Stay away from this place. The food is disgusting. The owner and wife are RUDE. The wine is BAD. Since they're Jewish, you'd be "obnoxious" if you try to pray before eating your meal. One of my friends (female) asked the husband to turn to our side too to explain what he was saying to the other group; he said, "quiet, I'm talking to the MEN now." While the wife is explaining us about a couple of wines and we are listening, she suddenly yells to get out. I tried to ask her what is happening, and she yells at me "get out... if you're gonna argue with me!" So I tell her, "ma'am am trying to have a conversation, you're screaming and talking over me, I'm just trying to have a conversation to figure out what happened." I was trying to talk to her like an adult because I'm honestly confused about what's going on. So she goes, "you were being LOUD from the beginning" (for context, the groups on the other side of the room were dropping and breaking their wine glasses at least 3 times and made a HUGE celebratory noise each time). When they told us to he quiet --on a rather disrespectful manner-- when we were praying, we kept it quiet from there on. So I tell her, ma'am I think there's a misunderstanding, we aren't being louder than that group when I'm next to you and can barely listen to what you're saying over them. Which was fine, this was supposed to be a fun tour, everyone was trying to have fun. We only matched the energy of the room and when we were told to keep it quiet, in the middle of PRAYING, we did. She was LITERALLY explaining wines to us before she transformed into an rhino ogre. Racists, sexists, and rude. Only way to describe them. I guess they were in a bad mood because from a bus full of people no one would buy their crap. They were mad at us for no reason and irritated at our presence, mind you, paying customers, because we prayed.

I love wine tasting and Mendelbaum was such a great experience. I came here as part of a 3 stop wine tour. The wines we tried were amazing! I walked away purchasing one bottle that I will save for a special occasion.

Okay, let's get into it! Location- off of E US-290, Fredericksburg, TX. Near stonewall, and also pretty close to Austin and San Antonio. We came as a part of a wine tour and had lunch here delivered from an Italian restaurant. The food was great but we could not enjoy it, due to the fact it was lord of the flies in there, literally infested with flies. So we ended that visit early because it was disgusting. Disappointing. Service- The young man that there was nice, he was from Israel and someone in our group was too. He got to speak with his family on the phone and that was pretty cool. Taste- The wines were good nice sweet and dry red, whites, and blush wines. Overall- I am sure I would have loved this place but the flies ruined the entire tasting and experience.

Everything was amazing. Great host, customer service and very educational. I would highly recommend this venue

We stopped here on our Fredericksburg wine tour and it had, hands down, the best wines of all the places we tried (and we went to a LOT of wineries). The wine was great and the young man doing the tasting was very knowledgeable. They also had bread and their own olive oils available to sample and purchase and they were DELICIOUS. The atmosphere and decor were spot on, and made the experience all the more enjoyable. I will agree with some other reviewers that there were some flies but they weren't that much of a problem for us. If you're doing a Fredericksburg wine tour you can NOT skip this spot for great wine, atmosphere, and service.

We all loved this place. They had wines that we all enjoyed. Plus the customer service was excellent. We tried a few of their Texas wine, but also go to sample the ones from Israel. A nice plus is the complimentary cheese plate you get with each sample. They also have olive oils for purchase. You do get to taste them prior to buying. The tasting room is pretty big. They have areas to relax at. On some days they have live music. Don't pass this place up

I have known the owner for decades and he's a bit gruff and getting crankier as he ages but he has a heart of gold ! Just be patient and give his establishment a chance. He won't forget you and you will have a great and honest experience for you and your whole family! Bring the kids....you're family now. Highly recommended!

The truth is that I was amazed at how good Israeli wine is! And without insulting the local quality but the Israeli quality is really good and that's what this winery seemed to specialize in, I tasted a number of wines and embodied them so I could not help but buy more to take home, At the pleasant welcome given by the winery owner and the amazingly invested and portable design of the place just counts the whole visit and makes me not want to leave, And when in addition to that the owner of the place gave us a discount on the purchase which made me decide that I would come back here again and would be very happy to taste more wines from their selection (which I really did afterwards :) So for those who want a successful winery in the Frederiksburg area (which is already full of wineries) and for those who are looking for a kosher winery then I think he is the only one - without a doubt he must not miss this winery

There are llamas on property! LLAMAS!!!!!! And apparently one is feisty and runs away, so it's not odd to see the workers run outside and catch her. BAHAHAH! I wish I was joking it's hilarious! Also, these wines are from the holy land, well not all, some are from Texas. They're all named after Old Testament stories, which makes you feel less guilty about getting smashed. (Especially on a Sunday like we are! It's worth a check out, it's intimate and tasty and when will you ever get to taste Israeli wine?!?!?

We came here on our first stop on a Texas Winos tour event. So far, so good. We had options of sweet or dry. The wines tasted of really good quality. I was pleasantly surprised. The sweet wines were not overly sweet and the dry choices had hints of sweetness to them. My favorites were the Promised Land and the Mare Pink. Also, the land and the building are absolutely gorgeous.

By far the best wine pairing I've ever had I buy the Exodus wine by the case. Perfect cheese and meat tray to pair with your wine.

We had a tasting of their red wines and they all offer unique profiles using grapes that we all grown in Israel.

The staff is knowledgeable and they do a great job walking you through the wines and making recommendations based on what you like. We had the Zinfandel and the Sauvignon Blanc--both were excellent. The Zinfandel was bold and smooth, and the Sauvignon Blanc was crisp and refreshing. Honestly, they never miss here. This place nails the Fredericksburg wine country vibe. Relaxed, clean, and just the right balance of upscale and comfortable. It's easy to settle in and lose track of time.
