Good chicken (steak/fish) cutlet sandwiches are hard to come by but this place does a great job. The cutlets are crispy and the variety of sandwiches are enough to please the masses. Additionally, they're really cool about letting you mix and match toppings btwn sandwiches. Sandwiches are massive so quantity is not an issue either although it does make for a sloppy sandwich, but no big deal. One small knock is that I thought the bread could have been slightly thicker and fresher. This is probably the only time I complain about the bread and it's only cause there was so much going on in the sandwich. Feeling pretty satisfied after eating from here.

I have to say this place totally exceeded my expectations. You order an entree and it comes with your choice of two sides for around $12-13 which is expensive for a truck but you get a ton of food. The oven fried pork chop is really baked not fried so don't expect a breaded chop. Instead you get a large bone in lean chop with tasty seasoning and they manage to cook it just right so it isn't too dry. The collard green sides and peach cobbler are both amazing as well. The citrus iced tea is worth a try as well. I think they change the menu every week so I'll be back to try some other items. Glad I tried this place and I'll be sure to get it again.

Enh...I suck at rhymes. On to the food! The Dude was parked near my office and I just had to pay him a visit on this bright sunny Tuesday. I jumped into my sleek high end vehicle (a banged up 1999 old car) and raced as fast as I could to the Dude's location....as fast as you can go without having the wheels of a poo poo ride pop off. Less than five minutes after leaving my office, I spotted the Dude's truck. The truck was huuuuuuuuge and had the same cheerful surfing chef logo that is on his website. On the recommendation of a friend, I embarked on this trip to: 1) Check out Doug's food and the highly recommended steak fajita egg rolls. 2) Snatch up the first to review (FTR) for this business. Wa-hoo! After scanning the lunch menu, all thoughts of a steak fajita egg roll left my mind as the Parmesan crusted Salmon wrap caught my eye. Oh decisions, decisions. What to do? Well I did what any self respecting fat boy would do; I ordered both. Here are my thoughts: - Parmesan Crusted Salmon Wrap ($8): Holy crap this was good! The Parmesan crust wasn't that powdered Kraft Parmesan you get at the local grocery store. No my friends, the Parmesan was the real deal. Each bite of the Salmon had that tasty melted Parmesan flavor which was enhanced by the fresh (Romain?) lettuce, raw onion slices and a delicious chipotle sauce. Everything was held together by a flour tortilla which helped me expedite the process of shoving my face full of tasty Salmon goodness. 5 stars for this refreshing wrap. - Fajita Steak Egg Rolls ($9): The fajita steak egg rolls (which are baked, not fried) were served on top of a generous serving of white (cabana) rice mixed with small pieces of red bell pepper. The rice itself had a mild 'n tasty spicing that was a perfect "blank" canvas/bed for a more flavorful entree. The egg rolls themselves were okay, and a bit disappointing compared to the Parmesan Crusted Salmon Wrap. The egg rolls appeared to be big, but had a thick flaky too doughy exterior leaving little room for the filling. The actual filling of steak fajita meat was deliciously spiced and well flavored. The entire dish came with a very very good pico-de-gallo like salsa which added flavor to the rice and complimented the steak flavor quite well. 3 stars for this dish. While I waited for my meal, I talked to the Dude (Doug Maheu) who was a very personable and nice gentleman dressed in a bright red Hawaiian like shirt. I could tell he was proud of his food truck and happily talked about what separates his food from the other food trucks. He was such a nice guy, you can't help but wish him and food truck the best of luck and a very long & prosperous career. Based on today's meal, I am definitely going to make a return visit to the Dude's truck as I had my eye on the Chipotle Chicken wrap. Oh yes, that wrap will be MINE! :-) The most important thing you need to know about Doug the Food Dude which separates him from other food trucks: The Dude accepts both Visa and Mastercard!! Oh yeah, you can also follow him on twitter @ dougthefooddude (http://twitter.com/dougthefooddude) to see where he'll be parked that day. Boo-ya! Way to go Dude!! :-)

So I was happily surprised by the empanadas at Empanadas De Mendoza. I orders their 3 empanadas and side combo which included a traditional beef, pineapple chicken, bbq pork, and French fries. My only complaint was that the empanadas are a little small and a bit pricey, but I get it - we're in a recession. Overall it was a great meal and I look forward to trying their food again.

SCORE! I said although I've never had them, didn't even peek at them on Yelp :: GASP:: and have been spoiled by authentic empanadas growing up in the NYC area that I would still give them a shot bc I totally needed to eat some stress away and empanadas sounded like the perfect escape to do so. The line was fairly long for the truck but they had it running like a well oiled machine and the guy taking orders was super friendly which made waiting in the cold and dark totally worth it . I went with the 3 empanadas + a side so that I could totally truly give them a fair shot and see what they were working with. I opted for the Spicy Beef, Honey BBQ Pork and the 3 Cheese empanadas + the Chimichurri Fries as a side. OOOOOOOOOMMMGGGGGGGGGG!!!!!!! Every morsel of these empanadas, those damn fries and the side dipping sauces were OUT OF THIS WORLD!!!!! I literally devoured everything all by myself in under 15 minutes....and I am PROUD ! This place is legit and their flavors are magical! The spicy beef was spicy, the 3 cheeses were cheesy, the honey bbq was perfectly pulled pork like and those fries with the sauces were restaurant week worthy! I can't wait to try the other empanadas on their next go round and must say that my entire week is all better because of Empanadas De Mendoza

My co-workers and I tried the bratwurst and currywurst with mixed reviews. The brat was good, as was the currywurst however one complaint was that it was not saucy enough. One person did not like the red cabbage, but the sauerkraut and potato salad both got high marks. One thing we all agreed on: the kaiser roll was pretty dry and not really edible unless you gave it a good pre-soak first. Again, this is where some extra sauce on the currywurst would have come in handy. The guy running the truck was super nice and greeted me with a friendly heckle when I took his picture "without permission." $9 is about average for lunch in this area and I enjoyed trying something different.

Both times, the food was just okay. It definitely looks better than it tastes. This time, I got the Lobster Tacos and the Lobster Tots. I tasted no actual seasoning or butter flavor on the Lobster meat. I don't think I'd get anything else from this food truck again. Not worth the price. Overall, I give them a 6.5 out of 10.
