One star for the male employee who was kind to my daughter, zero stars for the rest of the situation. I've been home sick and my daughter drove there in the pouring rain just to get me frozen yogurt. The idiot employee refused to sell her the yogurt! Apparently they were running some kind of promotion and since my daughter was there earlier, the employee claimed my daughter was trying to cheat their "no weight" promotion! My daughter said she would pay whatever the standard amount was but the woman continued to try to argue with her! My daughter was so frustrated and embarrassed she left. There was a kind male employee that tried to intervene as my daughter was walking out. Do 12 miles round trip and 30 minutes later, no yogurt=a tearful teenage girl=a mom who is ready to spit nails!! Layout is poorly thought out for busy days. While I was in there a staff member was cleaning the dispensers and because of the poor placement of the counter, I was not able to squeeze behind her to get to a new flavor. Toppings are not laid out well for busy days/ swarms of kids... There are very few flavors that interested me and I didn't even care for those once I tried them. If you're at all a picky flavor person, there really are few flavors that you will enjoy. they have too many "bizarre" flavors. They get their yogurt as a powder and add milk at the store. Generally pre-made taste better. I greatly prefer our local Yogi's Frozen Yogurt place in Gig Harbor North. read more

We have been here many times and really enjoy it. The yogurt is great, plenty of different flavors and toppings. I've never had the same thing twice. The space itself is always impeccably cleaned and the staff is super friendly and help create a fun atmosphere. read more

Yay finally some Fro-Yo a lot closer to home! This location has about 14 flavors although there was only one tart (Original Tart) but unfortunately the taste of Menchie's Original Tart doesn't quite hit the spot like other joints. Just like every other Menchies this place is bursts with energy from the pink and lime green interior. While I don't hate Menchies it just doesn't quite hit the spot like Yogurtland or Pinkberry. If this place could carry a few more tart flavors like its sister locations I'll definitely be back! read more

Meeting with friends GONE BAD!!!!! I was meeting with a few friends today at Menchies and this wasn't our first time we happen to go often so to be treated BY MANAGEMENT the way we were was aweful! I had my 2 year old son there and happened to get him McDonalds before we went to meet my friends for a treat and to catch up. I figured no biggy he can sit here and eat his happy meal while my friends and I get ice cream. After being there for an hour and the only ones there. The owner comes out while son pushes his chair across the floor (he is 2 after all) and every time I quickly get up and correct the situation the owner has the balls to pick a fight with my friend my saying rudely "he needs to leave the chairs alone and second no outside food is allowed in here McDonald's is a franchise and not allowed in here" this enraged my friend because we were paying customers second of all McDonald's isn't even a competing franchise. Third the owner needs to brush up on the health code because I've worked in food establishments and if a customer brings in food pretty sure they won't shut you down. You didn't prepare it and your not selling it. If you don't want any food in your place maybe you should be like Discovery Village and POST A SIGN. Lastly as an owner of the place I expected him to treat his customers with better respect and not start a fight with them this is a small town and you never know who your customers know. It's not like we brought yo-gi into the place it was food for my son. Further more we bought a stuffed toy from them for 12 dollars plus the ice cream. NOT FAMILY FRIENDLY! Very disrespected, rude.... Lets remember my son was 2 it's not like it was full of people and he was terrorizing the place. He moved a chair a few times and was eating chicken nuggets before ice cream. Never going back I deserve an apology. If I could give 0 stars I would. What type of place offers a coupon and then doesn't honor? So we have paid 5 dollars for a $10 coupon and now can't use it. Not only that but the customer service was not at all very good. The girls were way more interested in talking to each other then helping anyone. If you are looking for froyo in Gig Harbor I way recommend going to Yo! G's Frozen Yogurt close to Costco, awesome service super nice people, and better yogurt. I hope this helps people to never buy any type of groupon, yelp, or living social deal from Menchies anytime soon, because you'll never get to use it at this location. read more

I love the concept of these yogurt shops that are popping up lately. There are two in the area and I like Menchies the best. Yo G's is a little cheaper I think, but I like the flavors of yogurt as well as the toppings better at Menchies. Now that it is summer I will probably be dropping by a few more times in the coming months. read more

I went into Menchie's on 10/10/2012 with the preexisting notion that I would enjoy frozen yogurt, great conversation with friends and a positive environment. Unfortunately, the owners, who are husband and wife, devastated my experience as well as my accompanied friends. The owner negatively expressed an irrational argument that condemned my friend and her adorable and lively two year old son for bringing in McDonalds. Let me express truthfully, the happy meal was hidden within the mother's dipper bag and wasn't obvious to anyone except the owners because there were no other costumers present during our visit. The husband was expressively irritated because the sweet little boy acted like a normal two year old and made a little mess with his french fries. It is not a crime for a two year old to be hungry and therefore reprimanding my friend for feeding her child is quite simply ridiculous. McDonalds doesn't compete with Menchie's purely by the fact that they do not offer same product. I have been to Menchie's several times, after my last visit I have absolutely no desire to return. Instead, if I truly desire frozen yogurt I'll go to Yo G's but personally I'd rather have a Blizzard from Dairy Queen. By the way the three of us spent a total close to $30.00, which included a stuffed animal for the two year old boy. We did not rob a cent from the owners; instead they both robbed our sense of good costumer service. read more

I don't normally review places like this, but the Fro-Yo was so bad I felt I had to review Menchie's. Our family loves Fro-Yo and were excited to try a new shop so close to our home. So shortly after opening we took a family walk only to be disappointed. The yogurt tastes like it is made with artificial flavorings and not the good kind. I had the cake batter and it tasted like they used some sort of artificial syrup and it left an aftertaste in my mouth. I also had chocolate sprinkles on my yogurt and they even tasted fake-more like rainbow sprinkles. My hubby had the original tart and was not impressed either. We tried the other flavors including the coconut (which tasted like the artificial coconut syrup used in baked goods) and none of them were too impressive. We'll continue to give Yo G's our business when at home in the harbor and Red Mango our business when out in Seattle. read more

Unlike what others have said, the yogurt they get is not from a powder, the only premade flavors are the low carb/no sugar added flavors. Menchie's does have a private label collection for their yogurt which is made in their factory. please do not say things that aren't true. Frozen yogurt is also better for you than most ice creams, menchies does offer a variety of nonfat, lowfat, low carb, no sugar added, flavors. all of them not having high fructose corn syrup and no RBST's. they also offer dairy free for the lactose intolerant and such. read more

I have had nothing but prompt service from the employees, someone is always there with a smile to greet me. The flavors are exceptional, and they always have one low carb AND one NSA (no sugar added) flavor. All in all, this Menchie's is wonderful! read more

This menchies is the worst menchies I've gone to. Sometimes there is no one out to ring you up and you wait. Their flavors are always out and same with the toppings. I know people who work/worked here and the owners treat them so badly. They do not get the tips they earn and the communication is awful. Bad experience here. read more

This menchie's is a small location, a little cramped, and quit messy many times I've been there. My family has recently stopped giving menchies our business. The last time we ate their froyo my husband almost immediately puked his up.. Though we don't know if it was from the yogurt or from the toppings. My husband never pukes and dose not have an intolerance to dairy. That was the last straw for this family. To top off the bad experience there were little to no good cold toppings. The bananas were getting pretty brown, definitely wouldn't want to top my froyo with those. The strawberries also look a little old, probably not as fresh as they want you to think. As a customer walking in you look and judge cleanliness. Layout and costumer service.. Tables and chairs are often dirty from the previous ppl sitting at them. If its not the tables and chairs its a dirty floor or topping area. Many of the employees are nice and helpful but usually don't say much if anything til you get to the register or have a question for them. They could improve on greeting ppl and conversing with customers while they get their yogurt. And from sitting in the store while we ate our froyo I watched the employees, one seemed annoyed that she was being asked a question by a very sweet older lady. The tip jar also caught my attention because it had just some change. And our visit was in the evening, so I read the jar which says "only tip if we make you smile" or something close. After reading I thought well maybe if their greetings were said more, tables were kept cleaner, along with topping area, more interacting and conversing with customers, and smiles from the employees maybe they'd get more tips. like I said before this was in the early evening. Though we have been in before around late morning its less busy and cleaner. But with that being said makes me wonder how long those cold topping really sit out if there slow till evening time. Plus when we went In on that late morning visit there was no employees out front to greet us or help if we had questions. We did not see them til we were ready to be rang up, which was about 5 mins. After not greeting us or apologizing for it they were vary quite kinda made their attitude seem cold like they did not want to be there... At $.45 an oz I would so prefer a flurry from McD's or a blizzard from DQ. read more
