[1001] 9/2019 This is my first haunt tour so I was not sure what to expect. Our guide was very friendly and she had a ton of stories. The tour was eh. We rode around to a few places to hear about places that were haunted. I wish we would have gone inside of one. The guide has a meter to detect spirts but none came :( I don't think I would do another one.

It's a tradition for us to do at least one ghost/history tour whenever we visit any town. We love history and the spooky stories associated with it. I found Historical Haunts on Yelp and proceeded to check out their website hoping that a couple of spots are still available when we get in to town. They offer different types of tours. They have a walking tour, bus tour, a tour and haunting at one old house, a pub crawl which visits a few very old establishments. We luckily get in for their bus tour. It was perfect because there's scattered showers predicted and this is the best way to go around town without getting soaked. Our guide is very knowledgeable, and really played the part. She was even wearing a Victorian costume. If you are a history nerd and would like to hear some of those through this tours, this is definitely the best tours you'll find.

A group of my friends and I went on the Woodruff-Fontaine House tour and liked our tour guide so much and the tour itself that we signed up immediately for the Haunted Pub Crawl. Both events were fantastic and our tour guide,Taylor, was such a good historical guide. Not only was she well spoken and full of all kinds of wonderful historical knowledge about Memphis, she also kept the tours from being too downtrodden when they were about sad topics and she was hilarious about the funny subjects. I highly recommend her and Historical Haunts.

Love this tour! And you can go on it year round...so you can get your Halloween fix whenever you want! July...April...August, you name it! Perfect way to see downtown Memphis and hit up some of Memphis's finest pubs/restaurants. And since I am a bonafide Memphis history junky, this is right up my alley. So grab your friends, get some exercise, learn some history, drink some spirits (see what I did there), eat some burgers, and most importantly...have fun! Perfect for tourists or the local Memphian. Definitely makes for a fun date too!

We really enjoyed this tour. Very informative and such a nice alternative to walking around in the humid hot streets. Bus was nice and comfortable and air conditioned. Learned slot about the city and the stories along the way were extremely entertaining. My son had the Ghost Tracker app and had fun collecting information at each stop

Woodruff-Fontaine House 680 Adams Ave, Memphis, TN 38105…read more This area became known as the Victorian Village, and the main street through the neighborhood was nicknamed "Millionaires Row." Amos Woodruff and his brother came to Memphis from Rahway, New Jersey in 1845 to expand their carriage-making business. In 1870, Amos Woodruff purchased a plot of land for $12,000 and began construction on the mansion which would end up costing the Woodruffs $40,000 to build. Unfortunately, about 12 years later, the yellow fever epidemic forced the Woodruff family to sell the house.l Noland Fontaine purchased the house from the Woodruffs in 1883 for $40,000 and his family lived there until 1929. In 1930, the house was sold to Rosa Lee, who used the house to expand her art school, Lee Memorial Art Academy. The school moved to Overton Park in 1959, and established themselves as Memphis Art Academy, later becoming the Memphis College of Art. The Association for the Preservation of Tennessee Antiquities saved the house from demolition after 2 years of vacancy, restored the mansion, and then opened its doors as a historic house museum
