I can't say enough about Manuel's mastery in removing dents and scrapes on metal panels of vehicles. He came to assess my aluminum, plastic, and rubber based car that we purchased with a huge loan 7 years ago. It was so depressing to see so many mean people leave dings and scrapes on my car. After 7 years, I finally had some down town and decided to give Mel a try with all those great reviews. I wondered, "were they bought or are they real customers?" He took about 10-15 mins to go over the cars with so many dings/scrapes and explained to me what is feasible (only on metal mostly) and what can be done by others (plastic and rubber), and then he told me the exact price of each area so I can decide depending on my budget. He was very thorough at explaining what he would do and gave me a very fair price. I must admit I didn't have my hopes up high.. how can he repair so many little dings and scrapes to look like new? But he not only did that, but he did it so quickly, it was unbelieveable. In about 30 mins, he took out all the dings on one door and removed the scrapes. No paint was needed. Another door larger ding was fixed in another 15 mins. He somehow goes through the window opening. Then he worked on my trunk hatchback door that had severe dents on the edge and removed those also. He did this for $300 and then to help me out, he also buffed out a scrape in the front trunk and in the back Falcon wing panel where I had black scuff marks for over 18 months that I couldn't remove with soap and water. He even removed an ugly yr + old partially left sticker from the sad loss of the Biden/Harris campaign! I could not be happier and when I can afford it, I plan to fix that dent in the falcon door next year. He is also such a gentleman and interesting to converse with... I will recommend him to everyone I know who has dings in their car.. and who doesn't? I saw his website after he did my car and I realized he also does huge dents also. I have nothing but wonderful things to say about Mel and his dent removal service. Someone hit my car a few weeks ago. I got a quote for the dent to be removed without insurance being involved. I had Mel out a few months ago to remove some dents and a crease in my tailgate. The crease in my tailgate was from it falling down off of the safety chains while driving and looked pretty bad, especially with a shiny dark blue paint. I really had my doubts that this crease would be able to be removed without a body shop having to refinish the whole tailgate for a fortune. Brought my 4runner to Mel yesterday with little hope he'd be able to repair the nasty ding on my door. Ding was tiny in circumference (about a dime) but deep. The wife hit a table (it was in Berkeley so not so weird) a few days ago and had 2 big crease like dents. I opted to try PDR vs a body shop to save $. I looked on yelp and found Mel. It was one of those days where I lack sleep and was rushing home to be with the kids. I drove my Porsche Boxster into the garage a little too much to the side and ended up side-swiping the wooden bookcase parked near the driver side. Result was around a 3 inch vertical dent over the the front wheel well and some paint scratches right at the edge. Ouch! It's bad already to have other driver dent your car, and worse that you yourself caused the dent! I've never worked with a PDR service before, and was intrigued by the concept while researching how to fix my dent. I contacted two initial PDR pros (whose names will not be mentioned) with many high reviewers around east bay region, even more than what Mel's currently have at the time of this review. Both asked me to send over close up pics and came out to physically inspect the damage I've done. Surprisingly, I thought my dent wasn't even as bad as some of the dent pics that others posted on yelp, but both of these initial PDR folks declined to help me out. The reasons being that my paint has been broken and that the dent was too near the edge of the wheel well. They recommended body shops as my solution. Almost giving up PDR and going with the traditional body shop solution, I read the reviews Mel received and decided to give him a call late last week as a last attempt. Mel was very patient to listen to what happened and what I've been through at this point. He answered the questions and concerns I had, and made sure that expectations were set both my side and his. He also asked for the pics of the dent, and I was delighted to hear back within a couple of hours that he can do it! His quote provided with this response was competitive to what I was quoted from the other two PDR companies too. Mel again reiterated and discussed with me to ensure I am fine with the expectation that the dent will pretty much be removed, but the paint scratches won't be solved. I am fine with this as the dent is the part that bugged me the most. The paint scratch is seriously barely noticeable. Mel and I met this morning in Walnut Creek at our mutually agreeable time. Within an hour time, he was able to massage and work his magic on the dent, and by the time he's done, I can barely even tell I had a dent there initially! Wow! Amazing! After shaking hands with Mel and thanking him for making my day, I drove home happily feeling whole again with my baby toy car. After some quick application of polish, a layer of liquid wax, and a couple of strokes from the touch up paint from Porsche (I'm not so good at putting the paint on, but who gives), you can barely tell the accident I caused unless you know to look specifically for my amateur touch up paint. Job well done by Mel! I would definitely use him again in the future and recommend him to others. I got into great conversation with him about his personal life, PDR, and other topics while he service my car. I sensed he is passionate about what he does for a living, makes sure he does his best for every customer, and someone who I can trust.
