We've had it with Mellow Mushroom on Cedarcrest Road! We have ordered a large house special with normal crust three different times over the past three to four months. After two visits where the pizza was served to us cold and then sent back to warm it up, I thought I'd give them one last chance. Big mistake! This time, the third time, we shared our past experiences with the waitress and requested it be cooked a little longer to ensure it was hot and delicious, like you would expect. It finally came out to us, and it was totally burnt. Unbelievable. Seriously, how hard is it to get a pizza right? It's beyond frustrating to waste our time and money here. I've been a local here, visiting and dining in since they opened. No more. We spoke to the young manager tonight, showed her the burnt pizza, and she looked kind of dumbfounded and just said, "You don't have to pay for it." We weren't looking for a free meal or even a discount--just a good, hot, delicious pizza. It definitely is not here. It is a complete waste of time. Three strikes and you're out! I won't be returning to Mellow Mushroom again. Save yourself the disappointment and visit a different pizza place. Mellow Mushroom of Acworth has completely failed. read more

Pizza has generally been spot on. Servers are great. But... we need to talk about the lighting. It's horrible! I don't know who decided that everywhere you sit in this place has to be lit up with glaring white light at night. But clearly they have no business designing anything. It's miserable. I feel like I'm stage. At the very least you could have chosen a warmer LED. But Ok. Let's try the patio. It's even worse! It's all lit up like a football field. There is no escaping the garish lighting of a Walmart in this location. Fix the lighting situation, and it'd be 4 stars. Maybe even 5. Went here today for lunch. After a 15 minute wait for a table, we were finally seated in a booth. After sitting in the booth 20 minutes with no one saying hello I'll be right with you. Can I get you a drink or anything? We asked one of the servers if our table was even being serviced by us waiter. She said she would check and after another 10 minutes still no one came back. We finally just walked out the door without eating a thing. We will never go to this restaurant again, or spend a dime there. Worst service imaginable and the place wasn't even that busy by the time we were seated. Don't waste your time or your money. I would give it zero stars if that was an option. read more

The Acworth Mellow Mushroom location is hands down my favorite by far! The covered patio is perfect for large groups visiting from Lakepoint. The decor is perfect for the proximity to Lake Allatoona. Pizza is always hot and the cocktails are ice cold! read more

Ordered through third party. I watched their driver sit for 40 minutes, received an hour past estimate. When received, the order was still cold and incorrect. So sad. Awful. This place has a decent business only because there is no real competition. Pitty. It's the worst Mellow Mushroom in the entire chain. Every time we pick up a pizza we say it's the last. Never return. Sad. This place can't even make a simple pepperoni pizza without error; ie over baked, under baked, limp dough, not enough cheese, weak sauce, you name it. It's always something different. $23 and most went in the trash.... There must be a significant staff training issue with management. Most of their customers must have never had an excellent pizza. Nov 2024- Mon or Tue- stop in & chat with bartender Kyle and get a slice. Weekends- get a pitcher and pie with a friend. Always good service and decent pie. 'Everybody knows your name' on my side as they seem to have a pretty stable staff. [2024 Nov update] volunteer at a nearby parish and stop here at least monthly for lunch. It gives me no pleasure to write this as this Mellow has been our go-to, eat-in pizza place probably averaging once a month since it opened years ago. Tonight was a disaster. We arrived before 6, were seated & ordered fairly quickly. Then the wait began. 35-40 minutes later, our beers were mostly gone & tepid - but still no pizza. We asked several times and finally at about 45 minutes, it arrived - but both our orders were wrong. Still not sure if order entered wrong or kitchen did it. We told server, who was apologetic, & we asked to see manager. No manager, but server returned to say they could remake or give 50%. Starving & wasting our evening already, we took the 50%. BEST PIZZA EVER!!! To my surprise, I thought they were only located in Florida. We used to live in Tampa and would only get pizza from Mellow Mushroom. We have never had one bad experience here. We tried the shiitake pizza and cheese pizza. Also had the pretzel bites. Both pizzas tasted gross, I could not finish the slice. The cheese was not tasty and neither was the dough. Pretzel bites, did not taste like pretzels and as the other reviews mention, the beer cheese was so watery. This was a very disappointed order. Ordered two pizzas one small, one medium. Received the same size. Order was for thin and crispy. It was not thin and crispy. Also, they do not deliver everything is through DoorDash. Who was either late at picking up the order, or did not dash to my destination. They should be named slo and slug. Food is great but they struggle with managing orders. Hit and miss on service and speed. Tonight my online order I placed 2 hours prior to needing it is 25 minutes late because of a big party that came in and one cook. Only having one cook is the standard restaurant excuse these days. You would think these restaurants would figure out how to shut down the online orders if they aren't able to fulfill them. read more

Very poor management of this operation. Second time giving it a go, and ended up cancelled my order Friday. I was 20 minutes past the pick up time and was told it would still be another 5-8 minutes. I have little kids, timelines matter to families like ours. I still need to try the Holy Shitake Pie though; Olive oil and garlic base, shiitake, button and portobello mushrooms, caramelized onions, mozzarella, and MontAmoré®. Finished with a garlic aioli swirl and a spritz of black truffle oil. Garnished with fresh chives and shaved parmesan. Burgers - YUM! I like their burgers and they come with roasted potatoes which are pretty darn good. The sandwiches (listed on the menu as hoagies) - this is why I keep coming back. I've brought people here for sandwiches and never had a complaint. I like their meatball hoagie. I think it's the best thing on their menu. Excellent. I should get the half sandwich but I usually get the whole. Sometimes too much is a good thing. The staff is excellent and they seem to seat you fast. If it's busy, it may take a bit of time to get your food but I have never had any complaints from my dinner companions. Long vent, but worth the read! So, we've been patrons of this Mellow Mushroom for 5+ years, and about a month ago. My family decided to have dinner there. As we walked in, I was quickly escorted outside by Kelly who proceeded to tell me that the owner said my family was no longer welcome to the establishment. Rewind to the previous Thursday when we were there and my neighbor showed up with her daughter. We were sitting at a high top and she ordered a Guinness. As everyone knows, Guinness has a large head when it's poured. It didn't, so my neighbor proceeded to tell Tristan that it was flat. Tristan couldn't take it and proceeded to tell my neighbor "I'm telling you Ma'am! (Loudly, so the rest of the restaurant could hear her and turn around) that's how it's poured here. Would you like to see a manager?" My neighbor said yes. As we waited, my husband and my neighbor decided to have a discussion about the Guinness while the kids talked to each other. I have said nothing up to this point. Then, here comes Trent MOD. With the same beer, same head and asks her if she want's it. My neighbor tells him, "why would I want that? It's the same??" He asked her if she wanted something else. And she declined and drank her beer. We finished eating a left. Back to the day Kelly pulled me outside. I asked if my family and neighbor being there on Thursday and the issue with the Guinness had anything to do with the decision? She didn't know since she wasn't there. So, she gave me the owner/real manager, Todd's email. I sent him a message. Didn't hear anything for a day, called to speak to him at the restaurant and he was off. He finally called me back and I asked him why my family can no longer go to the restaurant. His answer, "you've been coming here for 5+ years and we can't please you. You're to demanding. My response, so you're telling me you've been taking our money Along with the 20+% tip we give your servers and now we are too demanding?? Yes he says. I say, we'll, I guess when we get bad lettuce, uncooked pizza, raw beef, that's to demanding? No response... He said, you made Tristen cry. . I said, No, my neighbor madeTristen cry! So, after we went back and forth for a bit. I asked him again. I want to ensure I understand. My family and I are not welcome into your establishment? Todd says, yes.... not for now. This is a newer mellow mushroom, pulling up in the parking lot the place looks fresh, clean, and new. When you walk in you'll see more of the same, wide open areas, clean/crisp atmosphere. The staff is friendly and quick. We had a great attentive waitress that payed enough attention so we never ran out of water but gave us time to eat. Food: Hummus and flat bread was great!
