We stopped at Meriano's Bake Shoppe after a trip to the area. What a wonderful one stop shop bakery. I wish it was closer to us. You can get sauce and stuffed breads. We loved the chicken Parmesan stuffed bread. The bread itself was sweet, airy, and has a nice bite. The chicken and cheese inside was just right and filled throughout. We got 4 different cupcakes to sample. The cupcakes were fresh, moist, and flavorful. Love a wonderful Funfetti! My husband enjoyed picking out a sampling of their pastries. He loved them all- cinnamon roll, apple stick and the blueberry and strawberry danish. We greatly enjoyed our trip and every single item we purchased. The waitstaff were so accommodating and welcoming. A fun 80's song came on the radio and we were joking we all loved the song. We'll be back! 5 stars! read more

We ordered a carrot cake for a special anniversary celebration and were very disappointed as it was not the quality we have experienced previously. Cake was beautifully decorated but there was more icing than cake!! for instance, there were 3 layers and the bottom layer seemed to be 1/4" thick, whereas the icing was 2-3 times that. Also, the cream cheese icing apparently was made with granulated rather than powdered sugar, such that it was slightly crunchy. Finally, the cake barely had carrots in it and looked and tasted more like a mild spice cake. And the price of $45 for 6" cake seems quite pricey especially for the quality. I am sorry to write such a negative review but the disappointment for a very special occasion seems to merit candid feedback. read more

My daughter and I attended the Food Truck Festival in Wolcott and my daughter love's Cannolis, so we had to stop by. Meriano's Bake Shoppe has a brick and mortar location but they also have a food truck that goes to a variety of locations. My daughter ordered an Oreo Cannoli and I took a couple of bites of my daughter's Cannoli and it was delicious. I'm not really a sweets fan but the couple bites I did take were delicious. The cream was very creamy and not too sweet. The Cannoli itself was crunchy and packed with a punch of an Oreo cookie. It was an overall a good Cannoli. read more

Stopped by this cutest bake shoppe (that's very famous in the area) for a quick sweet treat for our way. We got a chocolate dipped cannoli and eclair and they were delicious. Perfectly sweet and custardy, me and my husband both loved it! The family behind the counter was super sweet and had photos of their loved ones with their achievements all around the shop! The food here is amazing, and very reasonably priced for the quality you're getting. A very large variety of sweets to cater to every occasion and type of person! The quality for the price is a big plus, and you can guarantee you're getting the best tasting cannolis, cookies, and other baked goods in Madison. All food is made in house and fresh, and can count on it being top quality! I got the chocolate cannoli on multiple occasions and they've always been delicious! They also offer options for their food truck which goes around Guilford and Madison Greens. For parties, they offer party platters, pies, and selection of goods to treat your guests too The service is nothing short of excellent, the baker is top quality in service and craft. Very friendly and knowledgeable about the baked goods. Gave good recommendations and overall a friendly person. Haven't even tried my cannoli yet because I accidentally dropped it, and when I told the cashier that I dropped it, he made me a new one and offered to give me an extra bag and did not charge me anything for it. Hands down mine and my husbands favorite bakery. These guys have the best cannolis we have ever had and we live close to Carlos' bakery in Mohegan sun so that says a lot. We drive down a good 25-30 minutes just to visit the bakery and get some treats. We have never had a stale product when we have gone and they always have such an array of options of sweets. Some of the best cannolis we've ever tasted. Our family who lives in Madison brought these to a party and I was blown away. We took some home and the next day, the shell was still just as crispy. That's a sign of a good cannoli. They have some amazing flavors too like lemon & oreo. I can't wait to check this shop out for ourselves next time we're in town! read more

This is my new favorite bakery, too bad it is 80 miles away. The almond pastry was outstanding, with its extra helping of marzipan inside. The cannoli lobster tail was also excellent; probably the best cannoli cream I've tasted. The shell had a perfect crunch. read more

These cannoli are amazing. Excellent traditional and really good choices if you want different flavors. I also like their pinnoli cookies, they are very good. I ordered a birthday cake and the cake was so gorgeous! It had beautiful decorations with edible flowers. Unfortunately, I didn't like the taste - it's that super sweet sugar flavor that just hurts your teeth. Too bad, I really wanted to like it. Go for the cannoli, totally worth it. read more

Meriano's did a fantastic job with my boyfriend's birthday cake! The cake looked beautiful and tasted even better. I wasn't able to pick it up before closing due to a snow storm and they were able to pack it and store it in a safe location for me which was SO appreciated. I have to admit that before today I didn't realize merianos even had a store front. Before then I had been stalking their cannoli truck at all of the local farmers markets. Upon stumbling on the store tonight I felt as though I had to get a cannoli since it was right in front of me. Anyways the cannoli was perfect as always. I went for classic and it was light and crispy and had the perfect ratio of filling to mini chocolate chips. Such an awesome find today. read more

Cannolis are one of my favorite desserts. I saw the cannoli truck parked outside, so I thought I would venture inside to check out the bakery. I have to say this is my favorite cannoli ever! That is a pretty significant statement because I have been eating cannolis for about 50 years and I love to try them whenever I say specialty shops in my travels. This now replaces locations in Arthur Avenue in the Bronx as well as Hartford and New Haven as THE BEST. The gentleman who waited on me was the cousin of the owner and you certainly would've thought he was the owner, very passionate about all their foods and had a terrific personality and great customer service. Meriano's has the best stuffed chicken parmigiana bread I've ever had! I also love their danishes and cupcakes. Their Italian pastries - like zeppoles - or their Italian cookies are not of the traditional taste or texture for which I am accustomed. I do recommend their less traditional baked goods. I've been going to Meriano's since I was kid, back when they were located in Guilford. Without question, its the best bakery I've ever been to. I lived in New York for a few years and tried all kinds of places in little Italy, Brooklyn, and Astoria. None of them were quite so good as Meriano's. From what I hear, they've been thriving in Madison. That's great news. They're a gem of the shoreline. read more

I'm a cannoli fanatic. Truth be told, there isn't many a cannoli that I do not enjoy. (unless of course there's orange zest in the ricotta..then I'm over so it). I discovered this place as I work across the street at one of the dealerships. I went in and it was like I passed out. Cannolis of every kind. Italian cookies. Cakes. The theme inside is so bright and cheery and adorable. And their CHEETAH PRINT plastic bags KILL ME! They're my favorite. But back to the real reason people leave reviews.... their cannolis are the best I've ever had. My favorite is the Oreo cannoli... it's amazing. If you're ever in the area and get kicked by your sweet tooth, totally pick up a cannoli or two at this place. Same price as anywhere else but tons of different flavors and options to choose from! read more

I ordered an 8" vanilla cake with American buttercream and cannoli filling. I then requested the top to be filled with pastel tones of flowers. On the day of pickup (yesterday), the cake was ready and exactly as requested. Granted, the cake was a bit pricey, but then again, I also did not inquire the price prior to ordering. The quality is there, so in the end, the price didn't really matter. Also, the cake seemed huge for 8 inches! Those working (I'm assuming one was the owner as she was there both times I came in) were super friendly and welcoming. I would totally recommend this adorable bake shop to anyone looking to have something made for a great occasion, clearly with love and quality ingredients.

I noticed a reference to the fact that they have cooking classes. There were two to three people working. Two people, perhaps the owners, seemed like they were training a third person. In any event, everyone was very nice and helpful. In terms of baked goods, the most visible things were two glass cases of many cupcake flavors. I also noticed some cookies. I should note that when I visited, the colleges were on break. I'm not sure if they have more options when the colleges are in session. The cupcakes looked outstanding. Well iced. Nice colors. I ordered a lemon cupcake, and a chocolate peanut butter cupcake. I had parts of both. The cake was very fresh. The peanut butter icing was delicious. The lemon icing/curd was delicious too. My only other comment is that certain parts of the yellow lemon cake were a bit dry, but it wasn't noticeable when the bites contained icing. I'd definitely return to try more things. I've seen references to macarons, and that definitely intrigues me. 4.5 Stars
