I went to pickup 12x12 patio block and top soil and bags of sand. Jerin helped us. Very patent, polite and loaded everything. My friend ordered everything on line. Went to the guard shack and he to was very helpful. I am not new to Menards but this experience makes me like it all the more. All the people I have worked with have been stellar. This review is based solely on the return desk and my initial visit AFTER contacting the manufacturer of defective product. Once I escalated all the way to district manager? My $900+ return was quickly taken care of. Kudos! That? While nice and much appreciated, it was over some, I am gonna say, ASSHOLE MIDDLE MANAGER, shaved head, that thought he was going to treat me in a way. Yeahhhhhh, NO. Get Out? With security? After he threatened to call police, which I invited him to do. What a douche. Glad they also have audio there. They can see and hear. Because of this? I am very disappointed in the customer service of this store. It took me more than 15 minutes to find someone to help me and then I met with 3 different employees who weren't helpful. I just needed a sample for Vinyl plank flooring to match our current floor and there weren't any samples available. there was an already opened box containing 7 planks with damaged edges and I asked to take one as a sample since they can't sell the damaged products. I was told I had to buy a whole box. She was rude and left immediately. They clearly forgot that good customer service is the whole point and weren't into helping people. I went across the street to Home Depot and Marcus was incredibly kind and helpful! *Home Depot lets you take a whole plank for a sample and you don't have to pay for it. read more

If you're looking for a store that is stuck in the 1980s this is the store for you. I ordered 22 bags of natural wood mulch online drove all the way out here to pick it up, and it was not in stock. I asked for a refund and the person manning the refund had to print out a form and then walk the form to the front desk, where your refund will take 5 to 10 days to appear on your credit card. That's normal. I'm not upset that I'm more annoyed that my online order went through and the product was not available because of the product not available. They should not allow you to pay for it in order online so now I've wasted almost 2 hours of my day to Menards walking around Menards for a refund no mulch. Nobody was very kind or Or shared when there might be more natural malt in stock is what it is should've just stuck with Home Depot planes or Lowe's none of which are close to Home Depot so hopefully they have natural mulch. read more

I was told my stove would be delivered between 7am -12pm and it is currently almost 2 so I called and it on hold for 25 minutes , I finally hang up, call back just to get the same kid to answer and say "oh yeah I'll check on that" then transfer me to someone else that now says , " oh when you set this up , did you ho through the check out lane after " umm nope because I did that all before I went to set up the pickup why the hell would I do that twice , apparently he said for the delivery, we lo I was t the pick up and delivery counter to set it up and there was no fee because that was included when I purchased the first stove that turned out not to work and now, will apparently have it here ASAP. You have got to be kidding me. Spend that much on 1 appliance, you should never have to deal with a headache like this and now my whole Saturday is shot waiting for this from a pace that clearly has no idea what they are doing and a bunch of kids working there that have no work ethic or respect for customers . I have shopped at Menards a few times and some are OK but the 54th Steet store has the worst informed/trained workers. Also, I tried to complain to management and they just blew my complaints off. Due to this I doubt if I will ever shop at any Menards and hope others have the same feelings if they have had issues with this poorly run business. read more

Wish I could go lower, because of the uneducated Front End Manager, Michelle, and the Store Manager, Nick. Did not know the policy of refunds if a product goes on sale! Was treated rudely and belittled because the amount was "only" $10! Could not explain where the policy was listed and said whoever told me the policy was wrong. I FEEL it is BS Menards REQUIRE and mandatory to wear face mask in the store. CDC only recommends to wear one. Home Depot and Lowes do not require face masks. I was turned away at the door, told I could purchase one at the service desk for a dollar. The store sells them, 10 pk for $7.91. That would 79¢ each. They makes up the price 20¢ on top of the mark up for the box. I could get a 50 for $9.69 on amazon. These masks are a power trip money scam. According to LiveScience masks lead to more infections. They are reused and the washable are not washed. The cloth holds in moisture allowing bacteria to grow. The whole "counting" of Covid is falsely counted. People die "with" covid vs died "from" covid. Someone died in car accident WITH covid, is counted. POINT IS: REMOVE THE MANDATORY FACE MASKS. read more

Sad way to greet shoppers with a "black-face-mask" actually a black bandana like our of the old west! Very threatening telling my wife and I that we can't enter without a face mask. I told him that I would not be shopping there in the future. (He could have cared less!) Here we are at the close of this pandemic as businesses begin to open, and you have Menards threatening people not to enter without a face mask. Absolutely ridiculous. I'm not sick, but I do have breathing issues and am prescribed an inhaler. Wearing a face mask would cause me more harm than good. Awful experience I recently ordered a garage door online mid March. It indicated this was in stock. I put down my delivery date and never heard anything from Menards. The week of my delivery I called to ask the order desk to ask if everything was still on track for delivery. They told me yes no issues. The day of delivery I called at 3 PM to confirm delivery would take place they - the worker told me "Looks like it's out for delivery" I called again at 7pm asking for an update. This time the worker again said out for delivery. The day after delivery I got a call from The manager (only after reaching out first) and she said this wasn't available for delivery. That it is now on back order, and will be a "Special delivery" with another 6-12 weeks. She had no answer to what happened to the door in the stock, why when I called and spoke to workers 3 other times nobody seemed to know this information. Moral of the story this was an awful experience and now I'm having to jump through loopholes to get the refund. I will be sticking with Lowe's where I might pay more but at least they have decent customer service. read more

This store only has 1 electric scooter (Amigo) available for handicapped people that need to shop there but have a hard time walking or getting around. Do you guys think you could get a couple of more scooters ? I had to sit out in a handicap parking spot. And literally wait for the 1 scooter to come thru the exit door so I could flag the customer down who was using it. I got lucky, I only had to wait about 25 minutes. More scooters please !!! Menards has everything I needed for my home renovation. The prices are very fair and they always have plenty of inventory. Yes, it might be hard to find assistance because it's a giant store... deal with it or don't go. Aisles are clearly marked. Some people will leave a bad review because there is too much help or they can't find someone. Those people should stay home and order online delivery. This store is amazing! I stopped in today to get a deck plan and estimate for adding on to my deck out at the lake house. I was helped out by a gentleman named Adam. I visited the Wyoming, Mi Menards for corrugated steel. They had 4 sheets available, but I needed 20. TINA in the building department could not have been more helpful. She took the initiative to locate product at a sister store across town and called that location to confirmed they had stock. TINA had the inventory pulled and the product ready to go when I arrived. I ordered a shed kit from this Menards. They said it would be here on Friday being delivered. Called Thursday afternoon saying they didn't have all the material, and told me I would have to come pick up the extra stuff when it's in stock. I already paid for everything, so I asked what about the other stores do they have the extra stuff in stock? Yes they do. But the first call with the idiot woman at Menards said there was nothing they could do. I was in such a rage so I told her I would call back in a bit so I didn't explode on her. The second call was with a manager and he said he would send someone to the other store to pick up the extra stuff to be put on the trailer with the rest of the stuff for the delivery. Then the delivery guy calls me and Barely speaks English and I'm not home but I tell him exactly where I want it, In my drive way because that's the easiest spot. The idiot delivery guy didn't listen to me and proceeds to drop all the material in my neighbors yard with out permission, my wife was home to take pictures of all of this, she tried to tell him where to put it but again he did not understand English. Do NOT use Menards for delivering a simple shed kit let alone anything else like such. read more

Very disappointed in customer service and availability of materials. Yesterday I went to the Wyoming menards in search of a drum or orbital sander. Friendly front desk staff told me the pricing and after telling her I hoped to rent It tomorrow I happily did the rest of my shopping. I stopped by the front desk again before leaving to clarify something and a different staff member I talked to said that both sanders are broken. I was confused as I had just asked someone about it and the manager looked over at me from a few spots down and rudely said "yeah they've been out of commission for months and we don't know when they will be back." Thank goodness I checked back and didn't show up the next day... why didn't the previous person tell me that!? I called the comstock park menards last night and they confirmed that yes, they have the sander and it is currently available. They said that we can't reserve it and it's first come first serve. My husband and I woke up early to pick it up this morning thinking there was no way in the 2 hours between us calling (on New Year's Eve!) and their close had someone else rented it. The front desk lady informed us after we drove alllll the way to comstock park that someone rented it last night. It should've been returned this morning but hadn't been and they technically could keep it as long as they wanted. Frustrated, we asked if they could call us when it came back in and they said they could not. So you can't reserve rentals and since they location close to us has broken ones we have to drive all the way to comstock park to have a "chance" that it might be there. Staff didn't seem apologetic and we left frustrated. Why on earth would you only have 1 working machine in all Kent county that you can't reserve?! Only reason my review isn't 1 Star is because their prices are low. Too long, didn't read: if you need to rent a sander for your floors do NOT go to menards. read more

after waiting for 15 minutes just find someone in the flooring. Wow manger in flooring not happy with having to look up form his Facebook on his phone to answer a question about flooring. when i asked "got anything like this or at lest same color tone." Does not bother to even look at what hard wood flooring i have that needed to match. He points to flooring saying this all i got and not even close to the same color tone. i ask if is there anything else his reply "NOTHING NOT HERE" how dare i try and find something that matches for flooring. go and explain what happend to service counter to be told hes having a bad day and nothing was going to happen... last time i go to Menards , went on over to the home depot got great customer service they had no problems looking around help dig through what they had to help me find what i needed. read more

I order a bunch of lumber and parts for delivery for the soonest available on the site. Called to confirm and got the ok all good. Come 6pm still nothing and turns out it's scheduled for 4 days from that day. The "Gm" doubt it was the actual Gm. Said well on line you get what you get and offered nothing to help out or anything. Garbage, don't recommend them at all! You are better off cutting your own trees down for lumber. Just gross the lack of customer service. read more

I special ordered a roll of sheet vinyl flooring and was excited to pick it up (it even arrived on time). I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw it laying on the floor and bent at a 90 degree angle right in the middle! I was shocked and told the girl that it was ruined. She made a phone call and they had it in stock... which was great, but confusing as to why I had to order it. Whatever. She said the flooring guy would cut it and bring it back and she would bring it out to my van, so I go outside and wait about 30 minutes. Nothing. I went back inside and before I could say anything a guy called to ask where the roll of vinyl is. I was told that I need to walk all the way across the store to go get it because the guy keeps helping other customers that show up! Fine, I just want to get my flooring and leave. He cuts it and puts a few little strips of shrink wrap around it and sends me back across the store where I grab a roll of shrink wrap sitting by an aisle because this vinyl needs to be protected and kept clean while it's being transported - Duh. So now I'm in the order pickup area wrapping this 12 foot long roll by myself like I work there or something. I get done and wait for someone to assist me with putting it in my van - Btw, I'm a 54 year old woman with a bad knee. Nobody looks at me or says a word while they help other people that probably haven't been waiting for over an hour or dealt with the disappointment of this experience. I asked for help and I got an, okay, after this guy. I got so sick of their crap that I just did it myself in 2 minutes and told the guy THANKS FOR NOTHING. I was trying to be nice. He just acted like it happens every day. It probably does considering how the employees act around there. That's why I only go there when I can't find what I want anywhere else. Wanted some basic cabinets for the workshop. Their clearvue line seemed to fit the bill. Person in cabinets wrote up the order and said it had everything I needed except 3 out of 4 doors were on back order. Went to pay and was told to check back in two weeks for the back order. Two more week wait. This stretches to 3 weeks. Go to pick them and the cabinets up and find out from the very rude employee in pick up that my order was never picked and that I need to go get all the cabinets and parts myself. When I ask her where they are she says " upstairs where you cant go". So how the hell am I supposed to get them if I can't go there. Finally after I say I'm not leaving without them she gets someone to pull them. Well I get them hone and open the boxes and what do I find. The wrong color cabinets. Do I really want to go through this crap again? Then I find on my bag of "necessary parts" 70 feet of edge banding and 50 3" screws. Who figures I need 50 screws for 6 feet of cabinets and what the heck. They standard boilerplate answer from management "I guess we need to do better" you think? read more

Found an item online at Menards I wanted. Wrote down the full description,model number,Menards sku etc. Took a screenshot on my phone. I looked around for about 25 minutes. Could not find it. I chased down 9 or 10 different employees and asked politely where I could find the item I needed. All acted like I was bothering them. All of which pointed in a general direction or gave a vague response. The first 4 said outside. The others said way back towards the corner. The last 2 said it was upstairs. Not one would walk even a few feet to show me.I finally found the space where item should be. It was full of other items. The section was outside literally about a quarter to a half mile back on the edge of the property. Then up some scaffolding stairs. Then another 50 yards squeezing through items that were blocking my way. After spending an hour and 20 minutes I left and drove to a Home Depot way across town where they walked me directly to the item. Lesson learned!! With all the Lowes,Home Depots etc. how does this place stay in business? read more

Purchased steel roofing for my home on September 23rd. Was told I would get an email when it arrived. No email but I was able to track down my order eventually. Then they "lost" my steel roofing. I had to reorder it. Suffice it to say that promised delivery dates came and went and here we are at November 23rd and I still don't have my steel roofing. I had workers at my home to install the steel roofing after Menards did finally deliver materials on Saturday November 21st but when the workers arrived to install the roof on Monday, they found that the delivered materials didn't include the steel roofing I have been waiting on for two months. Menards showed no desire to work with me to make it right. They don't care about customers service. I am so frustrated with their poor service and disregard for customers that I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and with the Federal Trade Commission. Will never shop at Menards again though I have spent many thousands of dollars there this year remodeling my home. read more

I am just exasperated by my most recent exchanges with this company. I purchased an entire line of kitchen cabinets, the Value line Ontario finish, for an investment/starter home for my family and so far we have spent over $4,000 on everything. As per-usual service and items have been decent reminding me why I have an account with this store and not the competitors. But, so far in just the cabinet order alone, 2 cabinets were not delivered and I was forced to drive to and from multiple locations to find and acquire cabinets that should have been delivered the first time (i was told they had the complete order) and for the fee I happily paid (closing in on 100 miles for all the trips). Not to mention that I was accused of trying to steal cabinets because the cashier ran the order up incorrectly at the Wyoming store, the 2 missing cabinets were accidentally rung up instead of three I was exchanging because of damage. This led to me trying to acquire the undelivered items at the Comstock Park store and being refused only to have everything fixed after an HOUR phone call and driving the 30 mile round trip again later. Furthermore I just discovered ONE MORE THAT WAS NOT DELIVERED and I have to go find that one tonight... On top of that, I have returned 5 cabinets so far that were damaged beyond what I would be able to overlook and install. Whole sections of the cabinets have been broken completely off when the packaging was removed. It pains me to ask, but is this the result of the shipping personnel or the staff at the Wyoming Michigan store (the location closest to my home)? I was planning on purchasing laminate or tile flooring as well as appliances, and I was excited that it might be during the 11% sale, but at this point I don't know why I even have an account with them. I will be closing my accounts and moving my business to the Home Depot that is even closer than the Wyoming store to my home for all my home improvement needs. This may be an isolated incident, but at this point I really think they should have offered compensation for such a terrible delivery and broken product ordeal. Their response: "We don't offer any deals below our already low prices." So, elsewhere I take my, and anyone who will listen's, money. read more

The workers at Menards Wyoming are the most incompetant and unknowledgable of any store I've seen. I went to the electrical department and asked the person in charge where grounding wire, cable standouts and geounding blocks were. She didn't know what they were. After looking up and down the aisles she said, "Maybe, they are in hardware, and proceeded to walk away towards hardware as I stood dumbfounded. She never looked back and never noticed I wasn't following. I had other thinks I wanted to buy in electrical. I went to Home Depot. I went to the building department and asked for an item, I followed a person around and around as he continued to tell me, "Well, maybe its in aisle ___." I gave up following him and went to Home Depot. I order some polycarbonate panels on special order and the clerk told me they won't be in until the next week. I waited a couple of weeks and called. My order no longer existed. I wasn't told that I had to pay for the order first, before it is sent to the store. I was made to believe the items would be delivered to the store and I would pay for them then. I asked a clerk where I might find an item. She said she though it was in such and such department. She walked to the the other side of the store only to find they were not there. She asked another person who a had no clue, then another, until she found someone who informed her the item was in the first area, where it all began. I asked a manager why none of the employees seem to know anything about their jobs. He was offened and claimed he runs "a tight ship." read more
