I hate leaving negative reviews for small businesses ( especially those owned by WOC) , but this…read morewas a very negative experience. We saw this place on social media and my mom surprised me with a candle making session for my birthday! A day prior , the owner tried to move the reservation from 1 pm to 10 am, which we were unable to do due to dinner reservations. We arrived right on time, but had to wait around 15 minutes for another woman to join our session. There was tea and coffee on the side, but it was never offered to us. For a small business, the owner was not very friendly nor welcoming. We enjoyed the first part of the class, which involved blindly smelling 24 scents and trying to identify them. The selection of candle jars was very limited with basic colors available. As we poured our candles, the owner was very clearly doing side work in the other room. When the other woman asked a question about the process, the owner was clearly impatient with her response which made all attendees uncomfortable and the session continued with awkward silence. After we poured, she let us know the candle would need roughly an hour to set. We had planned on going for a coffee and coming back, but she said that she was leaving for the day and for an ADDITIONAL seven dollars per candle, she would ship them or we could pick up in person- but there are NO SET HOURS. We figured we would pick them up, but arranging a time was difficult. In the end , we got them shipped. This definitely took away the excitement of having a candle. Upon receiving the candle, it is incredibly low quality. The wick does not burn well, nor is the scent strong. With that being said, I am familiar with natural candles and I expect that the scent will not be as strong as a synthetic one, but I'm talking ZERO scent. A guest came over and had no clue a candle was burning. For the price of this experience, the owner should make an effort to make the experience fun and welcoming and provide quality materials to make better candies. We are disappointed to say the least.

It's so hard to figure out what to do with my mom each year and this was special and unique and even a bonding experience. Today in honor is Mother's Day, Saint Sage Candle Bar hosted their first ever private event. I found out about this via social media. I thought this would be the perfect way to spend Mother's Day with my mom because we both like candles--so why not learn how to make our own together!!!!?? I believe the owners name is Kat. She opened Saint sage I believe sometime in April 2023. Trust me! This is such a unique and fun experience, you have to try it. I'll definitely be back. I had such a great time. The Mother's Day event was about $120-130 for both my mom and I, this included supplies to make our own candles as well was light snacks like charcuterie & mimosas. Kat was really nice and a great teacher. She made it really easy to follow the steps to create our candles and the store is just super cute too. You get to choose your own scents and vessel to create your candle in. We even got to put some floral, glitter and crystals in the candle as well. My candle came out LOVELY! I'm obsessed. I mixed Black Opium, White Sage, and Lavender Honey. My mom enjoyed herself as well. I believe she used mostly musk scents.

I absolutely love my signature scent and would 100% recommend this experience for a girls' day, birthday, celebration, or just something fun and different to do together. We had the best time!
