This place is a HARD NO. When we stopped in we first wanted to use the restroom to wash our hands. There was NO soap in the bathroom and when we informed the associate she stated casually "oh yeah, we are out". It was at this point I should have just walked the hell out because that's gotta be a MAJOR health code violation for employees to not be able to wash their hands. Insteadnof running for the hills, I filled my soft serve cup, paid, and left. By the time I got to my car I instantly regretted my decision. The bathroom situation and the overall uncleanliness of the facility started to weigh on me and I ultimately opted not to eat the froyo I had just paid for. Menchies is my lunch treat after appointment & errands at least every other week. I like this location. Clean & well stocked. Quality consistent. Nice place to take a break. My only minor complaint is the whole tip issue. When the adult male is there ( he appears to possibly be the owner) he takes away the awkwardness when paying by skipping that whole part on the pay terminal. When it's one of the teenagers, it gets mentioned. I have to say, the staff is always polite and professional- no attitude at all. I just have an issue in tipping when I get my own food. Stocking & cleaning areas are part of the job. I just wish most of the places where it is serve yourself or take out would remove the awkwardness of tipping. read more

The flavors that we're working we're good, the condiment bar was okay (boba and cherries have seen better days). I'm most concerned about the young man that was working the other night around 8pm. He wasn't wearing any type of uniform or hat so I had no idea he even worked there.. kept asking my mom and I questions like plans for the rest of the week..? I answered kindly and he just stood there and stared at me with no expression.. he made us very uncomfortable and kept talking about going to the back to grab lids when I clearly saw them under the counter.. idek it was very odd. We stopped in here yesterday after our Easter egg hunt. They have a good selection. 14 flavors, 4 of which are vegan. Lots of toppings to choose from. Only two others in there, so very chill and the establishment is clean. You can sample the flavors before deciding on them, also. read more

The good? It's frozen yogurt! They have toppings! You can mix and match however you want! The bad? The yogurt isn't as high quality as other places around like the place in Silverdale. An absolute disgrace. The environment was filthy. The yogurt machines were so dirty with a few of them "not working ". The staff members were more concerned with conversations in the back then helping guests or tending to the environment. To top it off, I kindly asked for a way to contact the owner. Normally this place would get five star's. Went in today to get ice cream and filled our container and was told after we filled and paid when we asked for lids they didn't have any. If they ran out and he forgot to order them today. This was the owner. Then we were trying to give a solution and the owner wasn't listening and wanted to say oh we just ran out. Then an older lady came out. And had a solution using the pipe lid and putting our Fort size container full of ice cream into the pint container. We were alittle grossed out. The solution would be to at least put a sign up to say ran out of lids sorry. But that wasn't done. if we would've known this we wouldn't have gotten ice cream here. Very poor customer service. This location is always fantastic. Great customer service and clean store. For my daughter's 8th birthday I wanted to get a cake from somewhere different. I cannot say enough good things about this cake, it turned out incredible! I was so impressed. They put so much time and effort into it and made my daughter's day even more special. What I don't understand is why you are asked if you want to leave a tip, this is done by the worker as well as the debit machine (programmed by owners)..... this is a SELF SERVE yogurt shop! What exactly have they done to earn a tip? Earn a paycheck, sure!! Tip? Why??? It's sad to me that young workers are being taught to have their hand out, this will slide into more major issues in the future. I have decided to stop going there. Warning! This menchies has been sold to a new owner! Our family loved to go to menchies for years, Steve as an owner was kind, attentive, and had amazing workers. The new owner has chosen to discontinue the local school takeovers and support, as well as the Friday fillup. So if you come here with your little ones to support their schools or sports teams, think again! The final time I went in I heard a yapping small dog in the back and when I asked the worker what that was about I was told it was the owners dog! The poor teen workers looked embarrassed, uncomfortable, and exhausted.... This is an obvious health code violation... overall so disappointed that our family spot has to be changed. read more

Was looking forward to a great froyo place since we just got done visiting our son in port orchard, we stopped off in gig harbor to get some! We pulled up and I seriously thought this place was closed, since there was no cashier there... we walked in waited a good five minutes then proceeded to get froyo, the chick just casually walks out from the back, we thought she might have been cleaning something or restocking maybe a bathroom Break... def not... two froyos were out and the trays were all dirty, which I have seen in other froyo dessert shops the men and women wiping them off and rinsing them off in the back. This girl was just ready to close, it was 9pm so she had an hour left , she walked out and said "oh ha ha hey" as she stood right in front of me which she then just went to the register and stood. I proceeded to get my froyo, and toppings weighed and left. There was no one else in there, and I was just puzzled to say the least like my husband was joking saying "anyone could rob this place since when we pulled up till when we got inside and then got froyo the cashier was not present what-so ever" not very satisfied. But goal here was to get froyo which we did ! So there is a silver lining to a odd encounter ! read more

An average fill your cup up and toppings kind of place. I do find the yogurt flavors very intense. There's no sorta vanilla coming out of the machine... It is like chewing on a vanilla bean. (My suggestion would be to stay away from the toasted marshmallow... It is nearly like getting the stick and the smoke inhalation). We have always had perky, helpful cashiers in the three times we have been in. Apparently, the owners got the message from Yelp and are scarce these days. Her English wasn't easy to understand so it was hard to have her understand what I was looking for. Such a great experience! I wish we had gotten the staff member's name, but he was so incredibly awesome! We went just as things were kind of opening back up. The staff member was super helpful walking us through their new procedures, which was fantastic considering what a hands-on experience froyo typically is! We were supplied with masks and a hand cleansing station. He told us how we could safely sample the flavors without worrying about de-sanitizing anything too much. All the toppings were pre-portioned into little cups with lids in 2oz(?) servings. We were allowed to add them to our cups then or take them with us. This made it so easy for them to add up the weight should we have chosen to take the mini cups with us instead. We were so grateful to have an employee take such initiative to make us comfortable in these weird times while upholding all their safety and sanitation protocols. I cannot speak highly enough about the quality of ingredients they offer at Menchies. We've been fans of them since before their days on Undercover Boss. We have visited this store several times. Today, we walked in and the place was buzzing with energy, with the OBVIOUS exception of the staff. The 2 girls behind the counter were like zombies. I don't recall if we were greeted and both of them were just standing there with their eyes down. A pathetic sight. A few moments later one girl was leaned over with her elbows on the counter next to the cash register scrolling through her phone that was "hidden" next to the register. The other girl was fussing with the waffle maker. We were still getting a "customers bother us" vibe. We chose our treats and paid, noting that at least one of the zombies was at least capable of eye to eye contact and a smile. Perhaps a visit from someone at corporate could ensure the happiness and joy that this franchise proclaims to exude. NOTE: Coconut tasted like sunscreen. Honeydew tasted like shampoo. We hated those but if that's your thing- go for it, there's plenty left. read more

My wife and kids and I love Menchie's, never been disappointed. The layout could use some work, but her it's a small shop what do you expect airplane runways? All the flavors we have tried have been very good and being able to sample everything before you buy is great! My wife tries absolutely every frozen yogurt shop around and this is by far her favorite and by far the best bang for your buck. The prices for a bowl of topped for-yo is about a 1/3 less than any other place she has been. We will continue to go back repeatedly. read more

BLUF (Bottom Line Up Front): Typical fro yo place. But good flavors that change on a regular basis and good toppings. We have been going here almost every Friday for about 2 years. We are almost always happy and the few times we aren't it is because of our own fault (sometimes you make a bad mixing of flavors and toppings. So they have the traditional flavors that really never change, such as tart, vanilla, chocolate, cake batter, and something else involving chocolate. However, they always have 8 other kinds available. In total they probably have about 40 flavors. Our favorites are PUMPKIN (the best we have had), spiced chia tea, and cinnamon bun. They also have a number of fruit flavors that are amazing. The tough choice is to decide whether to go with the heavier flavors like chocolate, cinnamon bun, etc, or go for the fruit flavors. They have a good variety of toppings as well. For a while they went with some really bad mochi, but they have since corrected that and are great once again. The best thing (and worst thing for our waist lines) is that on Wednesdays and Fridays after 9pm you can put as much fro yo and toppings into your cup for ONLY $5. That is an incredible steal. Also, they give military discounts. The employees are always nice and attentive and this place always seems to be busy (including in the dead of winter). read more

My family and I love menchies. I can't complain about the goodness that is their frozen yogurt and all the yummy treats to put on top. My reason for 3 stars is SERVICE. Most the employees are teenagers who do not act like they enjoy being there. Also, we had a Groupon coupon for Menchies and when I went to try to use it they told me no, they would not honor it because they had no way to scan or enter it? I asked them why their company would put out coupons if they weren't redeemable and the employee had no answer and basically told me too bad there was nothing they can do. The employee was rude and did not try to make it right what so ever. Because of their rudeness, I left and went to Dairy Queen down the road. I like Menchies but will NOT be returning to the Gig Harbor/Pt Fosdick location. read more
