensive. read more

Good affordable dry cleaner in midtown. Been overall happy but a nice expensive pair of gloves has gone missing in a down coat pocket I sent in. Didn't realize they were in there until after I picked up so I take partial blame but they definitely went missing during the time at the dry cleaners and haven't been found read more

I dropped a dress off here a few weeks ago with a fresh stain of coffee because I was freelancing in the neighborhoos. I was told coffee isn't too hard to remove especially if it is a new stain. I have had this experience before. But when I went to pick up the dress, there was another stain - this was a light grey cotton dress - on it, and it was ink! I know for sure it wasn't there before, and the coffee stain didn't come out. In fact it looked like they didn't even dry clean the dress! And they made me pay for it! I seriously couldn't believe it. Don't go here if you can help it. UGH! read more

I'd like to find a perc-free cleaner in the neighborhood but in the meantime, this cleaner is a perfectly decent cleaner in that my clothes are clean when I pick them up, and the turnaround is quick enough. They once damaged a clasp on my clothing and fixed it at no charge with no argument. [Note: Apparently their rates are standard in this neighborhood, so I won't count that against Merit, but am I working to be able to afford dry cleaning so I can have something to wear to work? This is the Mobius insanity of work attire.] read more

I'm really confused why this place has such low reviews. I came to this place after an awful experience at midtown cleaners (don't ever ever EVER go to this place). They always clean my clothes on-time, delivers it back to my apartment not a day late. I love that everything is done on the facility as they don't send out your clothing elsewhere for dry cleaning so they can't ever lose your stuff. Not sure what the negative reviews are really. I've also done tailoring here too on some expensive dresses and they have always done a great job. I feel very comfortable leaving my clothes here and would highly recommend this place. read more

I drop off my work uniform and always get it back nicely pressed and clean. Whatever the reviews were back then, sure doesn't make sense to me. I also have brought t-shirts here with sequins on them and got it cleaned. I was worried about it getting damaged but it was perfectly fine. Will be returning! read more

I don't know what people are waffling on about. Took my custom tuxedo and they did an excellent job before my wedding (otherwise they would have to answer to my wife, not me). I also live about 10 blocks south and call them up to pick up my dry cleaning from my doorman...they're that much better than the surrounding cleaners who consistently leave my shirts creased and lacking the appropriate amount of starch. read more

Liars and cheats. Horrible customer service. Lost my suit pants and for 4 weeks i've been trying to get them to pay up. Their answer is week after week, give me more time to find them or sue me for it. Not worth the aggravation. read more

Excellent service: they managed to remove stains from two T-shirts which I've lost hope to get back. I've tried two other dry cleaners in Brooklyn and they failed on that. Highly recommend this place. read more

The tailor is a gem. I was on my way out of town and wanted to take a favorite Escada suit with me. I took it in and explained that I would be leaving in a few hours. He repaired it for me right on the spot. It was a complex repair requiring patching and matching in the crotch and inseam. Thanks for saving the day. I was happy and confident on my trip. read more

Decided to use this dry cleaners since they were close to my job. Received one of my sweaters back with multiple strands of another individual's hair attached to the outside and inside of the sweater! I'm not sure if they clean/sanitize their machinery and equipment but I am extremely disgusted and will never use this dry cleaners again! This is the equivalent of going out to eat and finding hair in your food! read more
