Beautiful birthday flowers ... delivered a day late. When my relatives asked if I liked the…read moreflowers, I had to reply, "What flowers?" Delivery had been promised so it meant a hassle for relatives living 1,800 miles away. Jory's is closed on Mondays. Maybe that was the hang-up, but delivery had been promised. When they finally arrived, I was greeted with a "Sorry." The flowers were beautiful and so was the amber tone mosaic vase. (I am still enjoying the vase now filled with some dried fall flowers.) But here is where things get a bit strange. When I was rinsing out the vase, I noticed two stickers on the bottom. One said Mervyn's $39.99 and the other said Goodwill $8.99. Mervyn's closed many years ago so today's retail value of the vase would be much more. Who knows how it ended up at Goodwill and then made its way to Jory's. I don't have an issue with recycling from thrift stores. I do it myself. What was very odd to me was Jory's did not take a minute or two to remove the stickers. Very tacky. This would have been a five-star review if the flowers had arrived on time and in a vase that did not show its thrift store origins.

Very quiet place that I actually thought was closed at 11:30 on a Friday. Slightly small but they…read moredon't have a location in San Francisco, so this was my next best option. The staff was friendly and they even were able to find some items that seemed to be not on the selling floor.

I was really disappointed with my experience at this location. When I first approached the…read moreregister, the staff were friendly and welcoming. However, as soon as I entered my boyfriend's phone number and was told I wasn't a member, the tone completely changed. Instead of asking if I wanted to sign up, I was immediately asked for my email. I explained that I'm not from here and wasn't comfortable giving one. I was then asked if I had a friend's email, which also felt uncomfortable. When I declined, both cashiers looked at each other in an annoyed way, and from that moment on, the friendliness was gone. I understand that employees are encouraged to sign customers up for rewards programs -- I truly do -- but customer service should not depend on whether someone agrees to marketing. The sudden shift in attitude made me feel unwelcome and pressured, which is not how a shopping experience should feel. That said, I do want to acknowledge Jesebel, the associate by the front door. She did a great job promoting products, offering helpful suggestions, and was genuinely warm and engaging. Her customer service was excellent and made the beginning of my visit enjoyable. I love Bath & Body Works products, but this experience at checkout left a bad impression. Customers should be treated with the same respect and kindness whether they sign up for a membership or not.

I have been here TWICE in the past 3 weeks, the second time this morning, and both times the staff…read morewas somewhat indifferent and didn't really care. This morning I needed help finding Brown-eyed Susans or another tall growing daisy, and I was directed to Jerry, who was supposedly helping another customer, chatting away as if they were the only two people in the entire world. I had a friend in the car waiting for me who had medical issues, and after waiting to get help from Jerry for 10-15 minutes I went back in and told the people at the registers that the lack of help there was unacceptable. Several people were at the registers and nobody was checking out. Why one of them couldn't have helped was beyond me. One walked over to Jerry and asked him to help me since my question was quick, not landscaping a whole yard, and Jerry sighed and said what I wanted wasn't in stock. I asked him what daisies grew to be between 2-3 feet tall and wide, and he finally helped me find a yellow one. 30 minutes in the store for what should have been a ten minute errand. The rest of the staff said they "didn't know" anything about daisies. WHY A NURSERY HIRES PEOPLE WHO KNOW NOTHING ABOUT BASIC PLANTS IS BEYOND ME. When this was Navlet's you could get help easily, but now, as Sloat's, the ability to get real help is almost slim to none unless you have ALL DAY to wait around while they dilly dally and play dumb.
