He is a diabetic and is losing all his teeth due to a dental procedure done when he as a child. He can't eat most solid food so I was looking for free dental care or very reduced costs to get him implants or dentures. When I looked up free dental care on the web Arizona School of Dentistry and Oral Health Dental clinic was the first one on the list (see photo) I was so excited as I thought finally someone will help him. Unfortunately after speaking to the customer service rep who answered the phone I was told they do NOT offer free dental care and only have a 20% discount over most private clinics!!! I was shocked and disappointed to say the least. Why are they advertised as a Free Clinic and then only provide a 20% discount, he can get that at most regular clinics because he is a veteran, so not really a discount. Adults have 32 teeth so she told me to get implants it is $1000 a tooth so that is $32,000 dollars!! WOW not much of a discount....

I had become increasingly dis-satisfied with my Dentist and Staff who I had been a patient for…read moreseveral years. We had moved and though the office was farther away I still went there as they had my records and I knew what to expect. I normally do not do well with Dentistry - even just teeth cleaning. On my last visit for a teeth cleaning I had a 2:30pm appointment and checked in few minutes early. As I waited I picked up a few People magazines and was reading a few articles when I realized it was around 2:55pm. I put the magazine down and was about to get up and ask why it was a half hour late when my Hygienist appeared. They have a downstairs basement and apparently she was down there and none of the office staff (2) had advised her I was here. No apology. Again I had the same hygienist but the last few cleaning I felt she'd just been 'going through the motions' with less polite conversation or interest in my dental health. Well I like to think I am a patient person but after that visit I decided to change Dentists. Reading Google reviews I noticed Mesa Dental on Higley had good reviews and was only 2 miles versus 15 miles away so I made a note to schedule a cleaning with them (I go every 3 months) and would advise my current Dentist I would no longer be utilizing their services. As fate would intervene about a month after my cleaning I cracked a crown on the upper right side of my mouth while chewing. I could feel it so I called Mesa Dental and they did an awesome job of making me a new crown. I felt welcomed when I came in and was promptly seen only a minute or two after I arrived over two appointments. To note I do not do well with the X-Rays as I tend to gag when they put that film thing in the back side of my mouth. They were able to get me through it with some numbing solution and quick moving to the switch. I was very appreciative of that effort. Earlier this week I also had a cleaning done by 'Keegan' and she was wonderful. What was interesting is their water jet tool is newer and uses about half the water my prior dentist used. I often felt like I was 'waterboarded' but knew no different. Last comment here is my wife want to get dental implants so she made appointments for estimates and reviewed 3 local Dentists (Mesa Dental being one of them). She decided on Mesa Dental also as she felt most comfortable with the consultation (felt he was more knowledgeable), their estimate was a bit lower, and overall came away with a better friendlier' feeling than the other two offices (place seemed 'cleaner' also). She will have this done starting next week. So I would like to give Mesa Dental a '5' star rating as a new patient I am very pleased with their services - 'night and day' from my prior Dentist. In the waiting room they even have a little cooler with little courtesy bottles of water and Gatorade - nice touch. Sorry to be a bit verbose but wanted to tell the whole story. Jeff H. Mesa

I'll pay for the procedure and get reimbursed. I was prepared because this is an ongoing issue every time I come here they have problems. I went back for my cleaning and sit down in the chair. I never said a word. Hygienist then said I can't do this. I was visibly upset, but never said anything at all. So she canceled my appointment on the spot. Totally wasted my time all because they couldn't figure out billing and the hygienist got upset I will never come back to this office. This isn't the first issue I've had. There's been multiple issues usually revolved around billing because they can't figure it out. I don't recommend this. Office and I will never return.

I asked about pricing for whitening service YEARS ago, and was given a quote. I had dental coverage at the time that would cover teeth whitening. As this is a rare offering I said I would only go through with the service if they could get it covered and authorized by my insurance. They could not get the authorization, so I denied the services, and I have not been back sense as I didn't have the best experience prior to this. I sent emails to the front desk staff and left multiple voicemails years ago the first time they sent me a fraudulent statement. There is no date of service even reflected on these statements nor any detail of services rendered. This is fraud and I don't know why I can't get a single call back from his office or response. Additionally when I got invisaline here (which I didn't actually need I was just being a perfectionist and offering it to me was predatory) the dentist over shaved my teeth so I now have bigger gaps on the right side of my mouth. Getting fake bills years later adds insult to injury. .

He has done updates on my implants (I'm a terrible patient, crunching on nuts and grinding my teeth) as needed, and I'm so glad for all the support. If you need to talk about implants and/or other non-routine dental needs I can't recommend Dr Boyse highly enough. Over the years I've occasionally been seen by another surgeon here, all of them are excellent and caring. I would give more stars but there aren't enough.
