We weren't impressed Don't waste your time with this company. I believe this tour company and Blues City Tours are one and the same. I searched online for a hop-on, hop-off city tour and came across this company. It was a July 4th Saturday. We arrived at the Welcome Center on time but we were also supposed to pick up other passengers at different stops. The route did not follow the schedule because we had to pick up passengers. The tour guide was hard to hear, either the microphone wasn't working well or the the bus needed servicing... it was competing with the tour guide as far as loudness. The following places were on the schedule: Ticket Booth/Hard Rock Cafe National Civil Rights Museum/Blues Hall of Fame Rock N' Soul Museum/BB King's Stax Museum Graceland Sun Studios Auto Zone Park/Peabody Hotel Bass Pro Shop (Pyramid) Welcome Center We saw 4 of the places listed above. We got off the bus in Graceland and spent quite some time there. The bus runs every hour and 20 mins but the bus came late, we could've stayed a little longer at Elvis' mansion. We thought we'd have to take Uber back in town. We could've done our own self-guided driving tour. It turned out there were only six of us who booked that day and one of the ladies with us was a tour bus guide herself in New Orleans! She too was disappointed with this company. Paid $63 ($30/per person + fees). Don't waste your $$. I was just glad to learn about The Lorraine Motel where Dr MLK Jr. was shot while standing on a balcony outside his second-floor room. THIS IS NOT NARRATED AND NOT A TOUR - WORST USE OF TIME IN MEMPHIS I love hop on and off tours when I visit a new city. You usually get a cliff notes overview of the city and attractions and then you can choose what you might want to go back to spend more time on. Usually the buses are frequent and reliable and guides or audio narrations are informative. THIS WAS NONE OF THAT! The site says buses are supposed to start running at 9:00AM and for some reason this service only run once per hour. My companion and I decided to take our time on breakfast and were at our stop to catch the second bus at 10:00 AM. The sign at the stop said it comes by that location at 15 minutes after the hour so we waited. At 10:25 we tried to call to find out where the bus was but continually got a busy signal. At 10:35 my friend walked up to the booth only to find out that the driver decided to start her day at 10:00AM at Graceland that day. She assured us she would be by our stop at 11:15. We came back to the stop at 11:05 and waited until 11:30 before the driver showed up. The bus was old, small, and smelled strongly of diesel fumes, definitely not the bus pictured in the ad. There were a few other couples on at that point and we started chatting. Some folks thought they were on the "blue line" and others wanted the "green line". When asked, the driver said she was the only driver so she would drop people off wherever they wanted. She definitely did not stick to a predetermined route and there would be no telling when the bus might decide to come back if you actually decided to hop off at an attraction! It soon became clear that there was also no narration and when asked about that the driver indicated that she already did it when she started at 10:00AM!? By this time we had ridden to the Stacks Museum which is in a sketchy area so although we wanted off this nightmare bus that by now had made me nauseous from the fumes we were afraid we might not be able to get back to our hotel. Another couple who though they were on the "blue line" told her they wanted to go to the Civil Rights Museum back toward downtown so when she headed that way we asked to be dropped off back at the Peabody Hotel so we could just get in our car and drive, which is what we would have done in the first place if we knew it was not a tour at all but a sketchy and unreliable shuttle bus. I was at the end of a business trip and I had planned for an afternoon flight so I could take advantage of the morning to get a taste of Memphis before heading home. What was supposed to be an efficient way to experience this city turned into a total disaster that sucked up our day. By the time we got of that crazy train, we only had enough time to drive up to Graceland and take a picture and then head to the airport. "Hop On. Tune In. Rock Out." That's their motto and it is perfect for tourists with no rental cars or locals who hate to drive (like me) and want to experience some culture for the day...it is the summer after all and I get bored laying out by the pool every day. Especially if I'm babysitting my friends' kid(s) and need to entertain them (hellllooo Memphis Zoo, you are my best friend). Things you need to know: they are not open on Mondays and it runs every 2 hours at each stop from 11:15 am to 5:30 pm. I cannot give this a decent rating. The ticket booth was manned at 9:30 when we arrived. She may have stayed 20 minutes and left. The bus was supposed to pick us up at 10. At 10:20 I called the number on the booth and was told it would be another 15 minutes. By the time we were picked up it was 10:35. The driver did not follow the stops he was scheduled to. He asked us which stop we wanted and took us to Sun Studio. We did an hour tour and waited for the bus again. read more

This was the most disorganized Hop on Hop off excursions we have ever experienced. First, it got started 30 minutes later than it was supposed to. They weren't even close to sticking to a schedule. The bus was in bad condition and rattled so loudly that we couldn't hear the tour director speak. We asked him to speak up, and although there speakers in the bus, he didn't use them. He skipped several of the stops on the first loop including the Civil Rights Museum. He took us out to the Graceland Complex and then wasn't going to take us by the actual Graceland mansion until we asked him to. He dropped us at the Pyramid but didn't come on schedule to pick us up, so we paid for a bus to take us back to town. The driver, Melvin, was knowledgeable and nice, but he was disorganized and ignored the schedule. read more

They are super nice at the booth to hook you and then you're screwed. One drop off and we couldn't get them to pick us back up. They stole $200 from our group. read more

I have only ridden this once but highly recommend it for out-of-town guests who want to see the sights. Some of the Memphis attractions are difficult to find and have major issues with parking. The Memphis Hop eliminates all of those problems. I like the safety factor of it too. read more

Pick up for tour was 45 minutes late. Driver John was good. The vehicle was not well maintained. As the site states, "it is subject to change". He needed to drop people off to Graceland. So at start of tour was not followed per schedule. We're given vouchers for Saturday. When at stop for 20 minutes, call to number listed. Person said we should have been notified of the route being cancelled due to a private party being given priority. We had tickets to Graceland and had to Call Lyft due to no transportation had paid $30.00 each for 2 tixs. Not worth it. Got better service with Holiday Inn shuttle! read more

My husband and I travel around quite a bit and always use the local hop on hop off bus tours. We have NEVER HAD A BAD EXPERIENCE UNTIL MEMPHIS!!! Do not use the local Memphis hop no matter what!!! We pre-purchased tickets for the next day along with several local museums etc... after carefully researching on their website that clearly advertises that the buses are at each stop every 15 minutes. We were downtown Memphis all day and did not find or see a single bus from this company!!! And no it was not on a day they were supposed to be closed, it was for Saturday 6/23/18 we paid 60.00 for no service and when contacted via email, phone and we actually drove to where the main office was supposed to be where we found 2 empty buses parked and no business office!!! Not only did they not provide the service we paid for, they clearly had false advertising, a general lack of concern and customer service and they keep sending me rating reviews to fill out which do with a complete explanation of my experience to no avail. So now I am putting this review out there for everyone to see and try to keep them from being cheated out of an expected service and their hard earned money!!! When we were out that day we saw several other companies happily and dutifully providing the expected services:please use these companies-blues city tours was one that was ever present and clearly taking great care of their customers. We ended up using the free sun city music shuttle and made all our stops except stax museum that was not on the tour route and I requested those tickets we had purchased with the hop on hop off be reach to Monday or Tuesday with no response do we lost another 30.00 there. All of our tickets were purchased through a website called viator btw-do beware using this site. And I will be reporting Memphis hop and viator to the better business bureau for preying on innocent tourists that come to Memphis and spend a lot of money locally there and these companies think it's ok to cheat them out of this money and not provide the service promised and expected when purchasing a ticket and then when you tell them the issue the only response I got was an auto response email telling me tough luck that I didn't cancel w/in 24 hrs! Well if I had any clue that they wouldn't have held up their end I would have NEVER ORDERED THE TICKETS MUCH LESS NEEDED TO REQUEST A REFUND FOR SERVICES PROMISED BUT NOT PROVIDED W/in 24 HOURS!!! Unbelievable to have a tour bus where you cant take pictures from the window. Thats exactly what you get for $30.00 Our driver Darryl was great, very knowledgeable, apologized for the broken air conditioner, he opened the tiny windows up top. But the main windows are covered and shut tight. Being able to get on and off at the few stops was a plus. But maybe I could've done that with another bus company as well. 2 stars for the driver, none for the bus. read more

Would love to say I had an amazing experience but too bad I can't. We paid for the riverboat cruise and were told to be at the appointed pick up spot at 1:45 as the bus arrives at 2. 2 came and went and finally at 2:30 the bus arrives and instead of going to the river the driver takes us to the main office in the opposite direction so some passengers can buy their tickets there. Why they couldn't purchase them from the same gentleman we purchased our tickets from is beyond me. Anyway we make our way back to the river in time to watch the riverboat sailing away. We are refunded our money and dropped off at our hotels. Too bad it's our last day in Memphis and we won't have another opportunity to take the riverboat tour. Ishmael, the gentleman who sold us our tickets was friendly and knowledgeable about the city. Other than that I would not recommend this company. We could have walked to the river on our own, cutting out the middle man. I suggest you do the same if visiting. read more

This tour is awful. Is not really a hop on hop off tour. It's just a van that will drive you to the main touristic places in memphis. But won't give you any touristic information. We took this "tour" with my friend while visiting menphis for a day. We payed the 20 dollars and we were expecting to hear some info/stories about memphis and hop off for pics and stuff. But we were very disappointed. They just drive you, you hop off at the place that you want and they pick you up 2 hrs later, then the same for like 3 times and that's it. Not worth the money/time at all. If you are thinking about taking this tour, better take public transportation and visit te places you want for as much time as you want. read more

My husband and I are anti tour people we like to explore ourselves. This was a fantastic way to get around to all of the attractions. Our drivers were will versed, funny and engaging. The bus was on time. What I love about this concept is that you get to tailor make your Memphis experience. We visited the sights when we wanted and had the comfort of having someone else do the driving. The best part was that our tickets were good for two days. When we come back to Memphis we are taking the Memphis Hop again read more

The drivers are nice and friendly. HOWEVER, the secretary operator over the phone is of no help whatsoever. Should not be working serving the public. Do not use this tour. They posted their hours as 9am-5pm and we waited 45 minutes before calling to see where they were. They sent someone to pick us up and took us to their welcome center. We waited another 45 minutes to start the tour. We were at the Graceland stop in time for the bus, but they showed up almost an hour late. They were so screwed up that the driver had to call to find out what stop he was supposed to go to next which took 30 minutes of back and forth phone calling. We wasted a 1/2 day with this very poorly run organization. Stay away. There are plenty of other choices. They need to hire a logistics person to help them get their act together.
