This place is a joke. Meridian dental was nice enough to see me last minute about an infected tooth, my tooth was so infected my face was swollen upon being taken to the back the actual dentist saw my face and told me that I needed to go to the emergency room. I never even made it to the actual room to be seen im not upset that he was honest and couldn't help me im upset that they still charged me the $50 for the visit I never got, I called back after my infection cleared a week or so later to ask for a refund and they would hang up on me it was completely ridiculous honestly. read more

I have a dental phobia these this dental office was very patient and very understanding and very cooperative with my fear. They explained everything to me and worked to calm my fear. I highly recommend this office to others. read more

I was disappointed when my former dentist moved his practice to another town, but he assured me that he was leaving his patients in good hands with Dr. Winkelman. He was right! I have been going to Dr Winkelman for over a year now, and have been very pleased with him and all of his staff. He is very thorough and caring. He is genuine, and takes whatever time you need to fully explain your care. I am also impressed with Mark, the dental hygienist there. He does a great job without inflicting pain, unlike some others I have had in the past. The dental assistant, (I think her name was Emily) was outstanding. She was so sweet and gentle. Don't go, don't go, don't go !!!!!!!!!!!! I saw their sign when I was visiting frioends which invited new customers for a $49.00 cleaning and check up. I had not had a dental check-up in over a year so I saw the opportunity to get my teeth cleaned. The staff was somewhat cold to a "new" arrival however after the paperwork and the waiting time ( they had only one other customer in the office ) I was taken into the examining room. When the X-rays were taken they began to list all the things that were wrong with my teeth. When the Dr. came in and found out that I did not have dental insurance he immediately took my bib off and ushered me into the office where his secretary listed the costs ( 2,500.00 plus ) for the work they said that I needed. What about my tooth cleanijng ? They said that they could not do the cleaning since I had a cavity located below my gum line. Hey, I have had cavitiies filled before which were below the gum line which were worked on AFTER my teeth were cleaned !!!!!! This represents a SCAM !!!! Had they been cordial and won me over as a customer by fullfilling the promise that the $49.00 ad represented THEN I would have felt good and had them do the work HOWEVER they were only interested in the $2,500.00 AND not the customer service. From where I come from this is a scam and they backed it up with their negative attitude !!! It is good that they did nothing else. Right???? What if this guy had actually done the work ? I went into this clinic for my first visit, got x-rayed and checked out, followed by the doctors recommendations as well as expressed my desires and concerns with dental work. Went in for my second visit following the doctors recommendations for my first half of cleaning. From the get go the receptionist (Cathy) was overly flirtatious with me (even in front of my wife). I was seated and the receptionist directed me to stay as calm as possible. Then the dental hygienist began my cleaning. They had the nitrous too high as the room began to spin and I started getting nauseated so I took the mask off. Stacy was kind enough to turn the nitrous down so I would continue to wear the mask. Every time I felt discomfort she was kind enough to stop and numb the area more before continuing. Because in a calm and relaxed state all I could do was focus on the sounds of the tools and pain so I asked my wife to talk to me and keep me distracted. On four separate occasions the receptionist came into the room interrupting the procedure and trying to get me to relax and "go somewhere nice" including soothing me by stroking my arm while telling my wife not to talk to me. I have been meditating since I was 7 years old and currently hold a 5th degree black belt in Kenpo Karate. Apparently my level of relaxed and calm was alarming to them because Cathy (lying) said she was going to get the doctor to numb me up more but instead pulled the doctor out of surgery to come tend to me because something was wrong. When they came back in Cathy was telling me to relax and be calm all the while the doctor was rudely yelling at the hygienist for taking so long and allowing things to progress to this state (It would not have taken so long had we not been interrupted four times already, and there was no serious condition I was simply relaxing and well aware of my surroundings including when the doctor stepped in and boosted the nitrous behind my back). After the second time of Cathy telling me to take a deep breath I was only half way through exhaling when she directed me to take another deep breath. I was simply waiting to finish exhaling before beginning another deep controlled breath and the doctor grabbed my chest and yelled into my face that I needed to listen to Cathy. For starters I was doing far better with Stacy (who actually catered to my needs) than with Cathy who demanded everything her way or no way, secondly I didn't appreciate the continual interruptions, I didn't appreciate the far below average professionalism of yelling at staff in front of clients, and I surely didn't appreciate being grabbed by the chest and yelled at in my face. As I left I was informed my balance due was $56. I went ahead and paid the balance plus prepaid the next session totaling $150, went home and stewed on the events. The next day I went to the office and expressed my distaste for how the previous day went. Cathy (lying yet again) told me I was unresponsive and the nitrous was set way too high. Mind you the doctor boosted it after I had Stacy turn it down. In a meditative state I can control my breathing, heart rate, core temperature, and even my blood flow so I can understand why someone unfamiliar with these abilities may think I was in distress so I overlooked the obvious. Over the next three weeks the place in the roof of my mouth where an injection was given had opened up into a lesion about a half an inch long, so now I have an open gash in the roof of my mouth making eating and drinking difficult. Approaching my next appt I called to inform them I would not be able to make the appt because I had not yet healed from the last appt (3 weeks prior) and described the situation. I was scheduled for an emergency appt the following morning so the doctor could see what was going on. With the previous established behavior of lies I expected the doctor to deny fault but surprisingly I must give him props for owning up to the lesion stemming from the injection. I wish I could post a pic so everyone could see how bad this gash in my mouth is! He wanted to monitor the wound to ensure proper healing, but as we were leaving he pulled me aside to discuss the previous encounter because apparently Cathy had told him I was displeased. All it took was one simple statement that if I couldn't understand why grabbing my chest and yelling in my face to listen to an individual who caused nothing but drama and problems was necessary then I couldn't be allowed back in the clinic. I simply said I am quite fine with that and left. Now lets not forget I prepaid for services not rendered... my wife called and asked for a refund. Cathy attempted to lie (shocking right?) and say no refund was due, however after arguing with her she finally conceded to refunding $52. How does that math work out? Will never recommend an establishment this unprofessional to anyone! read more
