Service is always amazing here! I've had 3 different nail techs that have worked on my nails and not one has disappointed. Cody, Michelle, and Luis are all so good at what they do. The prices here are super affordable, the facility is clean, the customer service is top notch, and they also work with you on scheduling or even last minute appointments! They have a reward system that they also offer to where you get $25 off after so many visits. A win win read more

I've been going to Melody Nails UTSA location for years, but unfortunately, the service and quality seem to have declined. The techs used to be very attentive--you were always greeted, offered a refreshment, and the service never felt rushed. There was much more attention to detail, including lotion, oils, and a hand massage after a manicure. Lately, even a greeting seems hit or miss, appointments feel rushed, and those little touches that once made the experience stand out are no longer there. More importantly, the quality has become an issue. I came in on Wednesday for a gel manicure with chrome, and by Friday the chrome was already coming off. That's definitely not what I would expect from a $60+ gel manicure. I was assigned to a young technician I hadn't seen before, so perhaps he is new and could benefit from some additional training. I've had chrome manicures many times before and have never had this happen, so it seems pretty clear that the chrome powder was not applied or sealed properly. After my appointment, I received a survey and shared that I was dissatisfied with the service. I received an automated message saying someone would be reaching out to me soon, but several days have passed and I haven't heard from anyone, which is ultimately why I'm leaving this review. It's disappointing because I've been a longtime customer and know the level of service and quality this salon used to provide. I really hope they take the feedback seriously and get back to that standard. read more

Made an appointment at 3:30. Still had to wait 1 hour. I left before I got attended. Not sure how much longer I'd have to wait.

5 Stars - Always a Great Experience! I come here on and off, and every time I leave really happy with my nails. The staff is super nice, professional, and always pays attention to detail. I just got a daisy-inspired pedi with little pink rhinestones and it turned out so cute! It's always busy -- and obviously for a reason. The service and quality are consistently great. The salon is clean, relaxing, and they even offer complimentary drinks Also, this is the only nail salon that I trust to wax my eyebrows -- they always do an amazing job! And being right by UTSA makes it super convenient. Definitely recommend for cute nails, perfect brows, and an all-around great experience read more

I've been coming here for about four years, but unfortunately I won't be returning. The quality of work is actually great, most of the nail techs are very talented and can execute almost any design you ask for. However, the service and overall experience have been consistently disappointing. Many of the staff come across as rushed, unfriendly, and not very transparent about pricing. This salon is also on the pricier side for the area, which I don't mind paying when both the service and experience match the cost, but here, that hasn't been the case. My most recent visit was what made me decide I won't be coming back. I came in for both a manicure and pedicure. My manicure was done well, but the pedicure experience with a different technician was honestly the worst I've had. She was rude, passive-aggressive, and made me feel uncomfortable the entire time. It felt like she didn't want to be there, and it showed in how she treated me. By the end, I just wanted to leave. I didn't even wait for my toes to fully dry because of how unpleasant the experience was. To make things more frustrating, I was initially charged incorrectly, only for the pedicure. When she realized I had also gotten a manicure, she stopped me and added it as a separate transaction. I chose not to tip her due to her behavior, but I did tip the technician who did my manicure. She gave me a noticeable dirty look afterward, which only reinforced my experience. I understand everyone has off days, but this level of service is unacceptable, especially at these prices. After four years, it's disappointing to walk away, but customer service matters just as much as the final result. Please don't hire people who don't enjoy their job. read more

Update: I went back and they fixed my nails for free. A girl named Rayce fixed them and she was really nice and helpful. I will definitely be going back:) Update: I went in to get a simple manicure with a neutral color and the guy that did my nails didn't paint it all the way down to the cuticle so it looked like my nails had already been growing for a few days. I hate when nail salons do that. read more

*update I was able to get them fixed. Everyone was super nice and they did a much better job. Thank yall for taking care of my nails. I will be returning for sure I really wanted to give this a 5 star. I like that the place was clean and the staff that did my daughter's pedi/mani was very gentle. I like the guy who did my pedi he was very gentle. I did get upset that my daughter and I got there before this lady who ended up getting her pedi before my daughter. I even asked and they said she had to wait for another lady who was busy with someone else. I know we got there at 7 and it was late but we did call before hand and asked if that time was ok and they said yes to come over. The girl that did my nail was nice and I thought my nails looked good until I got home and really had a good look but my nails are so crooked and I even had to come home and file them underneath because they were so sharp. The nails were a lot shorter than I would normally like but I didn't complain because I felt like she was rushing to get out of there. I'm not even mad it felt rushed again it was my bad but the work really suffered. I'm not asking for a refund I just want them fixed. read more

Love this nail salon! I've been coming for two and a half years now and Ryan has been slaying my nail sets, no matter how simple or complex the design I am looking for is. I normally come here and have good service. On a Wednesday during the day I got placed with a lady named Ann. I would avoid this lady next time I have a manicure. The entire time she showed very little interest in my simple design and she had a bad attitude. I promise I'm not a high maintenance nail girl. Ann did not seem to like her job or didn't fit as a good employee in customer service. She did do a good job on my nails so that's why I'm leaving 2 stars. I almost forgot to mention she rushed me out the door and didn't clean the excess material/glue between my nail and skin. I went back inside to have her remove it and she seemed annoyed of what I was asking after I paid $65 not including tip. Not a bad salon just avoid the older lady Ann. read more

I wish I had checked the reviews before coming here. I had a flight home in the morning and wanted to get my nails done and it was one of the few places open after 7pm. I called requesting a spa pedicure for my friend and a French manicure over the phone for myself. We arrive, she removed the dip from my nails and asked me what color for my nails. I told her natural pink for my French manicure. She gets pink dip powder. I told her No, French manicure. She then painted a white line on the tip of all my nails. That is it, I then waited another 20+ minutes or so for my friend to finish his pedicure which he said was good. I called the manager the next morning (they were closed by the time i looked at my nails in good light) He said i can get them fixed next week since I am out of town. I sat with these gross nails for 6 days only for him to pretend he didnt remember me and try to charge me another $20 because I didnt come back right away. I left (wasted my time completely) Do yourself a favor.... STAY away. (Or avoid the older lady and manager guy they are really terrible with communication) I hope this place closes.... or gets new staff/management read more

This is my second time at this salon and I got my sets back to back. Both sets were done nicely but both were very pricy. They even charged me for take off on top of the already pricy brand new ombré set I was getting. The second guy proceeded to buff and buff my nails, a lot which burned my nail, I had told him so multiple times. He also tried to pry the acrylic off with cuticle cutters until I stopped him and told him I wanted a soak off. I do not believe nail care is a priority for this place at all, they just want you in and out. I haven't experienced rudeness per say, but this visit the guy I went to was very impatient with me. He decided to cut my nails extra short assuming I wanted acrylics when I had said dip multiple times, so I had to rethink what I wanted and I could tell he was frustrated. Overall if you want cool designs and your idea done well this place is good to go to, but they are very pricey and lack in prioritizing nail care for their guests and guest service. read more

The staff is very nice. Place is clean. You should definitely ask for the price beforehand, my nails were $85 and I paid it with tip but I was not expecting that price for a simple french tip. I did like my nails a lot though, and they looked like my reference picture I showed them. Also I need to note that I have never had problems with my nails breaking or ripping off, but 2 of my nails ripped off within a week of getting them done. I have had tips several times and have never even broken a nail before, let alone 2 in one week. This was only my second time at this salon, so I wanna give them the benefit of the doubt. Just make sure you ask for the price and be extra careful if the nails seem weak/fragile. read more

DONT EVER COME HERE, not unless you wanna look like a clown!! This whole experience was a literal nightmare. I called ahead to ask if they pluck after waxing, they said they did, surprise surprise they did not. Worst part is the moron technician that they allowed fo ruin my face. She kept waxing the same parts of my eyebrows over and over (not supposed to do that- it will make your skin break) and of course, did not pluck or tweeze or trim at all. She gives me the mirror and I tell her one side is much longer than the other. What does she do? She takes EVEN MORE off the shorter brow, despite me literally telling her to stop. That's right, she straight up ignored me telling her to stop over and over and just put the wax right on my face. Now I don't expect perfection whenever I get my eyebrows waxed but I at least could've avoided this whole mess if that rude ass girl had paid any attention to me telling her to stop. They were bad before but now they're just terrible. Like I'm literally in my car bawling my eyes out because my eyebrows are gonna be ugly for weeks, that is if they grow back at all (never had so much of my brows taken off! Funny because I literally told her "I don't want a lot off I just want them shaped). I have no earthly idea why they let that stupid girl anywhere near people's faces. She didn't listen to a single thing I said, not when I told her the shape I wanted, not when I told her she had fucked up, and especially not when I was telling her she was getting ready to fuck it up even more. And they weren't even gonna give me a refund! I called and cussed them out and finally they were like "well I GUESS we can break policy and refund you." You better! After ruining my eyebrows like this I feel like you should be sued!!!!!1!1! So much for looking nice for my date tonight, thanks for nothing melody nails! Again, DONT EVER COME HERE read more

I'm honestly so disappointed especially because I voiced my dislike for the way my nails were being done and the nail tech did not care to fix it. All I got was "it's not going to look exactly the same, everyone has different techniques." But no it doesn't even look like I was given any effort. Literally worst place. Completely BUTCHERED my nails Everything was going fine I showed him what length I wanted but when he started filing he used the grinding tool to try and save time and ended up filing way too much of my nail off and I told him that he filed them way shorter than I wanted and he got upset and just started ripping my nails off and telling me he'll put new ones on he was so rough in taking them off he broke through my nail and it started to bleed.
