Ample parking outside of the facility and it offers a very family friendly environment and also a great place for just friends or a date night. For the second year in a row, my son wanted to have a bowling birthday party. Of course, I set it up at Mel's again. From the variety of packages to the excellent customer service, it just makes it easy. From the moment we arrived, the entire staff made sure we had everything we needed. Madi, the events manager, stayed on top of everything and ensured that the food and drinks were replenished and was in constant communication with me to see if there was anything else we needed. The food came out hot, was presented nicely buffet style and was so tasty. It was easy for all the kids and parents to enjoy themselves as we didn't have to concern ourselves with anything. The management is terrible and has consistently made bad choices for years. The only reason Mel's is still in business after the founders sold to Bowlero is that there are no other good bowling centers in the area. Here's the latest frustration: management scheduled a party during league play and kicked the league bowlers out. When we went out of our way to bowl on a different night, they did it again and then harassed us to hurry up and finish before the party starts. I wish there was another center in the area because these people hate bowlers read more

My wife and I bought a summer pass and it has been great. However we have found that lanes 29 and 30 have given us problems several times. What's sad is that today they switched us from one to the other and both lanes failed. Talk about ruining a game. We just packed and left. However what surprised me is the response of three people behind the counter. After I expressed my frustration and said we were leaving, there wasn't any real effort to keep me bowling there. Stay away from lanes 29 and 30. read more

Thank you to Mel's and the wonderful crew who hosted our team building event! My team had a wonderful time. From start to finish, everyone introduced themselves and made sure our group had everything we needed while we were there. They do not control room temp. It is like a refrigerator year round in the lounge. I do not recommend this place. High prices and very cold. We got there for karaoke and 1/2 hour before it started, they cancelked to watch the football game. I will not go back. They lost a steady cusromer for a 1 time event. read more

I've bowled many tournaments here pre- Bowlero takeover. Usually a solid house with a decent shot. And a great pro at the pro shop. Service always good. Fast forward to post-Bowlero takeover, and i personally won't be back. We paid $300+ to reserve 2 lanes with nationals patterns. Yes, it's a Saturday and yes kids will be here. No issue there. What I do have a major issue with is a manager who literally doesn't give a crap if a little kid or an adult gets hurt, and his only solution to that after practically threatening to sue if someone DID get hurt was to make us pay for a third lane. I'm the one who also had to tell him to talk to the parents about safety. Kids are kids and don't know any better. Parents just trying to help them. But when they camp between lanes next to the ramp, that's a tripping hazard. And when kids wander into the next approach when someone is bowling, they will either get hit with a back swing or someone is going to trip. Consider training your manager or getting a new one. read more

This place is a bummer! We used to love coming here, food was pretty good for a bowling alley, service was great and it felt friendly and warm. Since being bought out by Bowlero, this place has no HEART. We were ignored by numerous employees for hours, had to go searching for help to get a drink or snack. They weren't busy at all and it was a Friday night...place used to be so packed there was no guarantee you'd even get a lane. Now? Not surprising it's empty. We will never be back. read more

I took my 3 teenage kids to bowl this evening at Mel's LoneStar Lanes in Georgetown, TX. Our first time there and I have to say I am shocked and disappointed. Shocked by the price @ $155.00 for 3 rounds PLUS $6.OO for a small lemonade! The old people next to us were rude and hostile; acted as if we had no right to be next to them and they had something to prove, told us we can't throw until they went and threw their bowls first?! They made us feel uncomfortable and intimidated so I asked for another lane instead of engaging with them. We decided to just focus on having a good time, but after all that; paying so much money, I don't think we'll go back. A very alarming experience. We were not offered any consolation for any of the inconvenience and unpleasantness of our entire experience. Very disappointed overall. read more

Service is good if they actually stop to serve you. Food is average to below average, but at least they have beer.

The question is what could improve. Everything! First we were told that after 5 there would be no lanes to bowl on because they would all be taken up by league bowling so we would have to leave. No bar service - the "I've been here 13 years" guy told us the bartender was working the arcade and only two of them were there. When we had specifically asked for the bar, we were not told it was full of kids. The $5.99 a game was not offered; instead we were charged $18.99 and given some arcade cards. Why would I want arcade cards? Last frame of last game froze - pushed help button. No one came. I loved Mel's and always had great experiences personally and with league bowling. This is the very antithesis of a bowling alley, especially on a Friday night. It's clean and it's well lit. Most importantly, it made for a great date night with my date and her young son. It wasn't so loud that we couldn't talk. We all had fun. And they're great about kids -- not only did they have bumpers to put up, a staff member also brought by a ramp to make things easier. The staff is first rate with bringing drinks, being friendly, being quick, and taking care of every request we had. This is definitely a go to for family friendly fun. read more

I haven't been here in years. It's a classic place to go bowling. Yet, I don't know if it was a bad day for the place. Short staffed, maybe? There was a lot of confusion and a lot of waiting. We waited 10 minutes over a lane issue when there were a lot of empty lanes. They placed up next to a crowded birthday party where little ones kept getting in our way. The place needs better organization. We were told left and right how to order food. Very confusing. Our only two orders of food were wrong. It's a cool place but in the end not worth the frustration of poor service and lack of organization skill. read more

League bowler here. Lanes constantly have issues returning balls. Mine got stuck and returned with a large chip and cracked all the way around. The ball is older but never been stored in extreme temps. For a business that just got bought out you'd think management would care more... no credit for another used ball. Get new staff in my opinion. PS: figure out league discounts, we've been waiting for 4 weeks to get our card so we can use what we paid for. read more

Do not waste your time or money. We only ordered drinks and an hour later they still didn't arrive. 2 pitchers of Dr P costs $35 and the pitcher is full of ice. We were there for 2.5 hours and only bowled 2 games because the lane wasn't working correctly. Then to top it all off we go to pay and find out the few drinks and lanes came out to $350!!! Used to come here often. Not so much anymore as it is twice the price it used to be. You have to stand in line twice....once to get a lane and the second to check out and pay. Not necessary andI a total waste of time especially when it's busy. Definitely have more training to do, but the staff seems nice enough. Two stars because that past couple times we've been since it switched over to bowlero we had virtually no lane issues. Huge disappointment. Mel's is no longer the family owned gem we knew and loved. Although they haven't changed the signs, it is now owned by the chain Bowlero. I hardly know where to start. Customer service is horrible--if you can find an employee. Expect eye rolls and attitude. There is no lane food service--leave your overly expensive game to stand in line for food and drinks. I waited a ridiculously long time to check out (we stayed for one game so we could still pay our mortgage), but the two check in/out attendants left with a long line in front of them to spray and wipe down lane tables. The company changed hands around a year ago and the only remodel to the new brand is spilled paint, blue tape everywhere and...nothing else. Unacceptable. We won't be back. What a shame. read more

Two words that come to mind when I visited this place tonight were S**t..show...I've come here plenty of times it's always been affordable and pretty good service. My visits tonight was very different and safe to say I will not be back. Tonight I went in with my significant other, and as we walked in the remodel looked nice and we were excited. We went ahead and got one lane and two shoes, we had 4 others with us but they shared a separate lane. We played one game as our other friends on the lane next went to order beers. we finished an entire game before they took our friends order at the bar. It took 25 minutes to get 2 draft beers. We play one more game as a couple and head to the counter. The guy looks at us and says "77$ today"...jaw to the floor I asked "how is that?" This man looks at us and tells us "I saw that it was just two of y'all on the lane but you entered in 4 players by accident". We reply "well our other friends didn't end up coming, it was just the two of us". This man doesn't bat and eye and hands over the receipt. So this man saw what happened and continued to charge us for two other ghost players game. If you think the local bowling alley is the right place for simple cheap fun, please run before you pay 120$ for a hour of bowling and warm beer. read more

I'm in a senior bowling league at Bowlero in Georgetown. Yesterday they canceled our league day because they booked someone else in our spot, for more money. My problem with it is we have already paid for that time, that is a breach of contract! Second, they didn't inform anyone until we drove to the bowling alley. Some people on my team drive 45 minutes one way to bowl. I've bowled at Mel's for 8+ years but I don't think I want to continue giving them my money if they can decide to cancel my league day because someone else is willing to pay a little more. This is a terrible business practice. read more

We used to enjoy coming here....when we could actually get a lane. On the weekends they seem to care more about the leagues then they do the regular patrons. Here's a thought, why don't you guys open extra early for league play or make them come in the last few hours of being open? And not on the damn weekends ALL DAY when families come!!! This is ridiculous that this place only seems to care about league business and not regular groups. And if that is the only groups you like to cater to then you need to advertise that. New ownership, what once was a family favorite, has become way overpriced and not affordable.

Great place to bowl. Its clean, the food is great and the service is on point. Perfect place for a good time.

After trying to figure out birthday plans for my 11 year old son (between dave and busters, main event, sandbox vr) we landed on mel's because our son could spend 2.5 hours there with his friends bowling, while also having ample food (that was really good, highly recommend the chicken strips), drinks, a fresh baked cookie cake (with a really cool firework effect candle), arcade time with prizes, and it was all handled by a single point of contact (khristina) when we arrived which made it seamless. Super easy to book online, there is an additional "event fee" to be aware of so you're not caught off guard if booking in a hurry like me, but it came out to about an additional $10 per child. My only feedback was a better disclosure of the fee. Other than that Mel's went above and beyond to make my son's party epic and we'll be back. Thanks also to Angel (our server who was amazing) and to Elmie the event manager for her help following up after the experience to make sure it was a good one. Great job guys! read more

Our three Summer Program classes all went to Mel's for field trips this summer. The experience was top notch! We booked the party package for the students and we were not disappointed! The food was great, the kids had a fantastic time bowling and playing at the arcade, and the staff is amazing! All of the employees were so kind and attentive to the children (especially Madi!). Not our first time to Mel's. Prices were reasonable before the new company took over. $40 For 1 game for 2 people! Took us 15 mins to bowl 10 frames. Crazy! Next time we'll be driving out to Pflugerville. Poor girl checking people in had you deal with a guy in front of us upset regarding the new prices. read more
