"You get what you pay for" is a mostly fitting way to describe my experience, except it is unfitting in the literal sense, because the suits/pants did not fit. Although we did get to keep the suit jackets and pants, most of us walked away with pants-shaped souvenir's, due to the tan colored napkin-pants fitting like capri's, if they were still intact at all.
I do need to accept my share of blame, since I mistakenly made the assumption that this man knows how to measure people to fit them into a suit. Many of my groomsman needed alterations, myself included, and I didn't try on the pants until 2 weeks before the wedding. The end result was by putting them on and squatting slightly I ripped the pants immediately.
You have to go there in person, because he doesn't answer the phone, or call you back. You might get a call back within ~3 days time, sometimes. His seamstress is also a contractor so if you need anything done, that's also a process.
After ripping the pants, we called and asked to take out the butt as much as possible, as to prevent any further rips, and provided the location of the rip for the seamstress to fix. Upon getting the pants back, the butt was better, but the rip was still there. I went to a different seamstress altogether to have that patched up.
Come wedding day, it was discovered that I had another hole in the pants, right on the backside seam. I managed to get through the ceremony and get good pictures without ruining the pants any more by avoiding sitting, squatting, bending, or taking long strides. Following that, I changed into my backup pants and was able to dance and move around.
We all bought suits for cheap with the expectation that even if they're not the best quality, we would have them for life - whereas we should've just rented since nobody is going to be able to wear these again in the future. Poor job across the board. Suites were measured wrong, communication was bad, and inability to follow instructions on the necessary alterations or ensure they were done correctly. I'm lucky I didn't end up getting married in basketball shorts. read more
