The restaurant is unassuming on the outside- look for WCG on the sign. We were greeted and advised to sit where we liked. There were several tables to choose from. The dining room is bright and welcoming. Maz (mahz) is the owner, along with his wife, and also served us. He was pleasant & attentive. It was clear by all the regulars there how well-respected he is and how liked his restaurant is. I ordered the fish sandwich with housemade chips and my hubby got the Windy City Shrimp Po-boy with housecut fries. It was all delicious. Nothing was greasy at all. My sandwich was huge. We both thoroughly enjoyed our meals. Y'all, with the economy the way it is, we've really been trying to eat at small businesses and Windy City Grill did not disappoint. Service was friendly and polite and the wait time was reasonable. Overall the experience was positive. The wings were hot and freshly made with a good balance of crispness and sauce. The helpful woman at the register helped me navigate the menu patiently. I ordered a combo basket of shrimp and whole fried wings with fries and cole slaw. The food was made fresh to order including the fries. It did take 25 minutes or so for my order to come out steaming hot. I was ok with that. I did order the meal with the house seasoning which is a combination of sage, a lot of salt, and other things. By the end of the basket, everything was very salty. I know to ask for a light dust... very light, the next time.
