I went to Mendelson Autobody Center because my car's trunk wouldn't close properly. Before coming here, I had visited a few other shops--one said they'd have to remove the entire panel just to diagnose the issue, and another wanted to try different fixes one by one. All of them quoted high prices and didn't inspire much confidence. Then I found Mendelson on Yelp and saw their great reviews, so I decided to give them a call. The person I spoke with was friendly and told me to bring the car in so they could take a look. When I arrived, Jose greeted me and immediately started diagnosing the problem. He quickly noticed a misalignment with the trunk. He took the car in, fixed it in about 15 minutes, and didn't charge me a dime! I was honestly shocked--in the best way. Jose is amazing. Mendelson demonstrated honesty and integrity throughout my truck's repair. They replaced my rear bumper, right rear light assembly, and right rear side panel on my old Honda Ridgeline. I got several estimates, but Jose at Mendelson asked the most questions and came up with the best and most accurate estimate. They scheduled me and completed the work within the estimated timeframe. Other shops didn't listen to the fact that I didn't need my old truck cosmetically perfect, so they included parts (e.g. trim, bumper top, reverse sensor, etc.) that really didn't need to be replaced. That fact, Mendelson's far more reasonable labor rates, and the lower potential cost of any surprises (there were none) led me to choose Mendelson. I am very happy with my decision. read more

Took my Civic Type R that was involved in a collision at a Costco parking lot to Mendelson Autobody. They replaced the driver rear door, rear quarter panel, side skirt, and flare for me and all with OEM parts. The repairs included some welding which was done to look as natural/OEM as possible. On the surface, it looked perfect just like OEM. You wouldn't be able to tell unless you knew what to do look for. After getting my car back, I brought it over to carmax to see what it would appraise for. To my surprise, the carmax person inspecting my car was able to see that it was repaired by looking within the layers and welds that could not be seen on the surface. However, the carmax person mentioned this was the best work they've seen someone repair a car as it looked very close to OEM/natural as possible. In addition to the great work done by the shop, Jose was the point person that helped me with my case. Through my interactions with him, he was honest, helpful, friendly, and patient with all the questions I had. I very much would recommend going to this body shop if you need your car repaired as they have both great work doing the repair and great customer service. Unfortunately, I recently dented the front left quarter panel of my Acura MDX by hitting a post. Despite having 90K miles, my car was otherwise in excellent condition. I was particularly concerned that a new quarter panel from a repair shop might not match perfectly, due to the subtle fading of the car's color over time. However, Victor assured me that they would blend the paint so well it would be impossible to tell the difference. After receiving two other estimates--one higher and one lower--I chose Victor's shop because he gave me a confidence the others did not. I took my car one day for a color match, his technician completed the color matching in 20 mins. He told me he would get back once the part is ready in a few days. I drove out with my vehicle. Then he ordered the part, had it colored and called me in 3 days. I went to the shop again and this time they took 2 hours to complete the entire job while I waited there. Jose provided an estimate that was very competitive with the larger shops and very fair in the labor rate. (Other shops often charge much higher rates for "self-pay"). He also called when he came across additional damage and then patiently walked me through the repair process showing me the exact areas where the work was being done. Never had anyone do this before. Our 2023 minivan was unfortunately in a very expensive accident and we took it to Mendelson's as we had been there two other times. EXPENSIVE is all I can say. This post isn't about their quality of work or customer service, rather their lack of transparency in pricing and overpriced work. They work with 3rd party shops for repair work they cannot complete in their own shop. This would be work like car suspension, sensor calibration etc. While I found their estimates for bodywork reasonable, it is this 3rd party work where you would loose a lot of money. I had to pull my car from their shop because I got quoted 2500 for a knuckle and strut replacement which is 1500 more than what good repair shops outside were charging. They do charge 25% on everything the 3rd party shop charges as administrative fee and my experience has been that they are not transparent about these these charges and admin fees upfront. In addition they charge 3% on all credit and debt card payments (they to display the part about 3% fee in their shop). As a customer you wouldn't care about these if you are going through insurance but if you are paying off your own dime and are price sensitive you need to be aware of these details before you head to this shop. read more

It's been 19 years since I had Mendelson Autobody take care of a 'fender bender' on my wife's '01 Lexus RX300 SUV. I distinctly remember my reaction when I returned to pick up the vehicle: I was totally shocked at the job that was one ... Amazing!! Could not tell the prior damage. Fortunately, over the years we have not had any accidents ... but if I did, I would have brought the work back here. In the meantime I shared with friends & neighbors my recommendation when asked. So, I returned today after an "accident". OK, I tried to back out of the garage with the SUV rear hatch door open!!! Well, the paint & Lexus 'badge' was scratched & scraped pretty good on the rear door. I brought in the proper Paint Number from the Lexus Dealership to help with the job.
