You can pay $1.00 a ride or $3.50 for all day and ride The main street trolley, the riverfront trolley, and the Madison Street trolley. It also includes riding buses all day. I rode the trolley for a fun thing to do and for sightseeing and it's a fun and cheap way to get around the city.

    I don't like trolls, they're trolley

The trouble with Trolls... is that they're just so... for lack of a better word... Troll-ey. Super cute little trolley that runs up and down Main Street in Memphis to some of the coolest little areas. You can get it from next to the Civil Rights Museum and it will take you by some great chicken and soul food places and some awesome desserts, so really this trolley is an excellent addition to the lovely little town of Memphis.

I always take out of town guests for a ride on the trolley. The loop route is the best way to go as you get a great view of the river and the city. I'm a lover of mass transit (in particular trolley, light rail and subway), so I consider the trolley one of Memphis' gems. I'd love for them to expand it so that it goes through Overton Square and through or near Cooper Young. Now that'd be great!

Your kids will absolutely love riding the vintage trolley line around downtown Memphis, and so will you. There are a few different lines- the Main Street trolley line that runs from the Pinch District to Central Station on South Main, the Madison Avenue line, and the Riverfront Loop. If you want some great views of the Mississippi River, hop on the Loop. The Main Street trolley line offers sightings of Court Square, The Orpheum, the National Civil Rights Museum, South Main Arts District and more. Grab a window seat, open up the window for some fresh air and enjoy the leisurely ride through downtown Memphis. It's a nice break from the fast pace most of us keep, and the whole family will enjoy it.

Main Street Trolley is quaint and fun transport to take in and get around downtown Memphis. It has several stops and takes you to the different landmarks within the downtown area, such as Beale St.Peabody, Hotel, and Convention Center. The Riverside Loop takes visitors to the TN welcome center, the river walk, and museum. At $1 per person, it isn't a bad deal. The trolley is old and antiquated so expect it to have delays due to breakdown at times. We had to change trolley half way through the ride since the one we were in stopped running and needed to be repaired. It was not a problem with us though since we were not in a hurry and were playing tourist for the day :) The inside of the trolley is made out of wood with seats that does not have any upholstery which adds to its charm. The feel of the trolley remind me of bygone era when trains were the primary mode of transport to get from point A to point B. The driver was okay but didn't really said much. The seats were conveniently heated but the one where we initially sat at was way too warm - the boiler (?) must have been located directly underneath that seat. The warmth was a welcome change from the cold weather outside. Schedule-wise, I am not sure as we didn't really look into it. We just hopped on the trolley at one of its many stops while browsing around the area.

We hopped on the trolley to fulfill the wishes of our 6-year-old and had no idea why we hadn't been using it during our whole trip. Everything was clean and relaxing. The driver was excellent! He was friendly, helpful and so interesting to talk to!

The Main Street trolley is a great asset to downtown Memphis. It has 35 stops along various areas downtown and the trolleys are vintage, authentic cars. I love to take the kids for trolley rides. They like to give the drive their coins and pick their seats by the windows. We usually pick it up on the Riverfront Loop and park at the Spaghetti Warehouse and ride it to Civic Central Plaza and play in the water in the summer. We like the River Front route because it has great views of the Mississippi River. They also have a Madison Ave route that takes you to Midtown and medical facilities. It runs every 10-12 minutes depending on the day and be sure to have change, it's easier if you have correct change. It's $1.00 per ride or $3.50 for a say pass. If you plan to get on and off them you need to pay for each ride. It's definitely a Memphis treasure and a fun way to spend an hour or two.

Short Trolly ride is convenient if you need a quicker rode downtown or around part of the city. It's faster and a lot more safer. If you like to ride alternative transportation, it's worth your time.

Trolley drivers can be rude at times. System would be great if the drivers and administration treated riders with respect.

First, map pointer is off. Location for Megabus Terminal is 3921 American Way, Memphis, TN 38105…read more At least that's where we caught the bus from Dallas, heading to VA. I do not see this info listed on the Megabus page either. My brother and I rode the Megabus (in June 2018) from Dallas, TX all the way to Richmond, VA, with a bus changes in Memphis, TN and Atlanta, GA. I'm going to share the same review with those Megabus Yelp business pages. Our trip took around 36 hours. First, the bad: WiFi did not work on ANY of the three buses we rode. It's time consuming. Our journey was 36 hours end to end. Cleanliness of bathroom deteriorates rapidly as the journey wears on. I considered it "For emergency use only." There is no running water. There might have been hand sanitizer. Now the good. Inexpensive. Nothing beat it. Not Greyhound. Not Amtrak. If you have more time than money, or just want an adventure, Megabus is OK. Buses were clean. Buses have a bathroom, but it's nothing more than a chemical toilet. It was an adventure. 110 volt A/C power outlets did work on all buses. Oh, and since it was summer, there were no airline deals either. The bus stops about every 2 hours for a break. It generally stopped at a truck stop, where you could use a restroom with running water, and get something to eat. Our bus change in Memphis was long. It gave us enough time to take an Uber to Beale St. It was also at night. Neighborhood was kinda sketchy, but there was indoor waiting area with vending machines and bathrooms. There's a gas station next door that serves hot food. Our bus change in Atlanta was shorter, but it was long enough to search out some breakfast within walking distance. It was morning for this stop. Neighborhood was OK. There was no indoor waiting area and I think there were restrooms if you went in the MARTA station (below). We arrived in Richmond at night and walked to our hotel. I did not seeing any waiting area, though it is close to the (Amtrak) train station, in the Main Street Station, so there might be something there. There are waiting rooms, but I don't know the hours. https://www.yelp.com/biz/main-street-station-richmond About the bus: It's a double-decker bus. If you are prone to motion sickness, there is less sway on the bottom, but try to get toward the front, as the bathroom is in the back. Upper seats have a better view, and the roof is transparent. During the day it was quite enjoyable. There are reserved seats, and if they are available, will cost you a little extra. We only had reserved seats on one bus. Not having a reservation was not a problem. There are some sections, up and down, where the seats face each other (with a small table in the middle). So if you are a party of 3 or 4, it would be good to reserve these seats. You might want to hedge your bet, and reserve seats opposite of each other. This way you'll play footsies with someone you know, not a stranger. It seems obvious now, but the reserved seats are the ones with BIG numbers on them. Once the bus is loaded, it seems OK to move into those seats, but you don't know if they are going to be reserved for the next leg of your journey. The bus does drop off and pick up along the way, though not necessarily at all stops. Some stops are just breaks to stretch your legs, and last 10 to 20 minutes. You might want to bring an extension cord, or have a long charging cable. Sometimes the power is overhead. Brings snacks and drinks, but not alcohol, as it's not allowed. We asked a couple drivers what would happen if you were caught. The answer varied a bit, but it seems likely you will be kicked off the bus. Where you are asked to leave seems to depend on your attitude. If you need anything during the trip, bring it with you when you go to your seat. You can't access your checked bags en route. Consider bringing ear buds or plugs, and eye shades. My conclusion: It was just too many hours. Man this trip dragged on. I would consider it for shorter trips, in fact I'd like to see more of Memphis. And them maybe take a riverboat to New Orleans, and Megabus back to DFW. Bottom line: Good adventure. No problems. No regrets.
