I am sitting now on one of three decks overlooking the river on 1.3 acres and have a breathtaking view of nature. I can hear the sounds of the river from anywhere on this property. One of the decks is screen enclosed with a couch, rocking chairs and a high top table with chairs. We are in the middle of nowhere. This home is very secluded and I love it! The representative Christy- was extremely helpful from the very beginning ; making sure everything was in order for us when we arrived. She even left a goody basket with a nice bottle of wine, munchies, salami, hot chocolate and marshmallows and popcorn. Every room in this home faced the Horseshoe River and the amazing view of nature. There is a private walk down to the river where another deck waited for us. It was easy getting down but a major work out to get back up. The house is stocked with everything you would need to just hunker down, make your own meals and never leave (until it was time to go). Oh, you would need to get your own groceries ;). Just give me a bottle of wine and a charcuterie board and I'm set. This place is beautiful and 5++. The staff was very nice and I would definitely recommend this place if staying in the area. We looked at a couple other places and they were down right bland. We stayed here 4 nights since we were celebrating. Parking was easy and safe. The bed was comfortable and the cabin was very clean. The price was very reasonable and we were able to cook breakfast in the morning.

It was so nicely put together and the attention to details were definitely appreciated. The cabin came with everything you may need, while keeping it clean and organized. I loved the little touches like having puzzles and kid books in the loft. The touches of making it 'bird themed' were just enough, and didn't make you feel like you were in a Hitchcock movie. While this was a kid free weekend for us, we definitely could see it being perfect for a family as well. Everything was well maintained. Communication with the staff was fantastic and we were really able to unplug and unwind. If you do get antsy and want to go shopping or exploring, Lake Lure is just a short drive away. We would definitely stay here again.

We wish we could buy one for ourselves lol. The views aren't substantial, but the location was prime for reaching all of our destinations easily. This layout and floor plan easily accommodated all of us comfortably. If you are worried about space, don't even sweat it. I bet it could fit double with zero issues. All the amenities worked and Jeanette is so timely in responses and getting our needs met. There is something for everyone, seriously. The only bad thing you could possibly say is that the roads to get into the cabins is a bit confusing and a bit technical to drive with a full size truck and trailer. However, once you're in, you just hate to leave. I found at the end of every long day of riding, I was so happy to get to come home to Wildflower cabin #1 as my home. We checked in with friends who rented another cabin #7 and they raved about it as well. Look no further for your family lodging needs, this is the place you are looking for! =)

We arrived Sat 01-Nov. It was not easy finding the registration office for Foxhunt. The…read moreregistration office is on Sapphaire property. The rentals are a mile down the road. We were in Building number #6 unit 1561. The units are three levels. Upper level is living area. 2nd level is a bathroom and bedroom with a single and queen bed. Closet with vacuum cleaner and broom and dust pan. Table stand with lamp. The bottom level is the master bedroom. Deck off the bedroom. Bathroom with a jacuzzi tub, toilet, and sink. The Heating process was ok for main living space. But was weak for 2nd floor area did not heat well. The master the same but there was a space heater in the wall. The fireplace worked nicely. Wood can be gotten from Ingles store. There is starter wood also. I did pick up wmy first wood buy from hardware store ain cashiernd starter would. Wood bundle was 8.99 and at Ingles is 7.99. There is nothing to store ashes. Ingles is the place to shop but not inexpensive similar to Busches or Publiexs. TV location is across the room from sitting area. The reason is the location power outlet and cable connection. There are DVD players available. At this time of year somethings are closed. Farmer Market was closed and the restaurant on Sapphire. There are restaurants close by. We did not eat out but chose to buy from Ingles. Eat at unit. We went to White water falls. Sapphire which is mile down the road is where rec center. The gym is very well setup. One thing to note one needs to drive to things. If you want to walk the topography has elevation. So know that situation. If one wants a quiet place and nice environment this is the place I would recommend this place. We were satisfied with our experience. The reason for a 4 is our experience with finding registration and the toilet kept running. I called office for more trash bags and how to handle ashes. Left a message but no returned call. If the items noted did not happen would have given a 5 start.

We couldn't sleep because the smell got worse with the heat on. We had to keep the door open to break up the smell. The place is dated and furniture worn out. The floors were filthy. Excellent stay! Second time at Asheville Cottaged and we cannot say enough about the experience. They think of everything to make your experience top notch! We arrived and were feeling a little snacky. No problem! The snack tree and variety of waters/soft drinks/juiced beverages in the fridge were welcome! We browsed the binder for suggestions on where to grab dinner. After dinner at White Duck Taco, we stopped Ingles for a few groceries. Of course, Tracie and Marshall made sure each cottage had an Ingels savings card to use! Need a battery? Under the kitchen sink. Ziplock bag? Yep..,check a drawer in kitchen. They think of everything you may need and have it on hand for you! Loved the soaking tub! Loved the heated bathroom floor. Loved heated toilet seat. Accidentally hit a button on the bidet in the middle of the night and got a little surprise rinse off. . The big surprises were seeing a few bears late one afternoon behind the cottage (Magnolia). Thankfully, we just sat quietly on the deck and they looked at us and took off for the woods. Overall, it was a great trip and on the flight home, I started to look at availability to come back for a girls trip later in the Fall with my sister and niece. But before I could book anything, Hurricane Helene severely impacted the area. My heart breaks for all the families who lost loved ones in this disaster. By finding them on social media to see if they were ok, I found out that thankfully Asheville Cottages did not sustain much damage due to their location. Since Asheville tourism is essentially stopped, Tracie and Marshall have graciously opened their cottages to local families who have been displaced by the hurricane as they still have electricity and water. They also are still paying their employees salaries during this time (as they did during Covid) - taking care of them like family. THIS is exactly the kind of small business that my husband and I are proud to support so we will be staying at Asheville Cottages next time we come to Asheville...whenever that can happen.
