Came here for a consultation last week, and went through the full procedure today. Got four wisdom teeth taken out. I was honestly a little apprehensive about it, because one of my lower teeth was VERY close to the nerve canal in my jaw, but as far as I can tell everything went really smoothly!! The entire office staff is really nice, and took the time to explain every aspect of both the procedure and the billing structure. Dr. Porter was really professional and had a pleasant demeanor. All in all, I had a really positive experience at this location (I mean, getting your wisdom teeth out is never fun, but at least this was as easy as I can imagine it could be)! One thing to be careful of is that the office can be a bit tricky to find. If you turn left into the area from Brown rd, it's the last office to your immediate left. read more

Over the years I have become very careful of whom I choose to work with and often go to different offices just to feel them out... to see how they are with patients right from walking in the door. Not every man with a title or a degree can be trusted to do a complex surgery. I took my disabled brother to see Dr. Boyse. He needs to have all his teeth extracted because he has been unable to brush his teeth for 15+ years. He has lost most of his teeth. His gums are infected and he is not able to masticate most foods. I am seriously worried he will die soon, if left untreated. In fact another dentist has told him the gum infection can turn into full body sepsis and kill him. We arrived and we were welcomed by the kind receptionists in this clinic and a gentleman named Cooper explained to us the whole process. Then Dr. Boyse walked into the consultation room. This gentleman has an aura about him that exudes confidence, skill and professionalism. Within the first minute, our fears evaporated. We knew we are sitting in front of a man that can overcome all the dental surgery challenges facing my brother. Earlier efforts in the week to perform a CT scan of my brother's jaw had failed because of his extreme tremors. His head kept shaking and the CT scan was not successful. When we went to Dr. Boyse' clinic a few days later, I was worried how my brother can undergo such a big surgery given that he has uncontrollable and violent tremors? He has undergone 24 surgeries including some brain surgeries that damaged him. I think most dentists would feel some concern and anxiety to handle his case. They would be scared or at least feel not confident to handle my brother's surgery. Not Dr. Boyse! I saw no anxiety on his face and he was not any one bit worried. I was reading into his mind: this is a piece of cake and I know exactly how to handle this complex case. I honestly felt this gentleman is so experienced, so skilled and God-endowed with such control that he can handle my brother's surgery like Ronaldo can handle a soccer ball in front of an open goal. Dr. Boyse told us to leave this matter with him. I am grateful to him no matter where we go from here. We are blessed to meet him. We left the clinic with hope. I received my surgical consultation from Dr. Porter who was very caring and thorough in his explanation of care and procedure required. I had an extraction and bone graft within a week of the consult, and the surgery process was incredibly smooth and the nurses were very kind and efficient. A few months ago, I went into my dentist expecting to have a filling replaced (I thought it fell out, as it had twice before), only to learn that the nerve in my tooth was shot and, long story short, I found myself requiring a tooth extraction that same day. My dentist, desperate to get me in after I had been suffering from months of pain, set the appointment up for me. She called them, handed me the referral paperwork, and off I went. She selected this location for me due to the proximity to my home. There were things that I both liked and disliked about this office, but overall I was a happy customer. First, I came in frightened and unprepared. I hadn't fasted or anything because this was a last minute surgery - that morning I had woke up only expecting a filling. I did not like the scoldings I repeatedly recieved from everyone from the front desk to the nurse and to the doctor himself. I kept reminding them that this was scheduled only an hour before, I hadn't expected a surgery that day. This was usually followed by an awkward, "Oh..." but never an apology for chewing me out. Second, I have unique medical situations. I have both an insanely tiny mouth that makes dental work both difficult and painful (hence why I was getting a tooth pulled and not getting a root canal and crown), and I have ridiculously small veins. It's genetic, all my siblings are that way, and very few medical professionals ever believe me when I tell them this. They think I'm just afraid of needles or something, or that I'm exaggerating. Phlebotomists end up sticking me three or four times before they admit that, oh, wow, I was telling then the truth, huh? Urgh, I hate that. Honestly, this place was no exception. They just didn't believe me when I told them this. The doctor had to ask me twice to open my mouth wider before he realized I physically couldn't, and everyone dismissed my small veins. I asked if I could at least drink water before the surgery, so my veins could be as large as possible - oh, no, that couldn't happen! Was I crazy?? Fine. Do they have, like... a baby needle, then, for the IV? Don't worry, they said, the doctor NEVER misses. In fact, he's JUST SO GOOD, that everyone says he has X-ray vision. The doctor himself even bragged about how he was. I needn't worry -he's a medical superman, he knows how to do an IV. Here is what happened when I was in the chair and he tried the IV: Doc: okay, let's find that vein... *taps around* ... oh, those are small veins... but it's fine. The hand still works.*stick* Me: Ow, ow, it burns... please hurry... ow... Doc: ... Me: ... um... please tell me you got it? Doc: ... no, I didn't... Me: Then WHY do I still feel that needle in my HAND?! Doc: oh, right. We'll try for a better vein... you really weren't lying, were you? Srsly. I had a massive bruise that took longer to heal than my mouth did, just because of that. So they lost major points for that. But, they were nice here, so I still give them four stars. My mouth healed quickly and cleanly, no complications. Also, they gave me a discount on the x-ray, because my dentist had sent one over, too, and a few weeks ago, I got a refund check from them, I guess my derp-insurance covered more than originally planned. Generally speaking, I would recommend them again. read more

I started by taking my son and he had 5 teeth removed with Dr. Porter. They called that afternoon to check on him and his recovery was quick. This business is like none other! I went in due to am emergency referral by my own dentist, and went w great apprehension... I can be "adult" and brave in any situation... except dental!! The receptionists out front, the assisstants in the rooms, and the doctor (I was assigned Dr Porter) were kind, sincere, calming, and knowledgable. All were gentle yet factual and straight-forward. But wait!!! There's more!!!! When it came to talk numbers, I had already done my research on what tooth extractions cost (with and without sedation.... you know which option this pansy-baby wanted!). Since I have such high-maintennance dental needs, my insurance was maxed out for the year. Not to worry at THIS establishment, because they will actually still erase or excuse the portion my insurance WOULD have paid, had I not already exceeded my amount!!!! What an unbelievably wonderful surprise. Ultimately, I had 11 teeth extracted (WITH sedation, of course), and paid a total of just under $1200. If you have price shopped, you know this is an extraordinary price! The entire process took less than an hour; they had me well.prepared beforehand, and provided excellent follow-up care. All staff is professional and sincerely compassionate, and the fee reduction they offer with maxed-out insurance makes this place AMAZING! Everything was great Except for I had some complications after going home that night. tried calling the on call dr but never got a call back. Been suffering in pain since but hopefully everything heals soon an I can eat soon. read more

The bright shining stars are the staff that are so helpful and caring. You just know you are in caring hands. The DDS is very efficient, knowledgeable and professional. One of the young women stood by me and explained everything that was happening in my mouth during the two extractions and the Dr Porter spoke up about things going on that the nurse was unaware of. No one 'loves' tooth extractions. But this was right up there as the best....of a situation you would not want to undergo. read more
