When we arrived we were warmly greeted by Nancy, the innkeeper for the weekend and also by the amazing view through a wall of windows on the main floor. Nancy brought us to our room named "the view" , which was a cozy wood paneled space that, from our semi private deck, lived up to its name. After an amazing dinner at the Wildflower we retired to our room and comfortable bed for a great night sleep. In the morning we went up for a fantastic breakfast and some wonderful conversation with the others who are staying here. I'm really sad to leave but this has been a great, memorable way to spend my wife and my 10th wedding anniversary. BTW, the other folks who we had breakfast with are looking at property here in Mentone if that is any indication of the beauty of this place.

My only two complaints would be number one there were not blinds or curtains in the living room and no tv in the bedroom. If we return to the area we would definitely stay here again though it's a lovely cabin with great owners . It was a very relaxing stay we enjoyed it ! This cabin is also great for star gazing as well. There is a cat that made visits nightly he was very friendly and lovable! Also don't worry about buying spices they have the main ones you need wish I would have checked before going shopping. If your looking for a good place to eat we suggest Sally's smokin butt bbq they have amazing bbq , good prices and the best brisket either one of us have ever tasted. What we got was ... the absolute perfect location to spend a night above a 50ft waterfall that lullabied us to bed. A perfect storm came through in the night to maintain that REM. Then a fuller waterfall and a few dozen songbirds to wake us up in the morning. Not even temped to hit the snooze button on that! Mr.Miller's hospitality is superb. He enjoys sharing his creativity, which is impressive, and thanks to it we had a perfect glamper to stay in and have this great experience. We took our time getting up, had some coffee, and drank it on the back deck as we watched the waterfall, yes you read that right ..... waterfall is visible from the glamper, just laying in bed I can lift my head and see it. After morning, coffee we hiked down to the bottom of the falls and soaked in the beauty and the privacy of it.

This is a great place to turn your phone off and enjoy the world around you. We golfed every morning at Gunters Landing, which is about a mile down the road and has some of the most beautiful views I have ever seen. The only downside was we were told something different about the credit and got charged $456 for the massage, the staff realized their mistake and luckily granted us what we were initially told. (I will admit the massage was mediocre for the price.... in my person opinion I wouldn't really recommend doing it but the spa itself is lovely) We visited woodlands grill for lunch and dinner and were extremely surprised with how tasty the food was! 10/10 recommend eating there at least once and visiting the beer garden for additional food options because the menu for the most part is the same at the restaurant and it is the only restaurant on the resort. The beignets were soooooo good, everyone needs to try this. I also recommend getting dinner earlier rather than later because they do run out of certain foods towards the end of the night. It's pricey in the fact that you have to pay for every little thing. (a small water bottle is $3.00) Highly recommend for families or couples just wanting a weekend getaway! For families with children there are lots of activities to keep them occupied such as corn hole, smores outside every night and bike riding that you can rent! I will suggest booking the different excursions in advance because it does get booked very quickly and certain excursions (axe throwing, archery and horseback riding is only available till 3pm at least that's what we were told. Regardless, I will definitely be back one day!

Oh, feral cats living under my porch, fed by an employee two buildings down at the Town Hall. Calling and visiting the front desk, they were friendly and apologetic and sent bottles of wine, but wine does not stop mosquitos biting. "Engineering" never showed up, I presume because they don't exist. 12th consecutive year here for an annual golf tournament. Something has changed and their room care has plunged. Literally an insect infested room with no response beyond "here is some wine and we're oh so sorry". If you come here, bring Deet to spray on your body and bug killer to spray around the perimeter of the floors. Oh, mosquitos on the toilet as well. Gym weight equipment was essentially non-functional as all thepoarts had loose bolts and pulley/cable links broken. Barnsley has started to become a dump. I'd bet Private Equity now owns some or all of it and has pulled their usual "strip away expenses and maintenance and no one will notice", as decided by a 24 year old finance major. Yeah, people notice. I wont come back.
