My father does not speak English well, so I"m not sure if there was a misunderstanding but why not accept there could have been and move on rather than harass an older man who doesn't speak English and doesn't hear well. I didn't realize this person's credentials until I was already in the waiting room. I was told to fill up the paperwork online to save time in the waiting room. I was glad I did. Because the website was not well explained and very illogical. I almost called them to forget about my appointment and went elsewhere. Everyone who came to this clinic had some sort of sinus problems because I heard them talk funny. One elderly man was grumbling about how difficult it was to fill up the new patient form on a tablet. I was glad I did it in private, because no one wants to hear me screaming. When I interacted with my doctor, she talked in jargon that I'm not familiar with. After I asked about it, she wrote the medical terms of my condition and medication I needed on a sticky note. She asked me to call back in a week for the summary of visit. The prescription is also over the counter. I asked her to send it to my pharmacy because I don't know which one to buy. Guess what? She didn't send it. I ended up getting the wrong thing. After I went to my usual clinic at VAMC, my PA told me that was not the right treatment. Yeah. I'm not coming back. Because I already made appointment to see another ENT specialist.

He is everything one could desire in a primary care physician. His availability allows for e-mail or text of a medical need, to which he responds, clarifies, and proceeds with sending prescription order or whatever is appropriate. Dr. Becker is actively and directly familiar with medical specialists and their competencies---not merely looking them up in a directory or online. He diagnosed my prostate cancer in 2003, and guided my choice of one of the most competent urologists in the Houston area. That same urologist treated the urologically related elements of my wife's cancer, and, in turn, directed her to one of the most competent gynecological oncologists in Houston. Dr. Becker has also served as primary care physician for one of my sisters and her husband, treating significant complexities with total satisfaction. In the last two months of my wife's life, Dr. Becker and HIS wife visited my wife during her final hospitalization, and thereafter they visited her twice in our home---not for medical treatment, but rather because they cared.

Then, I realized she is only an answering service, and if I wanted to schedule an appointment, I would have to wait 6 days until someone else returned to the office to call me to get my information (and who knows how long I'd have to wait to be seen after that). If the first person I spoke to is any indicator on how the rest of my experience will go, I will easily move on and find someone else.
