Updated 1/3/21 Once again.... I have went to this store in hopes of them redeeming themselves. Again, I have been disappointed. I went in for the 15% off sale. Anything you can fit in the bag. Welp... I did. They didn't give me the discount though. I was almost fooled by this. I got the warranty and everything. So... I walked right back in asked them to apply the discount. The lady asked diedre and she snippingly asked did everything fit in the bag, then went on to say, "A lot of times if they can't get everything in the bag, they get mad". No sweetheart. I could have simply had my husband to grab another bag and pop behind me in line. But now, I won't. I will just go to Home Depot and stop coming here altogether. This Menards location is the best for customer service. I have had the best experience in this location. I highly recommend this location.

Solid 3 Decent customer service overall, some are way more helpful than others. The lady in lighting or example, she's amazing and knows her area really well and can give really good tips and wiring suggestions too. Knows what parts you'd need and what is compatible with what too. Seems like the younger workers walking around don't know or care as much as the older ones, kinda shows how work ethic isn't as good as it once was :/ The store is large, not like the new Schererville one but, it has everything you need without being overly huge. No 2 mile walk to find a lightbulb Parking is ok, lots of dips and stuff but there's plenty of spaces. Cart returns are easy to find but are open on both sides so there's a good chance that if you park by one you'll get a cart nudge at some point. Walk in, paints and wall stuff is to the left, tools and organizing is in the middle, electrical and plumbing is too the right. Simple layout, I like it. read more

Its organized like a Dollar store. Today I couldn't find grass seed, which they normally carry, only they no longer carry it or have moved it in order to make room for Halloween items. I found fertilizer, in three different scattered locations, but no grass seed. read more

What I like about this menards is it is big, but not a giant warehouse. Reminds me of of the old school hardware store my grandfather, a master carpenter, would take me to, and get bolts, washers, and the little things that make a home. The customer service is great, they are super helpful and friendly. Also, as a bonus,it's location is close to downtown Griffith. read more

Do not order anything online and then pick it up here. You have to walk all the way back from the store to get someone to print out some paper and then walk all the way back to the front of the store to check out. You also have to wait in line which in my opinion, why did I pay for these to wait in line again? So frustrating. Also, I ordered salt pellets and the whole reason I bought online was so that I didn't have to carry them. They wanted me to grab them. read more

The employee working the customer service counter on June 2nd 2019 was extremely rude and unhelpful. So much so that i decided I would rather spend the additional $5.00 for a propane refill at Walgreens. Rather than politely ask me to take an empty tank outside, I repeat empty, she felt it was more important to tell me in a very rude manner "You not supposed to bring that in here". Since i don't work for menards I'm probably not familiar with their arbitrary rules. Yes, a full propane tank should probably be left outside, but an empty tank does not pose a risk to anyone. Maybe Menards should put a little more effort into hiring polite employees rather than rude, self absorbed, entitled twits. read more

Menards may be the Walmart of the hardware world, but their customer service is horrible. We ordered the last piece of carpet for our house, after carpeting the whole house, my wife goofed on the order and it was routed to the wrong Menards. We immediately called - and they changed to the correct store...or so we thought... Installer goes to pick it up - not there. It's at the original store. A dozen phone calls later, from the local store, to our store, to the Menards HQ in Wisconsin (the well hidden number to HQ is (715) 876-2515) - nothing but unfriendly and unhelpful people. At the store level - they were quite rude. At the corp level, they were quite snooty. Shopping Menard's during our renovation may have saved a few bucks - all lost due to this final piece. Good bye Menards, hello Lowe's and Home Depot from now on. read more

Beware of security. They can falsely accuse you theft and demand you pay $100.00 extortion money to keep from going to JAIL. Or to court, where you are demanded to pay all THEIR legal fees. There is no reasoning or talking to them. The item was overlooked at the checkout. I retuned to the store to pay the $100.00 and I was served with trespass papers! For asking questions, they said I caused a disturbance. Omg. Really? They called the police on me and I was roughed up in the parking lot. Same security man did all this. So if you have an extra $100.00 to pay them, continue shopping. Security there , wrong or right, is judge jury and executioner. This is a way to make extra money, to falsely accuse you of theft. No police reports. All menards security. ONE GUY. Buyers beware. They sell wood with black mold on it too. Is shopping there worth this kind of treatment to you? Do you have $100.00 to waste just on one guys word? All civil rights do not apply in menards. Rude arrogant and unequivocally wrong way to deal with honest law abiding citizens. read more

I purchased a door at the Menards in the larger Schereville Indiana store. After eventually recieving the door, we found out it was not going to work for our specific application. We were told there was going to be a $125 restocking fee. We made the decision to return the door, incurring the cost, and purchasing it at Home Depot (in stock). We then brought the door to the Menards in Griffith (Ridge Rd). We were then greeted by Steven Matthews the Mill work Manager. Steven went out of his way to help return the door with ease. He then re-ordered the door, carefully explaining what the orientation of the door would be. He literally took care of everything. He went above & beyond renewing our faith in Menards. Steven is a great asset to your company & what excellent customer service should be. Congratulations to Menards for retaining Steven. Steven should be training other employees on what customer service should look like in your very competitive market. Think twice. I just spoke to Sean the store manger. I can not tell you how many phone calls between by brother in law and I have had to make. Or how many trips he has had to make. We bought a bathroom vanity,sink and faucet on 3/3/18 We were told it was out stock and would be a special order. Then a week later my brother in law went and asked about it.........It was never even ordered. They tried to give him the display along with the scratches. He declined as well as he should have. We paid for a new one. Then they ordered it. Then back to the store he went again and only a faucet is there. Now today 3/14/18 all Sean can tell me is that it is in transit and could be up to 10 more days. I had to ask if that order coming was also the vanity and sink. He said let me check....and yes it is the rest of the order. I told him how many trips my brother in law had made along with the fact the he had a lot going on with family. I told him gas is not cheep and not to mention the time spent. I asked if he could do something to make this up to my brother in law, Maybe a small gift card or even a gallon of paint. NO Sorry.....no can do. Well messing up my order and for even a small $10.00 gift card or a returned gallon of paint.....you lost me and I spent a lot of money there last year buying for my chicken coop and other times when I was over in that area.Obviously you don't need me. Also instead of this review I would be telling people how Menards made everything right. My money spends anywhere. read more
