I work in the hearing healthcare industry and for many years I provided consultation to folks, primarily in Houston and Dallas, when it came to finding the right audiologist for their unique hearing loss and the goals they wished to receive out of such a lofty investment. I learned both markets like the back of my hand (each very different from the other) and built relationships with the best audiologists in both so that I could help patients find the best audiology care they could possibly receive. Dr. Elly Pourasef (Dr. Elly...or to me...just Elly), with respect to all of my other audiologist friends in town, is the second best audiologist I've ever worked with (just behind the legendary Dr. Kristin Wells in Phoenix, AZ), and that means a great deal, as I've worked with hundreds over time. She's the most talented audiologist I know, the most caring and empathetic audiologist I know, and most importantly, the best teacher that I know. ...because when you get hearing aids, you need, without a doubt, the best teacher in order to learn how to wear them and get used to the great change in life that you're about to experience. I don't know how she does it, but the first fitting of a hearing aid she provides is usually perfect, so people rarely have to go back two and three times for adjustments. She's incredibly efficient (for those patients who have time constraints). She's a really funny girl! She's deeply involved in local Houston charities and she gives a lot of time to the initiatives she feels passionate about (most recently animal rescue and adoption in the wake of Harvey). I think the best way to describe her is that she's simply a great friend. Everyone needs a friend in the automotive industry (see her husband, Ryan, for that). Everyone needs a friend in banking, HVAC and real estate. I don't know anything about those markets in Houston, though, or I'd tell you about them, too. What I do know, however, is that if you live in Houston and need hearing help, just go to Elly and get it done right the first time. I've written many, many words trying to describe an audiologist who's service, knowledge, talent and care simply defy them, so I'll stop now. I probably should have just written "I know Houston audiology and Elly is the best audiologist." read more

I could not recommend a better place to trust your hearing health too! Not only do all of the staff treat you as if you are the most important person to them, but they go above and beyond to help you! Last week I experienced a sudden hearing loss in my right ear. Couldn't hear a thing! After having tried some at home treatments with no change I reached out to Memorial Hearing, since it was after hours I left a message. Later I received a call and spoke with Dr. Elly P. when she called me (how long has it been since you've dealt with a Dr. that will contact a new patient after hours? ?) to schedule an emergency appointment for the next day (sudden loss of hearing is a major problem with only a short window of opportunity to reverse). When I came in the next morning for my appointment, I was treated as if I was the only person there and highly important! The admin staff are the absolute greatest, I could not think of a thing that they could do to make a patient feel any more special. Dr. Crystal W. administered the hearing test and was fabulous on answering any and all my questions and concerns. I was able to meet and make an appointment for a little later the same day to see an ENT for a treatment (she too could not have been any better). Scheduled a 2nd treatment in 3 days and then also a 2nd appointment for a follow-up hearing test to see if the treatments had any effect. I just had my follow-up appointment and between the great care received from all involved my hearing in my ear went from 0.00% on my 1st test to 88%! read more

Wow! I can't hear anymore!! (why that's a good thing) I went to see Dr. Elly at Memorial Hearing to have my hearing checked. Hearing is fine. Although, I do have a problem. My partner snores and it's keeping me up. We have tried everything; foam ear plugs, noise cancelling ear plugs, ear plugs with shooting muffs on top...nothing works. I'm going crazy! When I was speaking to Dr. Elly about this she suggested giving custom ear plugs a try. I was skeptical at first...what is so special about these custom ear plugs? Sounded like expensive hype to me. Wow!! Was I ever wrong. First off, these things are really comfortable. There is not twisting and squeezing to get them to fit right. I can sleep in any position, they are not obtrusive in any way. And most importantly, they work! It's like I'm a new person. I am sleeping better than ever!! Where have these things been all these years? Dr. Elly is awesome, I am so glad i went to see her. It's amazing how much my daily mood has changed after just one visit...sleep will do that. If I seem overly excited, it's because I'm writing this review after a couple of nights of REAL sleep. I am just so happy right now. Thank you Dr. Elly!! read more

Wow, what a wonderful experience at Memorial Hearing! The moment I stepped in I was greeted with beautiful smiles and warm welcomes. Dr. Crystal Wiggins really goes the extra mile to understand your needs and find the best solution. She was very thorough in her exam and it didn't take long for me to feel complete confidence in her assessments. I honestly did not know what to expect when I picked Memorial Hearing. In my research, I decided Widex hearing aids would suit my needs and Memorial Hearing was listed on Widex's website as a dealer. Dr. Wiggins is very knowledgable with Widex and confirmed I had made the right choice. I am very happy with my new hearing aids! I even got to meet the owner, Dr. Elly. Super nice, down-to-earth woman who genuinely loves her business and her customers. Her staff is the best! I was offered something to drink several times by the office manager! Very refreshing to see this level of service nowadays. The entire staff seemed happy to be there, so if customer service is important to you, this is the place! I cannot recommend Memorial Hearing enough. I cannot wait to return! I know this review sounds a bit over-the-top but, it's truly heartfelt. read more

I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Dr. Erika and the entire team at Memorial Hearing for the outstanding care I received during my Lenire tinnitus treatment. Dr. Erika was incredibly helpful, kind, and compassionate throughout the entire process. She genuinely cared about my wellbeing and supported me every step of the way during these 12 weeks. She always took the time to answer my questions, listen to my concerns, and encourage me throughout my treatment journey. Before starting the Lenire treatment, my tinnitus had a severe impact on my quality of life. I felt hopeless and struggled every day. Thanks to the treatment and Dr. Erika's guidance and support, my progress has been excellent. The improvement I have experienced has been life-changing, and l am so grateful for the results. I absolutely LOVE you guys. From the moment I walked into the office, I felt as if I were in the company of good friends, I was offered coffee from the well-appointed coffee bar while I waited to be seen. The wait time was not long enough for me to have been able to finish my coffee, had I had a cup. While I waited, I had the opportunity to observe the ladies behind the counter. Not only were they so nice to each other, but they treated each patient as if that person was the only person in the world that mattered. I was seen by Dr. Wiggins. As soon as we met, I knew I was in very good hands. Dr. Wiggins was amazingly nice and so very patient with me. After the actual testing was done, she explained everything to me. She made sure I understood the process. She asked often if I had any questions. I did. A lot of questions. Dr. Wiggins made me feel like she had no other appointments after me, though I'm certain she did. Memorial Hearing was recommended to me by a friend. I look forward to being able to recommend y'all to others. Thank you Memorial Hearing, and especially Dr. Wiggins for such a great experience. read more

My aunt has a profession that eventually can lead to hearing loss. She was starting to have issues hearing so we looked up doctors in the area we live in. We found Dr. Elly Pourasef of Memorial Hearing in Town and Country Way and the whole experience was a breath of fresh air. First off, I loved the location (literally next to City Centre) and lots of parking available. The receptionist was very lovely and the wait was less than 5 minutes. The doctor was so understanding and knowledgeable. She wasn't trying to push us out of the office in 2 minutes like other doctors. She actually listened to us and answered all of our questions with well thought out answers. The whole experience was very pleasant. I don't normally write reviews but I feel like nowadays it is so hard to find decent doctors, I had to share my experience to all the other people in the same boat as me and my family. I highly recommend this audiologist office for anyone wanting quality, honest service! read more

I've depended on my hearing, in my line of work, for over 25 years. I recently found myself in need of custom in ear monitors. In calling around town to find an audiologist to make molds of my ears, I ran across Memorial Hearing. Now, they are on the opposite side of town from where I live, but they answered the phone, they were friendly, clear on services and reasonable on pricing. As an extra bonus, they had an available spot within a week from calling. Their Covid protocol included hand washing, masks, dividers between patients and staff when appropriate. The day of the appointment, I arrived early to fill out the dreaded paperwork - a snap, and then off to see the doctor. She addressed any concerns I had, explained a few things about the anatomy of my ears and then got started on the molds. Ten minutes later and I was done. I highly recommend Memorial Hearing for your audiological needs. read more

I am an experienced hearing aid user and have now owned 5 pairs of hearing aids over the years. I have been a client of Memorial Hearing (MH) for a number of years. My experiences with both Dr. Elly and Dr. Hanna and the staff have been outstanding. As a backup to my MH supplied aids I decided to try one of the highly rated OTC aids earlier in 2022. There was just no comparison to the aids from MH, and I returned the OTC aids for a refund. My advice to new users is 1) have enough patience to become accustomed to hearing new sounds (some are unpleasant such as loud vehicles and some are nice such as hearing birds chirping for the first time in years) and 2) try not to be concerned so much about vanity (aids are no different from wearing glasses and the benefits are similar). All of the aids that MH represents are of the highest quality available. read more

Dr. Crystal Wiggins made my ear wax removal process simple, quick, and pain free! I first consulted with Memorial Hearing online and they quickly called me to make an appointment. At first, I was a little skeptical about the ear wax removal process because in past experiences, my ear cleanings have caused me pain and discomfort. However, Dr. Wiggins assured me that the process was quick and pain free. To my surprise, they used the "Eargator" machine which quickly and diligently removed ALL of the earwax that was stuck/attached to my eardrum and also caused problems with my hearing, sleep, and gave me headaches. I highly recommend Memorial Hearing and Dr. Wiggins's services to anyone who is having issues with earwax buildup. Lastly, all of the staff members at Memorial Hearing were friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. read more

I can't say enough about the care at Memorial Hearing. Dr. Elly Pourasef has built something special; professionalism, compassion, and a team that treats patients like family. Dr. Crystal Wiggins, who's been my audiologist the last few years, is patient and thoughtful and makes sure everything is working just right. And Kimberly White, along with the whole front office, makes every interaction feel warm and personal. It's rare to find a place where everyone makes you feel genuinely valued. Most recently, they helped me after I lost one of my hearing aids, thanks to my wonderful nine-month-old Shih Tzu who apparently thought it was a chew toy. What could have been very stressful was made so much easier by their quick action, kindness and guidance. Thank you. I am your patient for life. read more

I've had the best customer service a person could ever ask for with my hearing aid devices from Elly Pourasef at Memorial Hearing in Houston. She conducts professional hearing tests and only sells products that fit her customer's needs. This is not some mass market online or shopping mall-style store...instead, Elly provides dedicated and responsible service for every customer. I had a rare instance of an issue with one hearing aid after I had relocated far from Houston; I contacted Elly and she immediately provided new hearing aids as quickly as the provider could send them...in a matter of days, no questions asked and no cost. Outstanding service and top quality customer relationships are her key goals...she and her staff don't just "talk the talk", they totally "walk the walk"! read more

I recently moved to the Houston Area and had been to various audiologists in two other metropolitan cities. Dr. "Elly" was highly rated and I set up a visit. The experience was fantastic. Great location & office. She took her time in a complete hearing exam and assessment. My previous hearing aids were over 7 years old and losing resolution and lacked the latest technical improvements. Dr. Elly had a wide range of brands, functions and costs. I ended up with a better (i can hear better) set of hearing aids that I can tune on my phone to varying conditions - and they were 30% less than in inferior pair from 7 years ago. If you want improved hearing, at a competitive costs, with the latest technology, and with great service and continued support - consider Dr. Elly as the best. read more

I recently visited Memorial Hearing for the second time, and I can't say enough about how welcoming and friendly the entire staff was. Dr. Hannah went above and beyond to assist me with my ear issue. Her warmth and helpfulness made the experience truly outstanding. I highly recommend Memorial Hearing for their exceptional care and service. I'd also like to extend my heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Elly, the business manager at Memorial Hearing. Her professionalism and dedication to ensuring a smooth and pleasant experience for patients like me truly stood out. It's clear that the entire team at Memorial Hearing goes the extra mile to provide excellent care. Thank you, Dr. Elly, for your invaluable contributions to this exceptional healthcare facility. read more

After a few years of not completely participating in conversations and avoiding noisy public places, it was time to find a solution. My hearing aids were of little assistance. I booked an appointment with Dr Pourasef for a hearing check up as I was tired of asking people to repeat themselves. Dr. Pourasef's office is convenient to my home. I was impressed with her patience in explaining every test before she started. She tested my hearing more thoroughly than had been done in the past. Then, she explained my test results to my satisfaction. I found her personality engaging and was delighted with her professionalism. I absolutely recommend her without reservation. She's the best! read more

My daughter's ears were clogged, we went to the ER first, they couldn't or wouldn't help, just prescribed antibiotics and sent us on. My daughter found Memorial Hearing on Google and there were no appointments available, but bc it was an emergency, they squeezed us in. Omg let me tell you, from the front office to the back it's beautiful and the staff are beautiful. We were treated with extreme kindness from everyone. Dr. Wiggins used that machine and those ear wax turds pooped right out, my daughter could hear so much better. WOW I love this place I love the staff, I highly recommend. FYI, they don't take insurance, but it's worth the $170. read more

Dr. Wiggins is very professional. She is also quite knowledgeable as well. When It was time to upgrade form my outdated hearing aids Dr. Wiggins had several model recommendations for me based on the features and performance I required and helped me make an informed decision on which of them would be best suited for me. My fitting went super smoothly, she answered all the questions I had, and took the time to explain the different features and modes that she had programmed in to the new aids, as well as how and when to switch between them for optimal performance. I left feeling satisfied that I had made the right choice and know you will too. read more

Dr Elly is an excellent professional. He understand your needs, looks for options and really help you find the hearing aid the fits your needs. She is flexible, knows what is the latest technology. She has incredible skills navigating through administrative /insurance issues. Very efficient and straightforward. I am incredible happy with my hearing aid. Besides helping me to get an outstanding hearing aid, the cost was lower and better quality compared to other audiologist I visited first. I have had many surgeries (6+), only one ear. Done in two different countries, many audiologist tests. She is my number 1 by far. SHE IS THE BEST read more

There should be more than five stars for some and Doc Elly is one of these people. Doctor Elly is these best there is she took the time to accommodate our hectic schedule. She then spent quite some time making sure we understood the process, how the hearing aids worked and even tested my wife's hearing for us. Once I receive the hearing aid she was very thorough in explain how they worked and what I could expect and not expect from the unit. I had questions after I left and her response time was amazing even with her busy scheduled. As far as I am concerned I will never use another audiologist as Doctor Elly is the best there is. read more
