I ordered an 8" vanilla cake with American buttercream and cannoli filling. I then requested the top to be filled with pastel tones of flowers. On the day of pickup (yesterday), the cake was ready and exactly as requested. Granted, the cake was a bit pricey, but then again, I also did not inquire the price prior to ordering. The quality is there, so in the end, the price didn't really matter. Also, the cake seemed huge for 8 inches! Those working (I'm assuming one was the owner as she was there both times I came in) were super friendly and welcoming. I would totally recommend this adorable bake shop to anyone looking to have something made for a great occasion, clearly with love and quality ingredients.

I also tried the prosciutto panini, which was really good, but only qualm is that there is a lot of arugula on it, so if you're an arugula lover, this is definitely the sandwich for you lol. All of the girls working were incredibly knowledgeable about everything they were selling. I really appreciated that they bring your food right to your table too. Overall, such a great experience and definitely a bakery I'd come back to :)

The shop is really bright and welcoming, and smells great. I went to the bakery area where I was quickly greeted. As soon as I stated this I noticed their dipped cupcakes which looked great, I guess something I'll have to come back for. I was quickly given my cupcakes and my total was about $7. Both cupcakes were delicious. I could taste all the flavors and would happily eat both again. Given how close I live, it's a bit dangerous to be so conveniently located. I'll definitely be back

I guess that they heard me already on this and were totally supportive and did a well informed tasting for us where they were very accommodating to our requirements. They customised this cake for us absolutely perfectly where we got both fillings of chocolate and mocha because we couldn't land on just one type. The decoration was done with the most buttery frosting and not the almost inedible hard frosting which is overly sweet. The frosting we got was buttery and delicious. They don't do cake toppers but they give you the dimensions and you can order the topper and bring it to them. The added bonus for us was that they are about 2-3 minutes drive from us. The amazing thing is they deliver and are very punctual with their deliveries. Totally recommend.

It was decorated beautifully. My only issues were 1. price ($50 seemed a bit high, we needed it for just 4 people and this was their smallest size. 2. I couldn't decide between two options so I got 2 cakes! I selected a chocolate on chocolate cake and a chocolate cake with raspberry buttercream frosting. They were delicious!! My mom and I drove over an hour to Take the Cake in Guilford to pick up a cake for a dear friend's birthday. I placed the order over a week ago and confirmed on Wednesday that I would be here after 10:00am today. We arrived at 10:30am and no one was here. We waited for almost an hour and watched as other customers came and went, including a woman who had placed an order to be picked up, and the owner had said she would be there by 10:00am. I called 12 times and sent messages on Facebook and Instagram...no response. This is very inconsiderate to your customers, Take the Cake...and it breaks my heart because you have been my favorite bakery since my wedding in April 2017...and you made an unforgettable cake. It was certainly…read moresome type of foreign object that would need to be carefully researched in order to determine exactly what it is! This discovery was so alarming and obviously jeopardized the health and safety of my family that I immediately called the store. No one picked up. I sent an email on Saturday, April 5th and realized on Tuesday, April 8th almost 4 days had passed with no reply. I decided to forward my email again and finally received a response that they did not receive my original email although the same email address I received the reply from was the exact same email address I originally emailed. Interesting.... Not to mention the forwarded email had a timestamp on it. Nevertheless, I expressed my concerns along with resending the photos. Here's where the situation gets worse .... I advised the email respondent that I saved the cake and would be more than happy to drop it off for them to have it carefully inspected. Instead, they decided to email me back and advise me that they had "carefully inspected the photos", and determined it was a carrot that underwent a chemical reaction and not a concern. SERIOUSLY!?!? Firstly, I read through the ingredients list and there isn't anything listed that should be green. Secondly, I watched the videos of at least 8 vloggers who bit into the carrot cake and turned it towards the camera and NEVER once did I see anything green. So let me guess... this "chemical reaction" just so happen to ONLY happen to my cake? Lastly, and the most disappointing part of the email stated, as a "gesture of goodwill", I would be happy to offer you a "complementary replacement cake." Complementary as in 'Free', haha! How in the world could something be 'complementary' when you already paid for it?! Which is exactly what I asked them in my response. At the bare minimum, I should've been offered a refund. And asked to bring in the piece of cake so they can carefully inspect it to protect the health and safety of ALL the North Haven, CT Crumbl patrons! UNBELIEVABLE, the way this matter was handled! Of course, I respectfully declined the cake and let the respondent know that I would never step foot back into the North Haven Crumbl again, except to drop off their contaminated product. This type of customer service is extremely poor and shows a clear picture of the type of person/persons running the North Haven establishment which I found out are two brothers by the names of Scott and Justin Cinnamon. Certainly a missed opportunity to right a wrong. And by the way, my daughter and I are Pink Status Crumbl members. For those of you who don't know, that is the highest status you can get. The way you become Pink Status is by patronizing Crumbl regularly and earning points. So No - I am not some one-time customer complaining. We actually love their product and enjoy reviewing them. North Haven Crumbl has certainly loss at least one customer due to this. Photos are below...See for yourself!
