We were very satisfied with our tour.Sam is a very warm personality and gifted guide..One feels like they know the city and it's desire to keep improving while holding close the history of cotton, transportation of goods and tourism alive..Sam showed us the revitalization of the downtown and keeping the historical architecture accurate while reusing the interior spaces for condos and offices..we drove by the St.Judes Children's Hospital while Sam explained how there were three different hostels dedicated to the parents and patients of St.Judes with no bills being sent to the families..thanks to the generosity of Danny Thomas , his daughter..Marlo...a lot of their friends ..local businesses and countless donations from around the USA and world..So many interesting stories and buildings..The sadness that comes forth is in regards to the death of Martin Luther King ..due to assassination..Mr.King was in town for a dedication when shot in the neck while exiting his room 306 at the Lorraine Hotel..There are two relic era vehicles parked to represent those driven by Kings retinue..We would definitely recommend this tour and ask for Sam..Fabulous.

A great way to explore and learn all at the same time. Also it's great for families with people who can't walk a tour. This allows you to tour no matter your ability. The tour guide said she has done this in other states too I would travel to experience this in every state. What an excellent concept. I hope it goes further! I posted a few pictures you have to go in the tour to hear their stories.

The 'Queen' was our guide and she totally made this Memphis trip a memorable one. Even though I've been to Memphis a few times, I've never had someone provide depth to the city's history and culture that is out in the open but not really seen. Queen doesn't just spit knowledge-- she keeps everyone engaged throughout the tour. She also is a master at linking the past with the present, with an added emphasis on prompting action to shape future history. You have my word--take this tour at first opportunity and you won't be disappointed. It'll also be valuable for learning good food and tourist spots for after the tour. Hint: smoked turkey ribs...

I found Historical Haunts on Yelp and proceeded to check out their website hoping that a couple of spots are still available when we get in to town. They offer different types of tours. They have a walking tour, bus tour, a tour and haunting at one old house, a pub crawl which visits a few very old establishments. We luckily get in for their bus tour. It was perfect because there's scattered showers predicted and this is the best way to go around town without getting soaked. Our guide is very knowledgeable, and really played the part. She was even wearing a Victorian costume. If you are a history nerd and would like to hear some of those through this tours, this is definitely the best tours you'll find.

The bus took us all over town and we got out on three separate occasions to explore. My favorite part was Millionaire's Row, with beautiful historic homes that contain some juicy history. The van is comfortable and it was nice to get back in on a slightly chilly February evening. I imagine this would be great in the summer too when it is a little too hot outside for a walking tour. Easy and convenient meeting location at The Broom Closet (seriously check out the merch here- they've got some great finds!) Thank you to Matt and also the owners Stephen and Emily for a wonderful experience.

We weren't impressed…read more Don't waste your time with this company. I believe this tour company and Blues City Tours are one and the same. I searched online for a hop-on, hop-off city tour and came across this company. It was a July 4th Saturday. We arrived at the Welcome Center on time but we were also supposed to pick up other passengers at different stops. The route did not follow the schedule because we had to pick up passengers. The tour guide was hard to hear, either the microphone wasn't working well or the the bus needed servicing... it was competing with the tour guide as far as loudness. The following places were on the schedule: Ticket Booth/Hard Rock Cafe National Civil Rights Museum/Blues Hall of Fame Rock N' Soul Museum/BB King's Stax Museum Graceland Sun Studios Auto Zone Park/Peabody Hotel Bass Pro Shop (Pyramid) Welcome Center We saw 4 of the places listed above. We got off the bus in Graceland and spent quite some time there. The bus runs every hour and 20 mins but the bus came late, we could've stayed a little longer at Elvis' mansion. We thought we'd have to take Uber back in town. We could've done our own self-guided driving tour. It turned out there were only six of us who booked that day and one of the ladies with us was a tour bus guide herself in New Orleans! She too was disappointed with this company. Paid $63 ($30/per person + fees). Don't waste your $$. I was just glad to learn about The Lorraine Motel where Dr MLK Jr. was shot while standing on a balcony outside his second-floor room. We drove to the museum after the tour. Other than that I didn't learn much from the tour. I'm sorry to say but It was disorganized. Review #1876
