I've been going to Menards for years and always have a good experience. Good selection and prices and helpful staff.

I do a lot of repairs, and I think all of the Menards are great, but the Tinley Park one has better sales people than the others, they are all OK but this one is the best, Menards has a better selection of repair items than the other chain lumber stores, I feel the prices are better and the quality is superior. read more

This store is huge. They just did an expansion and it is over 300,000 sq feet plus the lumber yard. It is layed out well and does not look stuffed or crowded. You can get anything from hardware, building needs, home repair, food and appliances. The big thing that really grabbed my attention was the prices. They seemed high. Menards was always a better bargain but I did not see that this time. read more

Tim in electrical is very knowledgeable and helpful. He should be promoted so he can train others to have his work ethic.

Other then waiting 20 mins for someone to help me Jackie in the plumbing department did her homework. She not only help me with my project but made it a little easier with a few fittings that I didn't even no existed. I usually shopped at Home Depot but this visit alone will make Menards my first pick. read more

I've noticed they don't hire people that actually have any knowledge about construction. I got sent to 3 different people trying to get a kit for a range hood vent and they kept showing me things that hookup to dryers. I kept trying to explain that I was referring to a hood vent for a stove, which has nothing to do with a washer and dryer. It was like pulling teeth. We also needed 40 2×4's. We drove around to the back and went inside. We asked if we could get help and the guy literally told us no you just grab them yourself they're right over there, and just pointed. I've never been denied help at Home Depot. Also it took us forever to get the 2×4's because we had to dig through to find ones that were decent. They were all splintered and warped or buckled. Looks like they get the leftover crap and then charge full price. We flip houses and buy a ton of stuff. Unfortunately this is the last time we shop here. read more

Worst store ever... I learned 2 things about this store today With a growing trend of ordering online and then picking up in store I really love what HOME DEPOT, SAMS CLUB, Walmart and every other store is doing... making it convenient to just walk inside and grab your order however... Menards has not quite seems to grasp the concept they have no signs telling you where to go for online pick up and they make you walk to the very furthest point of the back of the store to the very furthest left of the store and area I never even knew existed as a matter of fact I think it is an addition and is literally at the very far back door .... I passed the items I actually ordered with him the first 30 feet of the store and probably walked the length of a football field I'm not exaggerating to get to online pick up area! Thanks to Mike! I am now convinced Menards has no customer service he was so rude about where I was supposed to pick up telling me what do I think they are supposed to do keep everyone's order at the front of the store? Yes I said just like the above name stores ! Lastly, Charles my check out cashier boy was rude and condescendingly laughing at me when I told him I was sick and needed to leave the store he was taking too long to ring up my one item I grabbed on my journey to the back pick up area I repeated myself twice and said if you can't find it I need to go I feel like I'm going to get sick... He was rude and laughing never said hello never said goodbye .... sickening The way employees treat customers here I have so many home-improvement stores to choose from this kind of stuff really starts at the top poor management poor management poor management ! read more

I do a lot of remodeling and find this store to have the best sales associates. Very knowledgable and helpful. Builder Supply desk personnel are top notch! Prices are good but their service is excellent. Unfortunately the checkout person I met yesterday was a disaster. Not much help from service department. Really ruined my experience. Opposite of the kind people in the rest of the store. I made very large purchases and did not expect to be treated so poorly at the register. They seem to have a real "attitude" now that they do not "bag" any of my purchases and it is a sad change. Not bagging is ok but they need much more training in customer service. I have many choices where to make my purchases and the check out system is making me look elsewhere. Too bad because I so appreciate the personnel in the rest of the store. read more

Menards in tinley park location has the worst customer service, the have no idea what y are talking about if i end up at that location i go and find things by my self read more

We are fortunate in the Orland Park area to have easy access to three "big" hardware stores, namely Lowes, Home Depot and Menards, with Sears and Ace also adding their brands and experience to the mix. Mernards offers quality merchandise at a good price, and the staff is helpful and courteous. Personally, I love their easy returns. and it is a major reason that I favor Menards. If you have misplaced a receipt, but purchased with a credit card, the Menards system can locate that transaction if you present the card. It is a no hazzle experience that returns the full purchase price. (Gotta Love it!) read more

The Menards in Tinley recently had a renovation and is HUGE. Not too well lit but they do have a large variety to choose from, everything from food to lumber. Most of the time help is only a glance away. read more

Sued Menards and Won! My car was damaged by lumber that they unloaded into the middle of the yard (right in front of my car). After I loaded my lumber, I pulled forward and went up and over a load of 2x4s left in the middle of the drive. It took a tow truck to lift me off and caused $1,300 in damage. They filed a claim with their insurance company who told me it was my fault. I contacted their offices to resolve but they blew me off. I filed a suit in small claims court. It took 6 months, patience and a $250 filing fee. I did it on my own without an attorney. They sent a high priced lawyer from their WI corporate office to fight the claim but my pictures and common sense paid off. I won and they had to pay my court costs. Menards will try to get away (and fight) anything. Taking them on like this might be the only way to get them to take responsibility. Good luck. read more

What a RIP off! I would give this store zero stars if it allowed me to do so. On Saturday afternoon, I received the sale paper for the next day. Some evergreen bushes were going on sale on Sunday. I really wanted to plant them on Saturday, so I called the Menards in Tinley Park and they told me that I could purchase them on Saturday, bring in the receipt on Sunday and they would give me a price adjustment. I did just that, I purchased 8 evergreens at full price to receive the price adjustment on Sunday. When I went for the price adjustment on Sunday, they gave it to me in the form of a STORE CREDIT! If they had told me that when I called the day before, I would have just purchased them on Sunday. Menards stole my money! Poor business practice. We usually make Menards our first store to purchase items. No longer, I will go elsewhere! read more

I can't stand menards. They are sooo unhelpful and are trying to hard to expand outside on what they should be concentrating on. They seem to have more security there than employees to help with projects or ideas. I guess Im just use to Home depot. I guess thats why they call home depot ,HOME depot, because I actually feel at home there. Leave the grocery items to the grocery stores and be more helpful and attentive. WONT be back read more

I came in to buy laundry soap since the size I wanted was cheaper than a few places I see this at. I also picked up some bleach tablets for my bathrooms and a new brush for the laundry room. The guy who helped me I wish I had gotten his name so I could acknowledge the service he gave me because he was very helpful. I am amazed at how unhelpful some employees can be and when they see you trolling around the store some of them don't even ask can I help you find something? I mean part of their job is to help the customer find what they're looking for not walk past you like another customer in the store. I happen to work near this location so that's why I stopped over to get what I need because there's no Menards near my home. I also like how the store was clean and you see people working and not standing around carrying on like one big social gathering as what I've seen in other locations especially with ones where the majority of the employees are African-American. I will go back to this location if I need something because I got good service today during this visit. read more

I unfortunately worked at this place for a long time and they would have a better outcome if wet bread managed that store. Don Herr who no longer works there, thank god, was rude and had a very undeserved sense of entitlement. Also extremely inappropriate and unprofessional saying repulsive things about women like "we were doing females last night and threw the ones that fought back in the garbage disposal" who the hell hires these people anyway? Stephanie would be better off playing in dirt with her management "skills" and Jeff has the maturity of a 14 year old boy showing pics of his "gf" to all the men in the store. If I had known I was working with these infants I would have signed up to be a drive thru operator. More intelligence. So if anyone plans on working there be ready for a waste of time. read more

What is going on at Menard's??? Went to the paint department early Friday evening and it looked like a ghost town - no one to help was in sight even after roaming around the department looking for help. On Sunday we thought we would give Menard's another chance and we went to purchase a gas grill even after asking a cashier to get someone to help us and waiting 10 minutes watching an employee walk around eating chips no one showed up so once again we walked out without making a purchase. read more

I bought a new stove from Menards and within one Month it was falling apart. They were not helpful. I tried to return it and was told I could not. All I could do is call the manufacture and keep getting this stove fix. The stove again needs repairs. read more

This menards used to be the best one around, but since they have remodeled the lighting is terrible, the aisles are too small and the shelving units block your view of the entire store. read more

If I could post zero stars I would. After spending $500.00+ in their store last night, my husband and I were told to drive around to door #8 so they could load our purchase. After waiting 1/2 hour at door #8, my husband finally went looking for our purchase. He found it with no one around, wheeled it to the door and we proceeded to load our car ourselves. When I called the store manager when we arrived home, all he could tell me was "that is not our procedure". He told me their procedure twice in fact. I don't want to hear about your procedure, you need to fix it. I believe this is the last time we purchase a big item at Menards. read more

Well happy new year to us, our furnace has died, ugh! Went to menards to see if they sold or worked with a company that sold new furnaces. Walked in went straight to customer service desk and asked where do we go for furnaces, the cute little girl seemed confused, started muttering something under her breath, looked around nervously for help, didn't know. told her never mind we will walk around to find someone else. Stopped another older lady employee, asked where would we go for a furnace, she said furnace filters? I said no just a furnace, she said plumbing on the other side of the grocery aisles. Walked around to plumbing, found three employees chatting, two guys looking at us and one girl with her back to us. She turned around after noticing her coworkers looking at something and said can I help you? I said we are looking to talk to someone about buying a furnace and she said we don't sell furnaces. That's 20 mins of my life I won't get back because I went to a store that takes up like an entire acre of land and sells everything under the sun for your home, lawn and garden including a ridiculous grocery aisle, but doesn't sell furnaces. Which is fine if the company as a whole chooses not to sell everything for a home, but geez people at least tell your customer service point person, the one you see when you first walk in, that you don't sell furnaces so we could have walked right out. read more

I just wanted to inform anyone who is out there and reads reviews online. I recently bought a lawn mower from Menards in Tinley Park I used it only 1 time and then I couldn't get it started anymore they told me to bring it to countryside and have it repaired there under warranty, I brought it there and they told me it was 4 to 6 weeks out before they could work on it so I called Menards to let them know I spoke to the department mgr and he said there is nothing he could do being that I already put gas in it I could not return it anymore which I drought was a poor policy being that all there competitors such as lowes and home depot honor their products for 30 days with gas in it or not. Finally I spoke to the store mgr his name was Don he said he would look into it for me with corporate and he would get back to me so a few weeks went buy never heard from him had to call him again and he told me there was nothing him or corporate will do for me so I just wanted to let people know out there that Menards is a horrible business to purchase from and they do not back there customers up at all I WOULD STRONGLY RECOMMEND HOME DEPOT FOR FURTHER PURCHASES THEY DO BACK THERE PRODUCTS AND CUSTOMERS UP 100% read more

On June 19, 2015 I was at the Menards in Tinley Park IL 6851 W 159th Street. After making my purchase I returned to my car. A customer waiting in the parking lot told me that a shopping cart sitting at the entrance door of Menards had rolled into the side of my car (2014 Chevy Impala LTZ). I went into the store a requested to speak to a manager. I spoke to Tom Kelleher front end manager, and told him what had happened to my car. He came out to the parking lot and took a picture of the damage. He then returned to the store and views the incident on a parking lot security camera. He told me that he saw the incident on the security video; he then filled out an incident report and told me that I would be contacted by Gallagher Bassett the liability insurer of Menards. I received a letter from Gallagher Bassett stating that Menards is not responsible for the damage to my car because they have a sign in the parking lot stating they are not responsible for damages. Why did the manager take an incident report? Way did he take a picture? Be careful parking your car at Menards. I will not be returning to Menards. read more

I do a lot of shopping at this Menards in Tinley park but I always have the same problem, where is the bath room? This store wants you to go check the upstairs furniture display but try to find a rest room up there! There are no signs directing to a rest room up there, must be a secret B.R. and between all the boxes they constantly move it is a maze trying to find one! I was on my last visit on Oct 10/2017, checking the upstairs furniture, how can they sell any if there is never a person up there or if needed a sign for a bath room? Any way I almost had an accident after not finding this bathroom which they hide well. I went down and had to walk all the way to the opposite side of the store, why other stores have clear signs for a bath room? Why do you have to walk from the garden side all the way to the opposite side for the B.R.and what if you can not hold it? what if you are shopping for a longer time and need more frequent B.R., do you have to walk a quarter mile to find one? Do you need infrared vision to find the one upstairs by the furniture? My tip to Menards is this, update your store to what is so common in all USA! For a gigantic store like this they should have an available bathroom in more than one place! They should have at least 2 to 3 bathrooms with directional signs on main isles like they do at other stores. Therefore, if I can not relax while I shop and walk a very long distance to find a B.R. taking a chance to have an accident, I will shop at other stores which do not hide their B.R. or make you walk a quarter mile to go to one!are abundantly all around. In their marketing techniques Menards should consider more sales achieved by having bathrooms in a few locations so people do not have to leave the store instead of walking a very long distance to find a bath room! To finish Menards will have less items sold by not having easy to find bath rooms!!! Francesco Martiradonna read more

On 8-9-16 My wife and I were shopping at Menard at the Tinley store picking up odds and ends. Midway though our shopping excursion I noticed my cell phone was not in my pocket. Ia this point I was unsure if i left it in the car or had it w/me.When done shopping we checked the SUV as if we were going through customs. No luck.I went back into store to ask manager "Tom" if anyone turned in a phone. Again No luck. Quite frazzled at this point we zipped over to phone provider store and went through the routine for issues of lost phones and picked up a new one as well of course.Later that eve I was checking my Email on my desk top,and low and behold front end manager " Tom Kelleher" emailed me to say that my phone was found in one of the recliners ( that I sat in ) in the furniture dept. by one of their team members. I was floored and more so happy to get my phone back that had tons of info in it.So with this said I would like to say Kudos to Tom and the staff at Menards for being honest, thoughtful and more so down to earth. Tom and the staff at Menards at Tinley I hope corporate treats you the same as you treat your customers! May God bless you all! read more
