When meeting for our tasting, we went with the more extravagant 8 flavor option as my husband is a chocolate fan but I am not...this was well worth the price as we got 8 mini cakes to try which meant plenty to take home and enjoy over the weekend! Christina won us over with her flavors and enthusiasm, she provided some off the menu suggestions for mixing and matching sponge and fillings which was awesome. Ultimately, we settled on a mix of a traditional wedding cake (we were so pleased to get more than one flavor choice), along with a smaller gluten free cake and a number of sweet treats to appeal to a wide range of dietary restrictions and palates. When it came to design, Christina was very attentive to our inspiration photos/vision but also mindful of our budget as sugar past dahlias are not easy or inexpensive! When we discussed incorporating our dogs, she had a vendor lined up to make figurines and took care of the ordering process once we provided her some photos. Ultimately, she knocked it out of the park both with appearance and taste! I am hopeful that she waives her fee minimum in the event we want a one tier anniversary cake (-:

My only gripe is that I would LOVE to order that cake again to surprise my SIL with, but alas due to the order minimum I probably won't be able to make it happen. Totally understandable as Christina is rightfully thoroughly booked with bigger orders.

The Savory crepe was exceptionally good and unique with its crispy texture. The honey cake also definitely lived up to the hype. I give the cappuccino a 5/10 as it felt watery and was overall disappointing. The staff was efficient and friendly, but I noticed our server put down our plates onto the table rather aggressively, but I think it was unintentional. Overall would recommend as a decent bakery in the area!

Fast forward -- my cousins, bf and I came by this week and while we couldn't check out the bakery since they were already closed, we saw that the new addition of the European Market was opened! We saw a lot of European chocolates, chocolate liqueur, produce, bread, cookies etc and desserts! We wanted dessert and saw they have a few items! We got the date mini croissant pastries (literally finger food size!) and the dessert that looks like a cannoli but tastes like a cream puff....only BETTER! They were labeled specifically but they tasted so well with our tea at home! We loved these treats bc they were not too sweet at all! I didn't get a picture of these cute pastries but their cakes and desserts I pictured below are so cute and delicate! Definitely coming back! It's such a great addition here up north :)

They have pretty typical Korean bakery fare and pricing seems to be just a bit higher than competitors, probably somewhere around a 10% premium compared to similar family owned bakeries. On my visit I got two pastries to try: Soboro Cream ($3.49) - Instead of a delicately crackly cookie crust, this bun has a much softer, almost moist topping, which may be due to them placing the bread in the packaging before being fully cooled off, allowing the bun to steam too much. There's a bunch of sweetened stabilized cream inside that's sweet and oily. The bread itself is kind of dry and crumbly, either not a typical milk bread recipe or perhaps it had been sitting on the shelf for too long. (2/5) Corn Mochi ($5.99) - This comes with six pieces. The corn mochi has a nice chewy tapioca flour base. There's black sesame sprinkled throughout giving a burst of nutty flavor. I expected to see whole corn kernels baked inside but I think they just use corn flour in the dough. It's way less sweet than the soboro. Texturewise, the inside is bouncy while the outside has a harder baked crust. (4/5) Overall Le Bon Patisserie is a pretty average Asian grocery store-paired bakery. It's more of a place to buy bread for convenience rather than anything special, but it does the job decently well.

And…read moreyet I accidentally go back periodically because it's right inside the H Mart complex and because I have the memory span of a goldfish. I am always intensely disappointed with myself for not remembering how much it sucks, especially with 85 Degrees bakery just down the block. My latest foray led me to two loaves of milk bread for $11!!!! WTF? First of all, the two loaves look absolutely different... one is a square, and the other one is more like the milk bread shape. The lady behind the counter assured me they are the same. Spoiler alert: they are not, but they are equally awful. For those of you who knows REAL Japanese milk bread, it is like magic. I f***in' love milk bread... and while I don't use drugs, I imagine the euphoria I feel when I bite into milk bread is similar to a drug high. La Bon's milk bread is literally the worst white bread I have EVER tasted. It's worst than any grocery store brand and tastes like paper mache, wait, no.... I ate paper mache as a kid and this is far far worse. The pure and utter sadness I feel every time I put a piece of that shitty white cardboard into my mouth is worthy of a country western song. And everything else from that place tastes like cardboard. DO NOT GO. Or if you do, just be forewarned.... godspeed.

The staff was friendly. Unfortunately, the place feels cluttered with mix match tables, dirty station right next to cashier, and signages on the windows. I really did enjoy it but I just think there is a lot of potential to be had here. The portion is definitely big and is loaded with tons of fruit, mochi, and a scoop of ice cream. The kicker is that I found myself wishing that it was layered between the ice. If you don't mix it up well, you're pretty much left with only ice which also didn't have that creamy/milky flavor that's usually present in the other bingsus I've had. Overall, would love more condensed milk or flavor to the ice. The counter was being run but two younger people who were both really kind and quick to service the steady stream of customers. It's a pleasant place to hang out and I'm hoping to see what else they have to offer!
