Trying to grab a quick, hearty bite here before a long road trip turned out to be a test of my…read morepatience. Let's start with the logistics: this place is tiny, and the "system" they have going on is pure chaos. You order at the counter, they hand you a number, and then employees just aggressively shout numbers out into a crowded room. To make matters worse, people ordering to-go just hog the limited tables meant for dine-in customers while they wait. Management desperately needs to hand out table flags, text people when it's ready, or something, because the current setup is a bottleneck. Between the crowd and the open kitchen, expect to leave the building smelling straight-up like bacon grease. Because they were slammed, it took an absolute eternity for my food to hit the table. If you are on a tight schedule to get out of town, this is not the move. Now, the saving grace is the food--the kitchen definitely has soul. I ordered the fish and grits, and being hardheaded, I added a side of four shrimp just to compare. Learn from my mistake: just stick to the fish and grits! The fried catfish was seasoned to absolute perfection, piping hot, and the grits were incredibly creamy. The shrimp were okay, but not worth the extra cash. Honestly, the food is genuinely good Southern comfort food, but it is heavily overpriced for the tiny portion sizes and the chaotic, cramped experience. I'd probably only ever come back for a call-ahead to-go order, and only if I had zero time constraints.

The washroom is very nice and spacious and good mirror ladies, wink, wink. The food was amazing. The flavors, the presentation and the taste was 10 out of 10. We had favorites and of course but overall a good brunch spot and low key worth the hour plus wait. The staff was pleasant and smiled walking by and someone came with tab on wait time for food and the price point is excellent. This place has screened in patio seating, main dining area and a bar and still seemed comfortable and cozy. This place is definitely worth the hype!

When we first pulled up, the line was out the door, so we knew it was good. We waited maybe about 15 minutes, and then we were let inside where we placed our order at the countertop. The menu is pretty big, so there were lots of options to pick from. I got the rooster, a fried chicken sandwich, and others got the kitchen sink plate with a Bloody Mary. After you placed your order, you found an open table. All of the tables were clean and accessible. I loved the vibe! Very up beat breakfast theme. Soon after we got a table, our food arrived. It was hot, fresh, and delicious! We all basically licked our plates clean lol. After they drop off your food, there is no 'service' so you do have to get everything yourself. But, I loved this actually since it was casual and it gave you an opportunity to get up and explore a tad bit. When we were done, the 'server' took our plates and we were out the door. The line outside kept steady! But, I see why! It was a great way to start the day.

I ordered the "Kitchen Sink" along with a side of biscuits and gravy, and everything was outstanding. The biscuits were fresh, fluffy, and easily some of the best I've ever had. I got takeout, so I can't really comment on the atmosphere or service, but the food alone was enough to impress me. I'm only in Memphis for two days, and this place was so good I'm already planning to come back tomorrow to try the breakfast tacos. Highly recommend if you're looking for an amazing breakfast spot in Memphis.

We've lived in Memphis for almost 6 years due to hurricane Karina but never made our way to Millington. When we walked in we were immediately greeted by a nice young lady in a pink shirt that told us we could sit anywhere we liked. She let us know that Molly would be our waitress. So we chose a spot but it was a bit too cold for my mom and we asked to move elsewhere. I felt bad but Molly assured us it was not an issue. I let Molly know that we were in town and was suggested by a family friend. She gave us a face as if to tell us that we were in for a treat, and man was she right! The portions are HUGE for a VERY affordable price! I took it back home with me to New Orleans lol Our time was short but we WILL be back! Thank you for your kindness MOLLY!!

Sunrise Memphis did not disappoint. We stopped in around 12:30 p.m. on a Wednesday and didn't experience any crowds or much of a lunch rush. That being said, after eating here, I completely understand why people mention waiting hours on weekends. The ordering process is simple: walk up to the counter, place your order, grab a number, and seat yourself. I appreciated that they offer both breakfast and lunch all day because it meant we didn't have to choose between the two. I ordered the chicken tenders with tater tots and an Arnold Palmer. Everything was fresh, hot, and exactly the kind of comfort food you crave in the middle of a long road trip. Kyler ordered the Kitchen Sink, which came with eggs, bacon, hash browns, grits, and a biscuit. He asked if he could swap the cheesy grits and biscuit for biscuits and gravy, and they ended up bringing him everything anyway! It was a massive meal, but absolutely delicious. Beyond the food, the staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. I also loved the fun, eclectic atmosphere. The colorful Memphis touches throughout the restaurant gave it so much personality, and there was even a bar area that made me think this would be an absolute blast for brunch with friends. Sunrise Memphis ended up being one of our favorite surprises of the entire drive. If you're passing through town, do yourself a favor and stop here.

The food and coffee was so delicious. I wouldn't say I'm a food snob, but I'm particular about breakfast foods, and this made me very happy. We each ordered a coffee and the bacon potatoes to share. I ordered the Juniper Benedict and my friend ordered the loaded biscuits and gravy. The bacon potatoes were cooked perfectly, soft and slightly crunchy with plenty of cheese and bacon. The eggs in my eggs Benedict were cooked perfectly and they used a regular house-made biscuit that soaked up the egg yolks perfectly. The restaurant was pretty big, but the ambiance felt like a small-town diner. The staff was super kind and attentive, too. The cost is par for the course for a nice diner in a big city.
