I recently tried the Mendocino Farms at the Promenade in Scottsdale. Then, I learned a new location would be opening in Arcadia at 44th Street and Indian School. I signed up for a promotion for a free entree with purchase online for when they opened up, and yesterday, I was nearby and wanted to give it a try. The food was extremely tasty, and the service was good, too. I ordered my meal to go so that I could pick up and bring back home a meal for my wife to enjoy as well.
When I arrived to Mendocino Farms, there was a small line at the register, and the cashier took our order while answering questions. By entering my phone number, the promotion I received via e-mail was applied. I gave my name and phone number so that I would receive a text when my order was ready. When my text came and I stood up, the team knew it was me, and they met me halfway and addressed me by name and thanked me for coming. The restaurant itself is nice. There was plenty of seating from booths to round tables to high tops inside and then traditional tables outside under a mister, too.
I ordered a "Not So Fried Chicken" sandwich, which I was told was a bestseller. It came with chicken, Mendo's Krispies, mustard pickle slaw, tomatoes, pickled red onions, herb aioli, toasted ciabatta with a side of golden BBQ sauce. It was delicious, and the Krispies certainly added to the experience. I ordered my wife the "Vegetarian Pesto Caprese" sandwich. It came with fresh mozzarella, marinated red peppers, basil pesto, mixed greens, balsamic, and panini-pressed ciabatta. Instead of chicken, we received extra mozzarella. She enjoyed it, and it was so filling. We also appreciated that the manager Chris was walking around checking on each table, picking up trash, dropping off orders, and answering questions. I remember meeting him when I was at the Promenade location a few months ago. He thanked me for coming as well.
Mendocino Farms prides itself as "the place where happiness is always an order away." They have been in service since 2005 and offer chef-crafted sandwiches and salads with fresh, vibrant ingredients and unexpected flavor combinations. I certainly felt that way when stopping by yesterday.
