I returned cabinetry to the Baxter Menards on the morning of April 24th. While I was happy to follow the return policy and wait for a cash refund, the final transaction was marred by a total lack of business etiquette. The associate was visibly annoyed and unprofessional. When I reached for my refund, he snapped at me to leave the money on the counter until he was finished. He then scattered the cash across the countertop and dismissively told me, "You can pick it up now." This condescending treatment was entirely unacceptable. read more

Unbelievably positive experience! I asked a store employee where to find a particular item and instead of just pointing and giving me an aisle number (like HomeDepot) they insisted on walking me to where the item was and finding on the shelf for me!! My husband and I have fully renovated seven homes. We have purchased most of the products at Menards. We have retired to a Cabin that needed a back patio. We ordered patio bricks from the Menards in Baxter Minnesota. Big mistake. The Baxter Menards gets their pavers from a different cement company than the one in Saint cloud. We check and St Clouds are ten times nicer than Baxter's. I paid $179 to have them delivered. When they came, they were not tan. They were cement, colored, uneven, broken, and unusable. Proof of the poor quality of this product was that they agreed to give me another batch of 96 patio tiles. That's fine. However, as senior citizens, we had remove the junk ones. And the clincher was we had to go pick up the new 96 patio tiles. And they would not refund our delivery fee of $179. They stole $179.00 from us. They also ruined a big portion of our summer. read more

My husband prefers Menards over Home Depot (I really have no preference). In any case, this has become our preferred home improvement locations once purchasing our cabin on Mille Lacs about 2 years ago. We've been pleased with our experiences, and especially appreciate the ease this location provides in working with contractors. We were able to order carpeting and tile flooring, and our contractor was then able to come pick up the materials at a later date. read more

Terrible customer service, poor employee attitudes and most employees cannot help you they just act like their heads are in the clouds. Employees do not even make an attempt to find a solution to your issue. You would be better off asking another customer for help. We will stick with Home Depot from now on. read more

I bought some prebuilt cedar fencing. I went into the yard and none was labeled. I asked for help to find the right fence. A guy helped me load what he thought matched my invoice. I gave him a good tip. I thought all was well. No, as they were the wrong ones. I cut them up rather than drive another 50 miles to return. I filed all the rebate info, printed all and mailed it in, and couple of months go by with nothing in the mail. I called the store ,and the 22 ext. front manager instead of trying to help said go to the website. I did, nothing showed up on their rebate click. I emailed rebatesInternational with all receipts ,pick up numbers dates and they got back to say they were clueless. They asked for information I included on my first email -so clearly they can't read or care. I called 5 times to the Baxter store to voice a comment on the rebate process. Nobody would answer the phone on 4 calls , and finally got one of the general managers. I will do - - - a favor and not mention his name. Regarding no one answering the phone he said "we are really busy" and offered no help on the rebate process. Last year I bought an expensive lake pump, and that rebate was mailed to someone other than me so said the Menards employee. Nice. We're on the front end of a major home deconstruction/renovation and stopped at the Menards store in Baxter,MN to pick up a few supplies. We are familiar with the Menards store layout and fairly self-sufficient. We found the first item in the plumbing department, but had a question about the item. There were 7! Menards employees working in the plumbing department, but apparently the only one who could answer our question was on the telephone. He acknowledged us and said he would be with us as quickly as possible. The other 6 employees did their level best to avoid eye contact with us and with the three other customers looking for some level of help. We did finally find an employee on the other side of the store who directed us towards our second purchase, but we never did get the assistance on the first. We both have construction backgrounds, so we'll sort it out, but our future shopping for this project will be at Home Depot. read more

Seems like you are either a Menards guy or a Home Depot guy. I guess I bleed orange because every time I go here I spend an hour looking for what I need, it is very hard to find help, and when I do find where an item is supposed to be it is commonly out of stock! I am not sure why I submit myself to the torture of coming back, maybe it's the seductive tone of the Menards Guy's voice that they have been rerunning since 1992. read more
